  1. Sometimes things happen and a couple did on Christmas for me this year. To begin with my land lord showed up at my home on Christams Eve to wish me a Merry Christmas and handed me an envelope with a card. I thanked him and wished him a Merry Christmas and we shook hands and I bid him a safe trip home. I had some new neighbors move in on the other side of my place. A young couple, He is the one with that big Camper he is trying to sell for a friend. Well, I noticed that has was making a few trips with a pickup truck to move their things from their old place and his wife was trying to help him move some of the furniture in and I had a few friends stop by about that time and I asked them to help them so they jumped right in and helped the young man unload the trailer he had behind the pick up and his pickup. I ask him if that was all he had or was there more to go get and he said nope, this is it. He reached in his pocket for his wallet to offer to pay and we all said no and glad to help and as we were leaving I heard his young wife say she would try and get supper made if she could find cook vessels. I had just finished up a 3 Quart Crock Pot of Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup and a pan of Corn Bread so I put about 1/2 of the soup in a tupperware container and wrapped up about 6 pieces of corn bread and I also took spoons and bowls. I walked it over to their door and knocked and they came to the door and I said it's still hot so enjoy. He took it and I said hope you like it and I turned and left. They both work so have not got to actually visit much but we wave when we see each other outside. So yesterday he came over and knocked and I opened the door and it was my neighbor and he handed me a card in an envelope and wished me a Merry Christmas and we shook hands and I told him Merry Christmas in return and we shook hands again and he left. Ok so I opened the card from my landlord and in the card was a $20.00 and in the card from my neighbor was a $10.00 bill. I was not expecting anything from anyone except family. This has shown me one thing there are still people who actually do understand the spirit of what Christmas is and giving. I just wanted to share this experience with folks here because this is something that I would have maybe expected from folks here because folks here are caring about folks but have never had a landlord give me a gift and was surely not expecting my neighbor to do what they did.......................

  2. I've resolved not to resolve to do or quit or start anything. I know it will be tough, but I think I can do it.

  4. So my uncle passed last month. He told my aunt before he died to make sure I get a certain revolver that was my grandfather’s. He already gave me my grandfather’s .SW 38 special which SW dated back to 1964. So I was surprised to hear about this one. I never saw it growing up and had no idea he owned it. My father said he owned this one first but it was just to big to carry everyday. He worked as a constable and at parchman prison in MS. I contacted SW with the serial number and they dated it 1926-27. Very well take care of. Looking forward to taking her out. Going to get the holster repaired as well. proud to have it looks good to be 90years old

  8. I usually keep the lights and decorations up until New Years but this year I ain't feelin it!, so....... Changed up the Avatar to match my pessimistic mood including mushroom cloud. I'm sure I'll get back into my normal realistic and indifferent mood a few weeks into the new year, with a little excitement here and there to mix it up of course. Hope you all had a Happy Christmas and be safe on New Years anyways!

  9. What need does this address, that Glock is trying to fill? Not sure I get it's purpose, unless its a pistol for the more limited ammunition capacity states?

  10. Well since New Years eve is only a couple days away so how about hearing some of the New Years Resolutions folks here have made for 2019. I have made up my mind to continue not smoking as long as these patches keep working and also lose some of the weight I have gained since quitting a while back!! Also going to try and make a few more range trips to get back on target a little bit. Lets hear some others!!!................

  12. Well, this may be the Glock I have been wishing for for years--a 43 on roids or a 19 on slim-fast. In other words, a flat, 4" single stack 9mm Glock. Most of my carry is IWB and the 19 is chubby, often uncomfortably so. The easiest non-pocket pistol I have ever carried IWB was a Kahr CW9, but Kahr triggers are hideous. This appears to be slightly bigger, but similar. If it really weighs < 21 ounces, that's even better.

  13. The ones I get from family are the ones that I keep. Still have the Marlin 336 from when I was 10. It will go to my 7 year old soon. None of these will be on the chopping block. You can't put a price on memories.

  14. Their sales numbers, for one. I don't like them, either. But those and the S&W M&P 380 Shield EZ are hard to keep in stock.

  15. I'm torn on this. I work plain clothes and carry both the Glock 19 w/XC1 + RMR and Glock 43 w/TLR-6. Usually in the summer I carry the 43 a little more based on my build and style of dress. Width of firearms generally is my biggest problem given my style of dress. I could see a very narrow niche this could fill for me as I like the extra length and imagine shootablity to be slightly better than my 43. Capacity is kind of irrelevant as I carry +2 and +3 Taran Tactical mags in my 43. But I guess an extra round or two would be nice. I don't know that this would solve any real problem that I cant work around with my 19 or 43 but I can see a very narrow use if I had one. Saying this I don't think I would buy one for the same reason I haven't bought a Glock 45/19x. I just can't justify the money for something I feel doesn't offer a substantial improvement over what I already have (G34,17,19,43). But if someone on here buys me one I would probably find a day or two in the year that it would be convenient to carry. So I guess in summary I'm just trying to say I don't think it's completely useless but also at the same time not very useful, lol.

  16. For whatever reason, the derringer was promised to my aunt and the Iver Johnson was promised to mom. The Parker double was promised to my brother (oldest grandson) . Those were the only stipulations other than picking from the pairs.

  17. Right now people are speculating on the G48. The official stats have not been released. Because of the width people are guessing that it will be either a single stack of a staggered stack but not a double stack. I do not think the dimensions will be officially released until Shot Show.

  20. Thanks @Esko 270! Some older threads on here and on SIGTalk convinced me of that. Went with an ILWT tri-lug as it was endorsed by a Dead Air engineer on one thread. Since I can run 300 BO through it as well, made sense to have an easy swap out.

  21. Beretta 92. A frame that fat should hold 24 rounds, not 15. Do we even need to mention the horrendous DA/SA trigger? True, you can't complain about it being light.
