  1. Bingo. We have a system now that works when we need it to. Clearly they had no issue tracking the weapons of these mass murders with their evil semi-bump-full-semi assault weapons back the source with the current system. But it would be a GD wet dream for that scarecrow named Pelosi and the rest of those idiots, rep and dem alike, to have on file everything you have that they consider harmful. Where does "for the better good" end and invasion of privacy and infringement on my rights begin?

  2. If people would only act like they had some sense, we wouldn't need police and judges. Sadly, this will never be the case. I don't like criminals, and am not fond of police or judges either. I only wish they'd all leave me alone.

  4. I can’t tell much from the video so I’ll rely on the media reports. The suspect made the choice to run. He made the choice to have a gun in his hand. It is reasonable that any person, Police Officer, or citizen, pursuing an armed person that is not dropping the weapon; intends on using it. As soon as he gets to a position of cover it’s reasonable to believe he will engage the person chasing him. When I was a cop we shot fleeing forcible felons. Home Invaders, Burglars, Rapists, Armed Robbers are absolutely a danger to the public. The fact that they can out run a cop shouldn’t mean they get to have more victims. Tennessee V. Garner stopped that and its needs to be overturned. We have seen too many cases where there was a public outcry because a Police Officer or armed citizen shot a career criminal because they believed that criminal was threatening their life. If you want to handcuff the cops; go ahead. You will have the same situation you now have in Chicago. Also you as an HCP holder will he held to the same standards. If you shoot an armed robber as he is turning to run; you will be charged. That’s wrong. So be careful; be very careful. Criminals that have guns in their hands and are not following the orders of the Police; will get shot. I have no idea why they decided to charge this Officer so I must assume its politics. (I'll wait to hear why) That’s what happened in Chicago. I don’t think most of us want that here. I’ll also echo the concerns of others; why wasn’t this criminal in jail? It kind of looks like if the DA or Judges had done their job this career criminal would be alive in prison, and a cop wouldn’t be headed to trial.

  5. Just saw this 2 barrel revolver in .22 WMR that fires both barrels at once. Interesting but gimmicky.. https://www.ballisticmag.com/2019/01/04/standard-mfg-s333-double-barrel-handgun/

  6. I recently inherited my grandfather’s Colt Agent that he has carried for years and years. I am lucky enough that he is still with me, but he is getting of an advanced age and is starting to think about these things. Just wanted to share a couple pictures. Also pictured are a couple boxes of ammo that came with the gun that appear to have some age on them as well. Anybody got any info they would care to share on the white-cased USAC ammo? Never seen them before.

  7. My crystal ball says universal background checks will be federal law sometime in 2021 or 2022....along with a whole lot of other things we are not going to like.

  8. Thanks for the lead, bud -- holy smoke, it has 314 pages of discussion, and I never found this in my reading on the 1301. Since I'd plan to use this as a HD gun and I'm not a fan of slugs for that purpose, a fixed cylinder choke would be my choice anyway. Thanks again, Whisper

  10. Well. I’d like to think it was the mid 90’s but you pretty much nailed it. I’ve wanted one of these for a while. Scratches the large .45 itch if it shoots as well as many of the reviews indicate.

  12. I have a Shield and have been happy with it. More so since I installed an Apex trigger. The hinged factory trigger just didn't work well for me. Its too big for me to pocket carry, but it conceals very well in a good belt holster. As for weight, I find it's more about balance than total weight. I find carrying 2 spare mags opposite the gun less fatiguing than the gun by itself. And a good gun belt makes all the difference.

  15. I spent a week in London and 2 weeks in Peak District National Park in Derbyshire back in the mid 90's. I was part of a student group doing trail maintenance and such in the park. So there is a cobblestoned path and wall that I had a hand in. I loved everything about it. Got to visit several non-tourist places in London I was revered to and then soak in the views in the park. Several days the moor was covered in fog and all you heard all day was sheep. By the end we hated that noise. Lol Pretty big trip for me. Farthest I had been before was D.C., and that was a group trip.

  16. I loved England when I was there! I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath, but lived in the local communities before eventually moving onto the airbase. Of course, it was a different England back then...there were 2 BBC and one ITV channels that went off the air fairly early each night...no satelite or cable, and the pubs closed early as well, but i loved England and my English friends. It was a simpler time...fond memories.

  25. Henry Rifles heard you. https://www.americanhunter.org/articles/2019/1/4/henry-repeating-arms-introduces-long-ranger-in-65-creedmoor-and-american-eagle-rifles/ The company’s Long Ranger lever-action rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor uses a 22-inch blued steel sporter-contoured, free-floated barrel with a 1:8″ twist to get the most accuracy out of the high BC bullet. The American walnut stock sports deep checkering, a soft rubber recoil pad and a steel forestock cap. The rifle utilizes a chromed-steel bolt and a six-lug rotary head, worked via a geared action to provide a solid lockup similar to that of a bolt-action rifle. Other features include a detachable, 4-round box magazine and a drilled and tapped receiver. The Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor has an MSRP of $1,066.

  27. Wow, a 5 screw 44spl. What a great pass me down. Make sure nothing in that holster like the snap can get anywhere close to the cylinder. A real gem of an American treasured classic...... You Lucky dog you!

  28. Well if it were me, I'd go with a FNH FNS. Best 9mm I've ever shot. Really like mine!!! Comes with three mags too, for around $400. If you would like to try it out, let me know. You supply the rounds and I'll supply the FNS. If you decide on a steel 9mm, not sure you could do better than a CZ75 or a Browning Hi-Power. The CZ will be cheaper than the Browning. I prefer both over the Beretta 92 and the S&W's.

  29. It's political, the voting base wanted an arrest at any cost. When the video was released, no mention of the gun in his hand, but I think they said one was found afterwards. So from the get go they were trying to railroad the officer. I was leaning towards the perp's side of things until the police union weighed in with all the facts. His record shows he should have been in prison, if anyone is to blame, it's the ones that had him on the streets. His record, IMO, should not be considered unless the officer knew who he was pursuing, but it does show he had a reason to run and possibly use the gun to keep from getting arrested. And now with the rest of the shenanigans to affect an arrest, I am definitely leaning towards the cops side on this.

  30. He was such a good boy. Turned his life around (while illegally carrying a gun). Multiple felony history. Failure to obey an officer. A danger to the public and the officer. Guilt of conscience...that is why he ran. IMO no relation to the Garner case. Justifiable shoot. Just do what you are told by the police, especially if you are holding a gun.

  31. I was REALLY wanting to go get a 1911. Posted on here and got great info (thank you), read online and was ready to go make it happen. Went to the gun store today. Someone was blocking the 1911 section so I looked at the used handguns while waiting. In the bottom corner of the case, I saw a HK USP45. Since I had never held one, I figured, why not. It was all over from there. Maybe next time I’ll get a 1911 but I couldn’t walk away from this one. Pretty sure it has never been shot or certainly not much. Off to the range tomorrow!

  32. Sure, here’s the FOX News poll; I figure they are probably the least likely to word the questions to put their own spin on it, or just outright lie. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-voters-favor-gun-measures-doubt-congress-will-act If you look at some of the other polls, Gallop, CNN, etc.; they are even higher. Some of the polls even asked if guns should be registered with the local Police and claim 70% said YES. It’s going to take a lot for the states to stop the Feds from requiring BC on private sales. If they also want to create a registry; they will have problems getting that passed. (I think. But I could be very wrong.)
