  1. Last week I had the pleasure to sit down with one of the heroes of the attack on the US Diplomatic Consulate in Benghazi, Dave "Boon" Benton. He likely needs no introduction to anyone on TGO, but he and his brothers in arms had their fight for survival chronicled in both a book and a movie bearing the 13 Hours title. Boon and one of his partners in a new venture, retired Deputy Sheriff Bill Orndorf, chatted with me for a little more than an hour about the dynamics of fighting from within, in, and around vehicles. To say that it was a privilege to speak with Boon and have him share his time, expertise, and knowledge to make us all a little better prepared to fight to win in a terrible situation would be a gross understatement. He's seriously one of the most humble heroes I've had the chance to speak with, and is quick to dismiss all of it as him being a part of a group of men just doing a job that they were hired to do. Hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed being able to do it! https://www.shootersnation.com/podcast/0046-dave-boon-benton-and-bill-orndorf-on-vehicle-defense-concepts-for-civilians-and-leo/

  2. I have been wanting a nice O/U for a while. I sold some guns and saved my pennies and bought this Zoli. Took her out and shot some sporting clays today.

  5. The coins you have sound like what is commonly known as "junk silver". It is sold and traded in much the same way as bullion. Don't expect to get full melt value, but generally it trades for not too far off. The most common way it's bought and sold is by the "bag", which typically means $1000 face value (i.e. 4k quarters, 10k dimes, etc.) but you can sell it in lesser quantities as well. Be advised as you go through it, except for really rare date/mint mark coins which are not in "mint state" condition are hard to sell as collectibles and will rarely bring the prices listed on the typical websites and books, these prices are pretty much what retail coin shops get for them and the wholesale value is much less ...

  6. When liquidating, do your research! Knowledge is power, you will be ready to deal. I look at gold and silver, as a bartering tool. With all the hacking, old infrastructure and terror. You never know when the grid might go down.

  7. On the coins look for certain mint marks such as S which is San Francisco, and if you have any Morgan dollars CC which is Carson City are very collectible and more valuable. Certain coins that are in very good shape could be valuable too.

  8. I haven’t specifically shot a LMT, but the AR-10 would be my choice if I could only have one rifle. (Luckily that isn’t the case) I had a DPMS 308 Panther, and currently have a GII Recon. Long range, short range, and a bunch of firepower; they do it all. The .308 is the most versatile center fire rifle round known to man; that helps a lot. My funniest AR-10 story…. I was at the range shooting my AR-15. There was a couple next to me. The man was teaching the woman how to shoot (It appeared). He had her shooting a .22 and he was shooting an AR-15. I switched to the 308 Panther and cranked off a couple of rounds. When I looked up the woman was standing next to me and asked “What in the world is that?” I told her it was a 308 Panther. With a big beaming smile she looked at the guy she was with and said “I want a 308 Panther!” The look he gave me was not one of amusement.

This has been our favorite for years, made with Scotch Bonnets and mustard (really adds depth to the flavor): https://www.amazon.com/Susies-Original-Hot-Sauce-5oz/dp/B006Y3PU2A/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_3?crid=3O0D4Q9DDCA&keywords=susie's+hot+sauce&qid=1552833765&s=gateway&sprefix=Susie's%2Caps%2C232&sr=8-3-fkmrnull

  13. Swai is tasty, you can buy frozen filets at Kroger. If you have a Costco membership, look for corvina in the seafood case. Also very tasty and reasonably priced.

  14. I believe this to be quite accurate. A corner stone of stability in western civilization is the nuclear family models. This is why the natural outcome of the Great Society programs that pushed fathers out of the homes is what you have in urban neighborhoods where gang violence is the norm and in excess of 70% of children born out of wedlock. Patriarchal monogamy was one of the primary drivers that led to the ascent of western civilization, and the very successful attacks on it over the last half century are a primary reason we are in decline.

  15. Gangs offer father figures to young men and boys, a nuclear family of sorts, that supposedly kids actually want. Replace Dad with .gov as the "in lieu of absent parent," you have created a recruiting model.

  20. I can tell you what color paint a 1920 Ford Model T came in just from a pic of the interior...

  21. Cautionary note...If you ever find yourself removing the steering wheel from a 1948 Plymouth. I had already removed all the interior and I was seated on a 5 gallon bucket removing the steering wheel. I managed to finally get the main nut off and could not get the dang steering wheel to budge. After about an hour of fighting with and staring at it I smacked the steering wheel with my hand out of frustration. I woke up about 30 minutes later flat on my back with my face covered in blood and a pounding headache. It seems that under that nut is a flat steel coil spring about 3 inch diameter under a a lot of tension. After 50 years it had frozen in place...until I smacked the steering wheel. Lesson learned. The wheel lug nuts turn clockwise for removal...but that's another story.
