  1. So I have been asked lately to make some crossdraw holsters so I have decided to work on a couple designs. The main thing that makes them a little different is the angle (at least I think it is different, lol). I made these to be a little more extreme than most of what is available as that's what I am getting asked for. The first one was made for a S&W 686 2.5" barrel and can be made for just about any medium to large frame revolver. The second one is not for everyone but I had to do it, lol. This one is for a 4.75" barrel SAA I still need to do a little tweaking but I wanted to show what I have been working on lately. Thanks For looking

  2. Here's one you don't see everyday. I picked this up off Armslist yesterday. Its a "Commander" sized 9mm Hi-Power made by FM Argentina. These are excellent quality, licensed copies of the famous Hi-Power pistol. However. FM decided to take it a bit further by creating a compact version that's an inch shorter than the standard. These were imported and sold here in the mid to late 1990s. That was during the infamous "assault weapons ban" and thus it came with two 10 round magazines. Anyway, I just thought y'all might like to take a peek.

  3. I’m gonna go way out on a limb and take a WAG that with name Colt on it might put it in somewhere in the range of $600. It is a cobbled together mismatch of parts and customization. It is definitely worth what someone is willing to pay for it in his case.

  5. Been on a 45 kick lately. I had bought a 645 back when they were still in production and after shooting groups, I knew something was wrong with its obsession with flyers. Some how, Smith bored the chamber out of center with the bore. It was pretty drastic. On one side of the chamber throat, the lands had a long taper cut into the bore WITH some of the groove diam. On the opposite side the lands had virtually no tapered throat at all. they just started at full depth just forward the chamber. The woman at S&W CS referred me to the performance center and after I described the issue, he simply sent me a new barrel flat out! He didn't want the gun or the bad barrel back. Now that was in the early 90's so I don't know whats going on over there these days. Any way, the big 45 was a good shooter with the new barrel but still not great because the slide had its share of walk in battery. Enter everygunpart.com and I spot a parts set for a 4516. Hmmmmm, My mind goes full retard thinking "carry....carry....carry" Well, it took some mill work up front on both the slide and frame but that's actually great because I was able to machine and hand fit the front end to a really nice no wobble mate up. THIS puppy should shoot! Just finished it up tonight and I love it. Smith blew the 3rd gen when they deleted the checker aluminum back strap for that crappy plastic wrap around garbage on the 4506. Sooo, I got the best of the old world Smith in this little guy IMO.

  7. I have no kids around my house. The self defense guns are out and loaded. I know most folks can't do that. I don't unload handguns to put them in the safe either, so most have ammo in them. Just no detatched mags or ammo boxes.

  8. It's really uncomfortable for my little finger. I've talked to several people that it doesn't bother them but it's a deal breaker for me.

  9. 6 hours to print in PLA supports were a bit of a pain, but supports always are. The PLA isnt the most durable or heat resistant material, but as a novelty its interesting....

  11. Thanks, Grayfox, I probably should have used the PM system for this. Sorry. Yes I think you got a great deal on it. Condition and availability on the Detective seems to be erattic. I've heard from a few sources of some very high prices on these. Like in the 500+ range, and seen some ads that were just outrageous. Brother-in-law, who is somewhat of a freak on Browning HPs, told me he had offers to buy one of 600+. Can't verify that, just word of mouth. I really haven't searched for anything on these for years, so my comments may be worth absolutely nothing. I haven't found my records, but if memory is right, I paid in the 250 range from an imported/distributor back then. I know I bought in the time just after chemo and radiation treatments, so that puts it in the 2011-2012 range. If I ever get organized, I vaguely remember some trade clippings on the history of the Argentine HPs. If I find it, I'll send you a copy, but it centered on how the pistols got to be produced there, and the different models and how they were intended to be used by the Argentine Police.

  12. This one has been shot, but not much. It looks almost new. I believe I got a real good deal on this one. I gave $400 for it. Now if it would just warm up a bit and quit raining.

  15. I had considered the 10mm...but I've always wanted a modern "tommy gun" and I have quite a bit of 45 on hand.

  16. Love it. The 10mm version in on my short list. I love the fact they now make all the mag extenders for the glock mags.

  23. LOL! Part of my ammo fills a refrigerator sized cabinet built of 1" plywood. What doesn't fit in there is stacked on a shelf underneath my workbench. I may have a problem.

  24. Not sure I understand. My ammo won't fit in my safe either.

  26. We used to take pop cans and punch a hole in the center of the can to drain the soda (that's right...no pop top). Let it dry and fill it full of home made black powder. Then stick a sparkler in the hole. Set that sucker on a stand made of rocks, light the sparkler and stand back and wait. If we had made a good batch that puppy would ignite, fly about 20 feet up in the air and explode. Hillbilly terrorists......lol

  27. Absolutely nothing wrong with the old XD pistols. For $300 that might be the best "deal" going for someone looking to get some extra protection or ad a caliber to their collection. Good for them. +

  34. I got a Rough Rider along with 2 other guns while making a gun deal back a few years ago and it ended up costing me about 50 bucks with both cylinders. I took it to the range just to check accuracy of it with 22lr and not the magnum cylinder. Was impressed with it at 15 yards. with out being familiar with it I managed to even impress myself at how accurate the gun was. Right now son in law has it cause he was having issues with critters killing his chickens at night in chicken house. He ended up killing 2 possums and a skunk which was lucky enough to kill outside the coop and my daughter heard a comotion one evening while son in law was still at work and she managed to shoot and kill a weasel that had killed a chicken and was eating on it when she shot it. It was outside the coop and in the chicken yard. She has also killed three chicken snakes with it in the summer time. Tommy offered to by it off of me and my daughter has just told me I can't have it back "SO" I guess that is that. I don't own one any more.............................
