  1. My guess is that 1911 belongs to an Officer from the West Point Class of 2015.

  2. Firstly, I had permission to post this. One of my buddies at work who is ex military, well his best friend sent him a picture recently, I think he is from some sort of special forces unit, and apparently he has been taking care of some business for us all in a certain middle eastern country! I did not edit the photo in any way apart from rotate it and making sure there was no serial numbers on the 1911. Enjoy!

  3. Ruger has finally released this fantastic take-down carbine in the mighty .40 and a 9mm version with a free float hand guard. https://www.ruger.com/products/pcCarbine/models.html

  4. I plan to keep writing them. Those emails they send back that you know came from an intern with an auto signature can be useful when writing back to them again and pinning them down to get a more direct answer to my questions. They can't just resend the same form letter so eventually maybe the actual question asked will get a more direct reply.........JMHO

  5. You've made an excellent choice for a first 1911. You just can't go wrong with a Colt. If you're not already aware, the difference in the Series 80 is that it has a passive firing pin block safety where earlier 70 Series models didn't. Some people like to complain that it messes up the trigger pull, but I've never felt enough difference to worry about it. No big deal really. Buy good magazines. 1911s don't like junk mags. If you plan to use the gun for self defense or carry, I highly recommend Wilson Combat magazines. They are expensive, but worth every penny. These are the only mags I use for competition or carry. For just everyday range use there are plenty of good cheaper mags that will serve you well. Metalform makes the Colt factory mags and you can buy them cheaper straight from the company. Other than that, you have just a basic, but very good 1911. Shoot it and enjoy! BTW: we want pictures!

  6. Absolutely not. I write and email a lot. Sometimes I get canned replies, sometimes the concern is addressed specifically, sometimes no response. Doesn't matter. I look at voting records to get my answer. Actions ALWAYS speak louder than words. Most people think it's a waste of time but look at all the things that have been changed (good and bad) due to popular demand.

  7. SGAammo is usually the best but brownells occasionally has a good sale on certain ammo with free shipping which is the best value I see online. I only buy by the case, only decent brass cased and pretty much just 9mm or 22lr.

  10. Unfortunately, hunting after dark is illegal in Tennessee. You are allowed to shoot them up to 30 minutes after sunset if I recall the regulations. Check here to make sure you keep it between the lines: https://www.tn.gov/twra/hunting.html Generally coyote hunting is done right at sunset using calls that emulate wounded prey (my wife HATES the rabbit squeal). Electronic calls and decoys can also help. They are pretty tricky critters so it's not going to be easy. There's a TON of videos on youtube... this one isn't bad as a high level introduction:https://youtu.be/HsvTkZb94Vo Now, all that being said: one of the most successful coyote hunters I know is my cousin. All he does is keep a scoped .22 by a window w/ a view on the chicken coop. He inevitably catches them sniffing around the fence and stacks them up with monotonous regularity. A good scope or binoculars should let you confirm that you are shooting a coyote during legal hours. The other alternative is trapping... personally I have had zero success with traps, but your mileage may vary. Good luck!

  11. You're nuts..... Interesting video. I readily admit my knowledge of the AR platform is small, but I am willing to learn. For me to be concerned about heat on my two AR platforms, I would have to be sending a lot more lead downrange, a lot faster than I normally do.
