  2. I would feel comfortable with any of my .357's with a 4 inch barrel or longer but a .44 would give some extra thump if you can do follow up shots accurately after the added recoil. You could even find some less than full power loads with a little research to tame the recoil. If you decide to purchase a .44 though just go ahead and get a magnum rated gun, you can still shoot .44 special in it.

  3. A mean hog in combat needs to be thumped with a big bullet. A .44 magnum would be the best choice if it was me. A varient of the S&W 29 would absolutely be a great, classic choice. They also now make a 5 shot L-frame .44 which is a bit smaller and lighter.

  4. I'd like to have one. But, I'd only shoot .38s out of it.

  5. Thanks, after reading your review and a couple others online, I bought one. Found a coupon for another $10 off, $88.20 delivered. Already arrived and I have played a bit. Haven't had time to do a lot with it but should help trigger control. May even try some holster draws. I debated on what caliber to get and finally decided on .380 since my Ruger is where I need the most work. I figured there was a good chance it might also work in my 9s and if it didn't I order another laser if it looked like I would use it. Works fine in my Glock 19 and KelTec Sub 2000. No ejection grove so will not work with my LCR 9mm with moon clips but the 9mm laser wouldn't either since if they put the grove in the semis would eject it.

  6. Just got finished with the belt, the holster and mag pouch were done a while ago , but I wanted to photo them all together. Holster and pouch are left hand Avenger style for a GLOCK 43.

  7. So, they are trying to pass House Bill 1264 which creates a new Concealed (only) Carry Permit and makes the current one an "Enhanced" Permit. I think this is a crock of excrement, why not just pass a constitutional carry law instead? Seems like it's a $$ grab, or/and a bone to throw out there to keep/garner our support. Am I missing something? Second issue, so you guys may or may not of heard that SCOTUS has just accepted a 2A case which may have major implications, hopefully, it will go our way. But you know what...not one peep from the NRA, only GOA sent info on it and TFA, which lent it's support to GOA, yet they sent me an email urging support for this law. I'm fixing to start bombarding the NRA with emails and phone calls to see why they aren't stepping into the ring. They should be busy backing each and every case which can, and should, land with SCOTUS. Like this one: https://www.kansas.com/news/politics-government/article126014949.html

  9. That is the money you give .gov to use all year with no fees paid to you. Me, I keep .gov's money all year to do as I wish with no fees paid to .gov. We have not done ours yet. like waiting till April.

  11. There's certainly nothing wrong with having a .44 Special or .44 Magnum -- every honest American should own one -- but I think a .357 with a 4-6" barrel and shooting 158-gr bullets would adequately dissuade porkers. Now, if you were looking for an excuse to buy a new .44, then the .357 is hopelessly inadequate and you owe it to yourself and your family to get a nice S&W Model 29 to protect yourself. Hope this helps, Whisper

  13. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/02/21/benchmade-helps-destroy-guns/ I don't see what they did as wrong at all...now I don't know about their actual politics but I understand why they helped the local sheriff as they probably had torches and cutters available that most shops do not. I don't own any benchmade knives but if any of you are outraged that do i'll be happy to take those anti-2a pieces of junk off your hands.

  14. 10-4 on that. I would like to know the story behind that one. I know HK specifically says in the User's Manual to only use brass. Anything else and HK's don't like it. You have to really work hard to break an HK.

  15. 38's would work just fine but I like the option of .357 for bear country. I use the Gold Dot short barrel .357's in the snub version with not much more recoil than .38+p so I'm sure the recoil won't be any worse in the 3 inch model, probably less. In bear country though I would use 180 grain hardcast rounds and live with the extra recoil. Hopefully I wouldn't have to use it though.

  16. No wall equals new Democratic voters. More Democratic votes equals more power. The rest is collateral damage. The Democrats using their Alinsky playbook, "The ends justify the means".

  17. Speaking of buying politicians backfiring, Surefire is the next company finding itself in the crosshairs for supporting a bunch of anti-gun Dems.

  20. The wall is like a locked door. It may discourage a lot of people from trying to scale it but it won't stop all of them just like a locked door won't stop everyone but it will stop at least 80-85% of them. Border security can handle the rest. Right now the border is an unlocked door that is almost a wide open door..............

  24. In Mississippi, you can legally carry on K-12 and college property with an enhanced carry license. Also, someone in Mississippi with an enhanced carry license cannot get a weapons charge for a 'no guns' sign. A private property owner of course can still ask you to leave and still trespass you if you do not leave. From what I understand about the only place you cannot legally carry there with the enhanced license is an actual courtroom (the courthouse is ok) and maybe police stations and prisons. People can take the same 8 hour classes in Memphis that people take for the Tennessee handgun carry permit class and get a Mississippi enhanced concealed license. Regular licenses in Mississippi do not require training but do require background check and fingerprinting. You can also carry concealed there without a license as long as the handgun is in a holster. The enhanced license bill in TN would be a good deal if it legalizes K-12 and college property carry and removes the no gun sign weapons charge.

  27. I think I got you all beat. . . Back before Black Friday when Academy was selling 22LR Federal that worked out to around 2.5c/rd after rebate, I ordered 4 cases from their site. I only got 4 because I was able to get 1 case of .45ACP in store and the rebate was only good for 5 cases. . . Imagine my surprise when two FedEx boxes were delivered with 4 cases of 22LR in each box. Packing slips show two shipment #s on the same order #. I double-checked PayPal, only charged once. Now I'm an honest guy so I called Academy. The CSR couldn't figure out what happened and didn't show a double shipment. He said hang on a minute, then about 5 minutes later came back and said "Christmas came early. Enjoy." WOOHOO!
