  1. I don't give a #### about bump stocks. I care about them stealing private property with no compensation. THAT is where Trump went really wrong, and that is what is going to give him a case of achy testicles. What remains to be seen... how he deals with it.

  2. From top to bottom 2009 RAMI 2075 P 2013 SDP, an improved P01 from CZC with CGW grips. and the one that started it all, my beloved 2006 75B Omega, improved by CGW with Hakan Pek grips. All in 9mm with mag compatibility, though I have not tried the 18 MecGars in the RAMI yet. I like the SDP the least, while the trigger is smooth, it's slightly bumpy, which makes sense since you are moving parts in a complicated decocker sear cage. It is also equipped with Heinie 2 dot sights and I've been a 3 dot guy for nigh 30 years. I'm planning on using the RAMI in the upcoming training class with Randy. If I like shooting it, I will send it off to CGW.

  3. Liars gonna lie.... The best thing that could come out of this would be if the NRA were to decide it would support candidates solely on the basis of their willingness to support RKBA, and with no regard for party affiliation. Tying the NRA to the Republican Party of today, which seems undecided on whether it wants to destroy the nation or just the party itself, is not a winning plan for the future.

  6. It's also not surprising that our most vocal Trump supporters are suddenly silent in this thread. Someone recently pointed out that during Obama's first 2 years we got the right to carry in National Parks. During Trump's first 2 years we get this #### sandwich. That isn't a compliment to Obama, just a fact. It was the GOP that snuck that into the bill he wanted to sign. I'll say it again, the GOP does a much better job when they aren't in power.

That goes for anything listed below that's barrel proof or cask strength. don't let the high proof scare you, it's easy to add water. I use a proof calculator to get it exact. 12. I can't see how anyone who has ever read a law book would think this doesn't violate the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment, which prohibits theft of personal property by the government. I don't give two hoots in hell for bump stocks, but I look forward to the lawsuits over this foolish action. Remember when Trump was elected and people were predicting we'd get silencers removed from the NFA? Instead, an all-Republican administration goes for almost two years doing absolutely nothing to strengthen RKBA, but as they hand the House over to the Dems, they give us this.

  13. The thing that gets me is that Trump didn't have to do this. The Vegas shooting happened over a year ago. People aren't even whining about bump stocks like they were. In fact, the only person that kept talking about them was Trump and the only people that were complaining about them are never going to vote for Trump anyways. This makes zero sense for him politically. Trump did this because he wanted to. Why? I'm done with the NRA. I'd rather give money to a group that doesn't Negotiate Rights Away. This is what happens when the NRA becomes an extension of the republican party rather than a non-partisan advocacy group. They did a damn fine job when Obama was around and now they work with Trump to ban an item that really isn't a problem. It's also pretty scary that they can do this without a buy-back. So for those of you that don't care about Bump Stocks I want you to keep this in mind the next time they come for an item you do care about.

  14. I’m creating a little liquidity right now because I have to have one. I’ve wanted a 92 with a Gallatin rollmark ever since the move was announced. This scratches this itch in an ultimate way.

  15. So what is the penalty for possession? In a few months formerly law abiding citizens will now be criminals. All for what? Does anyone think the NRA would have remined silent if a Democrat had done this? HELL NO! At least the GOA is going to fight it. They will get my money from now on. https://thehill.com/regulation/421928-gun-rights-group-says-it-will-sue-over-bump-stock-ban

  18. I too, like the look, they're CZexy. Discovered from a YouTube video that a patent was never filed on the 75 and it has become one of the most copied handguns with 26 (need fact check) different manufacturers putting out a version. I also like the feel in my hand and shoot them pretty well. Excluding the enhanced triggers, all three are different. The RAMI is the standard DA/SA with safety, SDP is a decocker, and the 75B has the omega with Greek roll mark on the slide. I did track down a decent paddle by Front Line for the RAMI at a nice discount from an eBay seller.

  20. I wish I could tell you, but I'm still experimenting myself. So far I've tried IMI 62 gr FMJ and American Eagle 55 gr FMJ. Neither was very impressive. I've got about 6 or 7 brands and weights on the shelf to try. But the weather and other things just aren't co-operating for a range day. I'm thinking the heavier 75-77 gr bullets might be the answer. But can't prove it just yet. I'm open to suggestions same as you.

  21. I have a Jericho Compact (Magnum Research Baby Eagle) which is a variant there-of on the CZ. It is hands down the most aesthetically appealing firearm I own beyond my cowboy guns. There is something about the CZ design that just does it for me. You collection does no insults to the design, that is for sure.

  24. If the kid gave detailed information and descriptions that he had access to uncle Bennies guns; yes, they are going to seize them as evidence for a conspiracy to commit murder case and they have the right to do that. You were a cop; you know that is true. Someone admitting to conspiracy to commit murder is no different than someone threatening suicide or homicide. The guns they have access to will be seized. Anything less is unacceptable. There is no violation of 2nd amendment rights. The 2nd amendment does not now and never did protect the rights of those that can’t keep their firearms from criminals. After the trial Uncle Bennie can petition the court to get his guns back. If my kid had access to my guns and then was arrested for conspiracy to deliver the guns in a murder case; my guns would be seized. But I don’t think I would be screaming about my 2nd amendment rights when I found out my kid was homicidal; I would have bigger issues to deal with.

  26. You may be jumping to conclusions about the relative. You assume the relative is a parent, but I think if it was a parent they would have said so; not just say a relative. To put it this way, what if the relative was uncle Bennie who has no idea his nephew planned to assist in the killings by stealing his guns? Do you police have the right to go seize uncle Bennie's guns because the nephew planned to steal them? If so, what keeps them from seizing every relative's guns and even friends?

  29. The “unsuspecting” relative didn’t have his house and family in order if a 14 year old that was a nut case and willing to kill someone had access to his guns. It’s a text book example of what the anti-gunners use to get laws passed making gun owners responsible for securing their weapons. I don’t think gun owners should be held responsible for criminals breaking into their house and getting their weapons. But not allowing homicidal family members access to them is their responsibility.

  30. This isn’t an issue of the NRA or the GOA. However, as you said people are told “If you see something; say something”. Doing nothing will no longer be acceptable. Cops will act…period. This is going to be like the domestic violence laws; Police discretion is going to be removed. For most families this will be a non-issue. If you have a family member that will call the cops on you; you have bigger problems than someone taking your guns.

  31. Doug, something is being done. People’s guns are being confiscated every day without due process. Then people want to blame them when some nut case they have contacted goes out and shoots someone. After one of these shootings, you yourself wanted to blame the cops and the mental health people because you said they had him in custody, took him in for a mental health evaluation and then let him go. From the stories I read none of that is true. Yes, the cops were called. He threatened no one; he was tearing his house up. He was not taken into custody or taken anywhere. He was detained and mental health people were called to the location. They deemed he was not a danger and left. Weeks later he went out and killed people. Were they wrong? Was he a danger? Sure. And hindsight is 20/20. What do you think those cops and those mental health people will do the next time? They will seize all firearms and do everything can to get a mental health commitment; voluntary or otherwise. And you can’t blame them. I may be the only one here thinking this way, but as a former cop I know confiscation is easy to do and done all the time; without any kind of due process. So I don’t see these read flag laws as a potential violation; I see them as an opportunity to legislate due process. Will that happen? Well, we don’t know because we haven’t seen what Tennessee or the Feds have in mind. I doubt they will add due process because that would require immediate action 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I believe that is possible. But I’m sure some lawmakers will argue you can’t act that fast; you need time. You don’t need time to bring the suspect and witnesses before a judge, let them tell their stories and get either a court order or a dismissal. This is like Domestic Violence; you can’t blame it on the cops because families can’t handle their own personal business and have to call someone that can. But in most areas they are law enforcement officers, not mental health experts. This is going to be done. If a person threatens suicide or makes violent threats against others; action is going to be taken. That is the times we live in.

  32. Respectfully, I must disagree. Parkland FL, Las Vegas, Orlando, Sutherland Springs, TX, Virginia Tech, Columbine, etc etc. None of these are states with highly restrictive gun laws. In fact, they are the opposite. Even CT wasn't that restrictive prior to Sandy Hook. Now, you could argue that most of these are gun free zones. There are states with a lot of gun crime and loose gun laws. TN is an example. There are also states with lax gun laws that have very little crime. NH comes to mind. If you look at the top 10 deadliest mass shootings only 2 were in a place that has strict gun laws.

  34. If you have a bump stock, you have 90 days to turn it in or destroy it or you will be a felon. Trump is showing his true colors…. He is NOT a 2nd Amendment supporter, he played on to win, but he is not a friend. He is a traitor. He has not done anything in support of the 2nd and he has actually been WORSE than Obama on the 2nd. I feared this exactly. Magazine Bans are next...

  37. A couple of weeks ago, I got tired of waiting for ATN to put out software for the 4K Pro scope I had just bought, so I returned the scope to retailer for a refund before that window closed. Glad I did. I replaced that scope with a Pulsar Apex XQ38 thermal rig. That scope is currently mounted on a 12" Grendel pistol. I don't hunt at night. But I wanted dark thirty capability. This past Sunday afternoon, I carried the setup to the deer stand. In this particular spot, there is a thicket of brush, weeds, and small saplings about 35 yards out in front. There is open hardwoods between the thicket and the stand. After being on stand for maybe a half hour, I decided to start scanning the woods/thicket to see what I might see. About 45 yards out, inside that thicket were 3 deer that I could see plain as day. Pull off the scope ... can't see anything but thicket. Get back on scope ... deer! After 10-15 minutes, as I watched thru the scope, 2 of those deer walked outta the thicket directly in front of me. I could see them plainly and could have dropped the hammer. They were both does and I have the 094 license. I didn't. The point to this story, is that I knew they were there because of the thermal. And I knew where they were going to come out because of the thermal. To be continued ....

  38. So I’m getting into bourbon and I may have Blanton’s and Angel’s Envy under the tree! In the spring we’re going to drive up to Buffalo Trace Distillery and tour the facilities. Lots of good bourbon comes out of there...Would love to try some Weller or Elmer T Lee, but doubt I’ll find any. What are some other good ones? I’ve tried Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek, Elijah Craig, Woodford Reserve...liked all of them. Thinking about Old Forrestor Prohibition 1920... Thanks, B

  40. GOA has been getting a yearly donation/membership from me. It's a stretch with some of my charitable donations, but worth it. I just cannot seem inclined to send anything more to NRA recently. Been an NRA member for over 25 years, and a Life Member for 5. But the constant mailings to upgrade and I just can't do it.

  42. Not much of a surprise here. Trump was a gun-banning Democrat before he decided it would be more advantageous to pretend to be a Republican. He sees a chance for personal advantage in banning bump stocks. If he perceives personal advantage in infringing on the RKBA in other ways, he will do it eagerly. But if it's clear more gun-grabbing will cost him, he won't. Our job is to make sure he understands that it will cost him big.
