  1. I have 2 friends that are...I don't know how they do it honestly.

  2. It Could be. But not only are you going to have collectors there; you are going to have a bunch of dealers. This is all “no reserve”, so all these cars are going to be sold; that attracts a lot of people.

  3. I have been described as a OF..(Old Fart) by my grandkids. Cantankerous by Wife, and a good friend by those who I spend time with. I reload, fish, do a little hunting and spend lots of time at the range. Long time member of The Firearms Forum, and recently became a Range officer at my Gun club in Johnson City TN.

  5. Sounds like a mag problem to me. Take that thing back to Buds and trade it for a Ruger LCP if you want a pocket .380.

  6. A friend of mine from Western NY posted this on different forum about his Ryobi battery operated blower. In New York you need a pistol permit. If there are kids in the house you must have a trigger lock or have it locked away in a gun safe. You are only allowed to use a battery with 7 cells or less. It is illegal to use the big batteries with more than one row of cells. I installed a gun safe in my shop so I could have easy access to it to blow the sawdust off my table saw.

  7. Forgot to add that I don't mess with the reduced TRS unless I'm going full Pro package. FWIW - I have a fully Pro packaged SP-01 Tactical that has a SA pull of 2 lbs with the 11.5# spring and DA is under 5#. Smooth as freaking butter.

  8. Depends on the DA, but my WAG is that Officer is headed to trial. If he was in Nashville the Mayor would tell the DA to charge him with murder.

  10. I can tell you what color paint a 1920 Ford Model T came in just from a pic of the interior...

  11. Cautionary note...If you ever find yourself removing the steering wheel from a 1948 Plymouth. I had already removed all the interior and I was seated on a 5 gallon bucket removing the steering wheel. I managed to finally get the main nut off and could not get the dang steering wheel to budge. After about an hour of fighting with and staring at it I smacked the steering wheel with my hand out of frustration. I woke up about 30 minutes later flat on my back with my face covered in blood and a pounding headache. It seems that under that nut is a flat steel coil spring about 3 inch diameter under a a lot of tension. After 50 years it had frozen in place...until I smacked the steering wheel. Lesson learned. The wheel lug nuts turn clockwise for removal...but that's another story.

  13. When our kids were younger and wanted something more than we had the money for they would tell mom "just write a check". That is our standard reply if we don't have the money for some big ticket item. Thanks Greg, now I will have to buy a lottery ticket in order to just write a check. LOL

  17. What are these Dick's Sporting Goods stores you speak of?
    1 point
  18. Yes, they make several scope rail systems for it. The rear sight comes off exposing the screws for the base. I haven't scoped mine yet, but at some point I'm going to. Be sure to use a steel base and rings of good quality. SSK Industries make some of the best, but they're expensive. I've heard some Aluminum bases won't hold up to the recoil of this gun in .308. They also make a .30-06 barrel for it as well. I got mine from a local dealer through Davidson's Gallery Of Guns. Just go to www.galleryofguns.com and punch in your zip code. Dealers will show up within a 25 mile radius of your house, and you can purchase from any one of them.

  24. Eliminators were made in 1969 and 1970. By the VIN this '68 Cougar was originally a 302-4v car. The "Torino" is actually a Fairlane, but from the VIN does appear to have been a factory 428 car, if it truly is a matching numbers car it will probably (depending on condition) bring some decent money. I don't know enough about Pontiacs to comment on the Gran Prix. From what I can see in the listing, most of these cars have been either mildly, or in some cases extensively modified from stock. Except in rare cases, modified cars don't bring the same money as highly optioned original cars in good condition. There does appear to be some nice looking cars in this auction, but the lack of presentation in the online listings makes the overall condition difficult to ascertain, and the location of the auction is questionable at best if the owner is looking for top dollar on these cars. Having said that, it's still an interesting auction and I'm looking forward to how it turns out. Thanks to grenintenn for linking this ...

  25. The SCOTUS will never uphold this ruling. However, the anti-gunners can bankrupt these companies with legal costs. If this isn’t stopped now; they will all be in trouble.

  26. Does this mean that if a person gets killed in a car accident that was 100% driver error the family of the deceased can sue the auto maker?

  27. Some of the bribes were sent in through a phony charity. Then they deducted the charitable donation on their taxes. That is going to cause them more problems than the bribe and could be why the bond was so high.

  33. The saga continues. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT - TAURUS Spectrum 380 I just got back from TAURUS as "repaired" on Mar 7 for mainly a Fail to Fire. That fix seems pretty good (still had 2 Fail to Fire on first test THU, Mar 7) in like near 100 rounds (just realized it was 68 round test, not that it matters). HOWEVER, THU, Mar 14, had many many Fail to Feed (nearly every round). That after having not one Fail to Feed at BUD's Range last THU. The bullet lodges head first and level into the feed ramp (puts a gouge in the front of the bullet just above the point of the bullet). It is also still in the MAG, found can rack the slide back a fraction and it loads. So, it's shoot, rack, shoot, rack, shoot - etc.etc. GROAN It did load on maybe 5 of 20 rounds. Mostly good advice on here - get rid of it. I really don't need it (don't care for 380s), just bought it cause of wanting to get rid of the High Point 380 and the deal of trading the Hi Point for a $135 gun - was $169,99 minus a $35 rebate). IT IS a CUTE Little Thing (LOL), has good ergonomics and thought I might have a use for a Pocket Carry some day (doubtful) despite more expensive AMMO. It is kind of fun to shoot (would be nice if it all worked every time). Anyway, I might mess with it awhile by contacting Taurus again, or adjust the Feed Ramp (thinking of filing a sort of u-shape at bottom of the ramp - might loose the warranty on that) or open the lip on the MAG. One guy bent his MAG opening to allow the bullets to be sloped up more and solved his problem. That said, my first round appears to set at a good angle, the subsequent ones set in the MAG to level, but would think they would get angled up when they move to the first position. PS: DANG Hard to Understand why a gun would NO Fail to Feed and a week later Fail to Feed say 80% of the time and just rack it a slight amount and the round loads OK. Shoot, Rack Shoot, Rack ain't good, it is kind of like a bolt action self defense gun. LOL
