  5. There are many laws with the potential of being abused, and this is one of them. There is no process for the accused to mount a defense until his guns are already confiscated. And worse yet, as the case already mentioned, it puts the person in a potential life-and-death situation, before he is found guilty of anything. I say if there is enough cause to take someone's weapons, then there is enough cause to get the person locked up and evaluated. If the eval clears him, he should then be cleared of all charges, record expunged, and his property returned, if they even take it in the first place since he will be locked up with no access. It should not cost the accused a single cent to try and recover what is already his, that is just a BS feel good legislation with more negatives than positives IMO..

  7. The BR9 got discussed in the Tisas 1911 thread. Why? Because it’s where we discuss anything Tisas. Don’t ask me why that is, I don’t know. I just know that it is. I’m just happy to have Hi Power anything discussed.

  8. Found a pretty nice IWB holster for the Taurus 617. It's a Don Hume. Found it on Ebay. With shipping it was $31 and some change. It was made for a S&W 2 inch barrel K frame but the 617 fits in it perfectly. Seems well made....good weight leather...nice stitching.....metal clip.

  10. Looks like you have 5.56 pretty well covered, so I would go with the AR-9, they are a blast to shoot. I got the entire upper from PSA, similar to this one, under 3 when it was on sale. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-pa-9-gen4-10-5-9mm-1-10-nitride-12-slanted-m-lok-railed-upper-with-bcg-ch-5165450304.html

  11. The reason that scared me so much Doug was the fact you couldn't give your firearms to a family member or friend or sell them to a friend. You had to give them up to a gun shop or the police.

  14. 10 minutes ago I would've said 'nothing' but I just went to my ammo cupboard to load the truck for a range trip & now I'm sat here, literally dumbfounded by the amount of .22lr ammo I seem to have amassed. I guess I'm a collector of that now. Funny thing is, I don't remember having actually bought any for years, it's all come with guns I've bought or traded for.

  16. As a kid had comics, coins, stamps and baseball cards. Don't know where they are but if I could find them all probably worth millions of dollars. Today it is tee shirts and baseball caps. Worth about 2 cents.

  17. My wife has the original HS2000 that was re-badged as the XD. It's had a lot of cheap ammo go through it, and never missed a beat. No idea of the round count. I doubt it's as high as my 60000 round CZ75b. But certainly over 20000.

  20. Take it from a veteran Aldi shopper, if you like it,check the expiration and then stack it deep. A lot of the stuff they have is temporary and just when you get in love poof it's gone. I'm curious of the sugar content. Like you I can guzzle good sauce but then find out it's basically hot corn syrup lol.

  21. If the accused is found not to be a threat the accuser should have to pay for the accused defense and time lost. A hostile neighbor , relative or disgruntled employee can claim you are a threat for no good reason and cost you a chunk of money.

  22. For me it boils down to when they take the firearms. If a person is flagged, goes through due process and is found dangerous. Then they can take their guns. However, if a flagged person's guns are confiscated first and then they have to go through the process, it becomes guilty until proven innocent. That I want no part of. Honestly, the whole idea of "Red Flag" laws scares the Hell outta me. The potential for abuse is mind boggling.

  23. After reading about that fiascal that took place in Maryland over RED FLAG law I think it is "NOT" a good idea for Tennessee. Like they say: "Give them an inch and you will be sorry you did!!" I know it's not exactly the saying but that is what normally happens. Most of us know that the law that gets introduced for us to see is not the law that gets passed. Words get changed here and there while passing through committee and the law that gets approved and passed is done before it is made and put up for public viewing. By then it's to late. This reminds me of the statement "You have to sign it to see whats in it!" You all saw what came out of that one. I won't agree with any Law that does not give the person being accused of an issue their day in court prior to the invasion of their homes to take their guns. Not because some distant extended family member just saying he has guns and is dangerous. That is what got the man killed in Maryland. During that day in court the accuser of said problem must be present in the court room and have to face the accused. Yes!! that would mean Innocent until proven Guility which is how our legal system is suppose to operate. If they want that kind of law, write it and then make it totally public for all to see and then put it on a ballot in the next election and let the people decide what is best for us. So it can't be changed in Committee and then we wil know for sure what we will be getting in the bill. If you are thinking I don't trust elected officials you are 100% correct, especially when they say it is a bipartisan bill. I also think like Chuck when it comes to getting in contact with your elected officials and asking questions and when folks get replies have a thread here to compare the replies from what you get from who you contact and see how many of them are on the same page and how many are out in left field somewhere.

  25. All the years of off and on illegally possessing, just used whatever hollow point I saw first. Did some research when I first got permit and went with Golden Sabre, also 'cause local cops used it. Built up a stash over time so have just stayed with it, don't shoot it up often. I'm sure it will still be adequate if I do my part. - OS

  26. First off, I'm new here, and this is my first post. I think with most any manufacturer, (Tisas or anyone else), you can get a good product, and you can also get a POS. And cost alone in itself does not control that. And this includes a lot of top American manufacturers. Anyone remember the S&W Sigma, or the Colt All American 2000? Or some of the dog POS pistols Ruger has put out over the years? A big part of the problem today are all of the blogs and You Tube "experts" out there, many of which wouldn't know a good weapon if they had one in their hand. They wind up putting a LOT of bad information out there. Back to Tisas. Using myself as an example, I recently purchased a Tisas Regent BR-9 Stainless Steel Hi-Power clone from Brownell's. It has proven to be an excellent, high quality pistol thus far. Excellent machining with very few tool marks inside both the frame and slide. And very good slide to frame fit. And a very good trigger. Especially considering the gun has a magazine safety, which is known to increase the trigger pull on Hi-Power's. The gun digested 400 rounds of 4 different types of 9 MM ammunition without a single FTF or FTE. And that included 100 rounds of Federal 9BPLE +P+ Hollow Points. With that said I did purchase the Tisas BR-9 Essential Reliability Kit from BH Spring Solutions. It give you an extra extractor, firing pin retaining plate, as well as all the necessary springs and roll pins to replace them. I have 2 other Browning Hi-Powers, and it can never hurt to have extra parts available. But as of yet they have not been needed. I know 400 rounds isn't a tell all, but it's a damn good start. So as is the case with most manufacturers, it really isn't fair to judge them on a single product. https://bhspringsolutions.com/tisas-br9-hi-power-/358-tisas-br9-hi-power-essential-kit.html And After 400 Rounds

  27. Details are sketchy at best right now but this is what I can gather. Husband goes to dentist office where his wife works. Shoots his wife. unfortunately it has been announced she did not survive. A patient in the waiting room drew his weapon and shot the aggressor several time and held him at gunpoint until the police responded 6 mins later. The aggressors condition had not been released. ID of all involved is being withheld at this time. Wcyb and Wjhl seem to be following closely if you want to read more.
