  1. Last week I went to E. Tennessee and got to check-out Smokey Mountain Knife Works and Buds Guns. SMKW was much larger than I expected. There had to be over 100 people working there! It was huge. I had always wanted an Old School NAVY KA-BAR so I decided to pick one up while I was there. I also found that they have a “Big Brother” to the traditional KA-BAR; so I got it also.

  2. As a general rule of thumb in Tennessee, and generally any rural areas as well: the further you get from town the more likely you are to find thieves, drug addicts, etc. It's a trade off, but cities have rampant theft. Some suburbs are pretty void of that kind of thing, but I have no desire to live there. I take my chances in the country, lock my stuff up, use cameras as necessary, and attempt to have a reputation with that ilk of people that they are better off to mess around somewhere else.

  3. They won't change the minds of Democrats in Congress, but I have a feeling they'd change the Republicans back into rabid 2A supporters again. Seems we only have a defense of gun rights when the "other side" is leading the charge against.

  4. No, because we are too busy worrying about tornados. And tornados don’t give two about building codes.

  5. Too young for EBT and too smart to hold a job..... ho hum. And the neighborhood only sees one of their disrespected "robin" hoods gunned down. Like I'v said before, these cities are fatal cancers to the root of our social liberties. Only the book of Revelation will tighten this all up. JMO.

  6. I have been selling Pro-Tech knives since 2014 in that time I have seen some of the finest custom knives I could imagine, but yesterday I brokered a deal for one of my clients on what I consider one of the absolute best custom knives made, this TR3 in inlaid with 24Karet Gold and has a solid gold 1/4 ounce bullion coin inlaid it is absolutely stunning

  7. Custer's last words? Actually, the difference between 5.11 and TruSpec. When not working, I am usually wearing tacti-cool pants. To the casual observer, with no other operator-like clothing or logo'd apparel and top siders, more like ubiquitous cargo pants. Add a button down shirt, patterned sport coat and nice shoes, you'd be surprised how dressy the effect can be. I started with 5.11, traded some ammo for two pairs 5 years ago. 34" waist, gave me +1/2" plus the stretch band for AIWB. Still have those pants, still serviceable. Cuffs and seams are not frayed and they have some stains. Did not follow care instructions, so never turned inside out to wash. This probably washed out the Teflon faster than normal. Bought a third pair, $49.99 everywhere. Have since lost some weight and switched to OWB, can still cinch down the 34s without excess fabric gathering. Strolling through SMKW, I see Tru-Spec, $39.95. For $10 cheaper, I'll try out a blue pair. Belt loops in slightly different positions, stretchy part is hidden within the band, all the pockets have Velcro fasteners. Wore the Tru-Specs to a carbine class in the rain. 1. The Teflon did an amazing job of repelling water. I assume equal performance with a fresher pair of 5.11s 2. Discovered the large cargo pockets are subdivided, so I was easily able to stow and move with 4 - 30 round .30cal carbine mags. 3. The front pocket slash is slightly smaller than the 5.11s 4. Depending on what your activity is, each has benefits. 5.11 with large front and rear pocket slashes make it easy to access and stow extra mags or gear. Tru-Spec allows for secure storage, but not as easy to access the flapped and Velcro'd back pockets. I also have better access for front pocket carry with the 5.11s

  8. His eyes and teeth are too bright and it’s freaking me out a little. The Hodge Twins did a video similar. The problem with those videos is that don’t really accomplish anything. The right wing white fellers just say “he’s one of the good ones,” and the folks rioting call them uncle toms or worse. My biggest issue with this stuff is that it does a great disservice to Philando Castile or the fella in NY that was choked to death. They get lumped in with this stuff and it makes the real stories, the real issues watered down by the bull crap.

  9. Depending on how your home is wired for cable, it might not be that much of an effort. Look into where the cable jacks are currently running from the box outside. This is what I did... In my old place, there were four drops for the townhouse I was renting...one for each bedroom, one for the living room, and one inexplicably for the upstairs hallway. So I set up the outdoor antenna in my back porch area, then ran a heavy coax cable (about $15 bucks for a 50' good outdoor one) from the antenna to the drop for the living room. I moved my cable modem to the upstairs hallway, resulting in free over the air TV in my living room by using the cable wiring in the house, and Wifi broadcasting from upstairs to use Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, and all the rest on Roku on the TV as well, taking advantage of the work that was already put into the house to rig it for cable in each room.

  10. Pretty much any city that is run by a bunch of Democrats!! Not that politics has anything to do with it, just seems like anywhere Democrats are in power this sort of thing is old hat. Take Detroit, D.C., L.A., Memphis, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, St. Louis. For almost half a century the 3 most violent cities have had uninterrupted Democrat control. Go figure??

  11. You!! Buy it and put it on Chickamauga Lake. It has a well deck area that you could fill with ice and beer for your friends. It doesn’t need a dock; just run it aground when you make another beer run for us.

  12. I agree; it wouldn't be a good life choice for you. EDIT for clarity: Police don't always get the right house. As long as they identify themselves as police you are criminally liable for shooting at them. That is if you survive the confrontation.

  13. Well, I'm not a felon nor have I ever committed an act that would cause the police to have reason to enter my home. Therefore, should someone invade my home claiming to be LE it would NOT be a good life choice.

  16. A friend of mine lived in a subdivision that was having a rash of home breakins and they thought it was kids doing it until one day a young lady was home sick from work and her car was in the garage when they kicked in the back door while she was laying down in a bedroom in the back of the house. She heard them talking and call 911 as she quietly got her Glock 9 mm out of the night stand. She didn't say anything to the 911 operator but theoperator heard all the shots and told the police that shots had been fired. She said later that she was in fear for her life till she got the Glock and then she was in fear of their lives. Her worst fears came true when two big men came running into the bedroom. She never hesitated. she began popping caps and both men went down and a third broke and ran and a neighbor saw them break in and had already called the police and they caught the third guy while he was running for the getaway vehicle. Neither one in the bedroom needed emergency assistance. They needed the coroner wagon and body bags. These were all men in mid to upper 20's. That ended all the home breakins in that subdivision. All it takes is one wrong house and that day they picked the wrong house.

  18. This isn’t an exhortation to vote for Democrats, but one to stop believing and trusting Republican politicians when they say they support your 2A rights. They don’t. They just want your votes and have no qualms about lying to you to get them.

  19. Yep, With a bunch of 5.56 holes to help him come to room temperature. I hear people all the time talk about just trying to scare someone out of their house..... Man, if they are in my house uninvited that's more than enough reason for me to protect my family. God only knows what that person is capable of.

  21. I double check all of my doors before going to bed to make sure they are locked and dead bolted. Windows have never been unlocked since I have lived here almost 20 years. I did add wooden doll rods to each window track so it won't slide upward. If anyone gets in my house they will have to break something to get in period. One simple kick on my doors won't get it done I have the security dead bolts that go through the door frame and into the wood the door frame is mounted to. If they do get inside they will still be inside when the police arrive. Most likely bleeding and maybe not breathing but that will be entirely their drcision. Will just depend on how stupid they really are!!!

  22. If he’s in my house uninvited then there is no question about his intentions. They’d have carried him out in a body bag if it was my house.

  24. To your point, thats why I'm wondering who even wants to be a cop in these times...

  25. That is an amazing story. It reminds me of the autopsy photos we were shown at my department of a guy that took (14-19?) rounds on 9mm in solid body hits. He didn’t know it yet, but he was dead, and he was still standing returning fire. As that Officer discovered the will to live and an adrenaline rush is a strong thing; for both of them. The Newhall incident, The Miami shootout, The North Hollywood shootout, what happened to Sergeant Gramins, Pulse night club, Vegas shooting, the Waffle House shooting, and many others teach us that given the chance bad guys will kill you in a heartbeat. And while having that beat into your head there are those that want you to wait those precious seconds with an armed criminal to see what he will do. Yep, the Nashville DA and Mayor should be ashamed of themselves. Heck with that, when a criminal threatens someone with a gun their rights end. I suspect a jury will agree. If they don’t, we are all in danger, not only from the criminals, but from the legal system being used as a political weapon to help people get elected. Cops get tired of fighting both sides.

  26. So, if you believe that is its only purpose; it has failed miserably. If you believe it is in place to overthrow our tyrannical government; so be it. But guns would only be part of that issue. The biggest part of that issue would be getting Americans to fight for a tyrannical government; it wouldn’t happen. More than likely it would be a case of a group of nut cases (could be small or large) that have decided our government is tyrannical now and it is their job to overthrow it. They would die wherever they make their stand. They wouldn’t have the manpower, and they certainly wouldn’t have the weapons to take on our military and the private citizens that are Patriots. However, If you believe its only purpose it to overthrow a tyrannical government, more specifically ours; that would certainly make it easy for the SCOTUS to rule that states control where when and what you carry off your property. It also lets the wind out of the sails of those that think the 2nd amendment allows them to carry a gun off their property. Unfortunately, inalienable rights have no teeth. There are no laws that recognize that our Police Departments are reactive; not proactive and can only respond after the damage is done. Too many people believe that cops being pro-active might violate someone rights. Our right to be armed with deadly weapons because criminals that live in our area are armed with deadly weapons is not recognized. At some point I suspect that will change. But it will have to get much worse, and the group of victims will have to get much larger before people understand that LE and armed Citizens can take out criminals without violating their Constitutional Rights.

  27. The 2nd Amendment is just fine as is, but self defense has nothing to do with the 2A. As you said, the right to self defense is inalienable, and applies no matter what, or who. The 2nd Amendment is there to protect us against the Government if it should become tyrannical, so the Government should have no say so on how it applies, whether State or Federal.

  30. Height is your friend for indoor stuff, away from electrical interference of wires that run thru walls. Had an initial problem with ABC. Ghetto attached with painters tape to the arch of a vaulted ceiling about 12 ft high on the second story and full strength. Wife asked about a better solution than painters tape...I tell her its long term testing unless she grows a fondness for ladders sometime soon
