  1. I found this at the Jackson, TN gun show today. A Model 15-3 2". The gun is easily 98% with just a very light turn line. Timing, lock up, etc are perfect. The action is smooth as butter. It shows very little evidence of being fired. It has a nicely figured set of PC magna stocks on it. Serial number dates it to 1972. I added the T-grip once I got it home. The price was pretty good for this gun in this condition. $475 OTD. I don't really need it. It was an impulse buy just because I didn't have one. But I like it. The bad thing is that with the way our weather has been and current forecasts, it may be Spring before I get a chance to get to the range to try it out. I'm afraid my poor photography skills just don't do it justice. It looks much better in person.

  2. I think the folks at Raven Concealment said it best about why the Glock 48 makes sense: A lot of folks who are saying the idea is stupid probably don't and won't ever carry a gun appendix IWB or anywhere further frontward on the belt-line than three o'clock. If you've carried AIWB or in front of the hip bone with a short slide, small frame gun, you have probably felt the Lego Principle at work as the firearm dug into you while you sat. The longer slide makes perfect sense. So does having your holster manufacturer cut your leather or kydex rig a little longer and wider than the gun to spread out the point(s) of contact it has with your flesh. Food for thought.

  6. bersaguy and tuffus are spot on about the Bersa guns. I've not personally owned one, but shot a few. Nice, accurate, and reasonably priced...But... I'm still a Shield fan. They fit me perfectly, and that's most important to me.

  7. I feel this is just a bunch of pandering to their future constituency. They just want to appear to be trying to get "justice", knowing they will garner the votes of the leftists and minority community that make up a large voting block in Davidson county. If they would put their energy into catching, prosecuting, and keeping in prison, those criminals, such as the deceased, then there would be fewer of these incidents. What gets me is that there are plenty of definite bad acts by government officials, and yes LEO, to be choosing incidents like this to make a case on. Then they could actually get votes on both sides of the aisle. But no, they latch on to anything which goes viral regardless of the facts.

  8. If your looking for an inexpensive 380 DA you need to look no further than a Bersa Thunder THUN380DT from Buds at a price of $246.00. All of the Bersa Thunders have 5 star ratings and I own 2 and never have issues with them at the range and they will eat just about any brand 380 ammo........JMHO

  10. How come the toy packaging never shows two or more kids fighting and screaming for the toy? In my experience, that's much more likely than everyone being all smiles and giggles... Anyone have similar thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

  14. I was very skeptical when they announced this. With the dimensions they were reporting It just did not seem like a big difference from the 19. Boy was i wrong. I went over to Royal Range and fondled a 48, 43X and a 19. The 43X and the 48 have to be the best feeling glocks I have ever held. The difference between the 48 and 19 were night and day. I can see myself carrying a 43X or 48 because of the grip. The 43X is really compact and closer to what I normally carry but the longer sight radius on the 48 is really nice. I also held a Sig P365 to compare. It also felt really good in the hand but the grip is to short for my liking. The rest of the gun felt really solid. The 43X and 48 are the first Glocks I have actually been excited about.

  15. Attended the show this AM. Lot's of Smith & Colt Revolvers, plenty of modern pistols & rifles, knives, etc... There were many collectible/antique firearms, some nice & others tomato stakes. It was nice to see a gun show without the flea market items. All in all a good show & well worth the admission fee.

  16. First degree murder? You have got to be kidding me. It’s not over eagerness or incompetence; it’s political on the part of the DA and the Mayor. Which makes it malicious prosecution. It’s time for the state AG to step in, and if he doesn’t the Feds need to step in. Of course no one will step in and do what’s right because they are willing to sacrifice a cop. Metro cops need to walk off the job.

  18. Just a follow up to this. I showed up at the DMV with everything suggested, and was asked for nothing other than filling out a form with my DL, SSN and Permit Course number. The guy took my pic, I paid my money, and off I went to the fingerprinting place.

  19. How can any red blooded man not bond with this guy when you see & feel the love the man had for raking belt fed bullets into a rapidly disintegrating target. yeah..... he was the "man".... personified! May your many blessings now be realized.

  20. A double action rifle. I wonder why nobody ever thought about this before? Interesting and innovative. I'd certainly like to try it. The only problem I see will be all the semi-auto guys complaining about the long trigger pull. Where us DA revolver shooters could probably get used to it fairly quickly.

  24. I hate to hear that, though I wish I could say I was surprised. The best performing Taurus designs I've heard are the PT92 and the PT111 G2. As to the shipping cost, about 10-15 years ago the carriers implemented a policy that handguns must go next day air, thus the premium cost. FFLs can still use USPS to ship handguns more reasonably, but A) it's only for FFL-to-FFL and B ) It's USPS

  25. I have no problem with what you say as long as that is made clear to Officers before they take the job. If they are expected to wait until the gun is pointed at them; tell them that. That is what this case is telling them. (And that is not a requirement) They are having trouble getting good people that want to be cops. Let’s see how that works. As a citizen that respects the Police I see that as a big problem. The people deserve good law enforcement; it needs to protect us not violent offenders. But be aware that if cops are held to that standard; you will be also. Cops are required to move towards the danger; not away. Citizens don’t have that requirement, so we will be headed back towards “Duty to retreat” for citizens; because that’s what you want for cops. Being a cop is a violent business. You go into it knowing you will be hurt; you don’t expect to be killed. I’m furious that that judge used that video to say it wasn’t clear if the criminal pointed his gun at the Officer or not. That BS; it’s not required and if that video isn’t clear; it should be thrown out. If that video didn’t exist; there would be no trial. But apparently with that video officials feel they can sit around and try to decide if that criminal pointed his gun at that Officer. I can’t believe that will ever stand. A Sheriff is facing dismissal, a Deputy was fired and many are calling for criminal prosecution because the Deputy didn’t act fast enough. 14 kids and 3 staff members were killed, 17 others wounded. But hey, the criminal is alive and well. Cops are required to act. If a gunman not following lawful orders to disarm dies; so be it. I have a niece that was sworn in as a Police Officer Wednesday. I hope the officials in her area don’t side with the violent criminals. This case is malicious prosecution. I’m all for discussing the problems with Policing. And I’m all for charging Police Officers when they commit a crime. But when someone has a gun in their hand, and they are being ordered by someone they know to be a Police Officer to drop it, and they refuse; deadly force is justified. I don’t have an “Us vs. them mentality”, I have a right vs. wrong mentality”.

  35. Requiring a submitter to make a thing for submission and then charge them for making that thing is a bad faith action and not something I would worry about. Their ability to garner an indictment, let alone a conviction is highly unlikely in my estimation Here’s where this gets really bad for the end user. I’m thinking about buying a Springfield Saint Edge. Now let’s say Springfield has submitted that to the ATF and gotten back a guidance letter saying that in that specific configuration, it’s good to go. Sounds good, right? Now let’s say I want to add an angled fore grip to it. Now the configuration has changed and the letter no longer covers my gun. Change the grip to one I like better? Nope. Add a light? Nope. Optic? Nope. The letter only applies to the specific configuration submitted to the ATF. Any changes at all to the gun makes the clearance letter no longer applicable. The pistol market just took a huge hit.
