  1. A gunsmith I know had this response for me when I asked about 380 vs 9mm: "Wait here. I'm going to go stand at that end of the counter, and I'll shoot you with a 380. We'll see how effective it is." For folks who can't make a 9mm work for whatever reason, it's a good option. Those people do exist, and they have a right to self defense even if (especially if) they're not a strong as you or I may happen to be. Any round that someone is willing and able to practice with enough to become proficient is better for that shooter than any other round which they're not willing or able to practice with. As I said before, the 9mm version of the 380 EZ is already on the market as the Shield. That's about as good as they're going to be able to make it, because physics.

  2. Picked up one of these S&W EZ 380s from Academy a while back for 329.00. This is the version without thumb safety. It does everything a .380 is supposed to but easier: 1) shoots fast to point of aim (recoil is negligible) 2)reliable 3) mags are the easiest center pistol mags I have ever loaded 4) You can rack the slide with two fingers. It is not as small as my Keltec P32 but it is so easy to grab and shoot. I can't begin to recall all the small handguns I have owned, including various ultra light revolvers. This thing beats them all in terms of ease of use. I am not getting younger. A review: https://dailycaller.com/2018/06/28/gun-test-sw-mp-380-shield-ez/

  5. Nope....sorry...didn't happen. It was dark brown. I'm sure of that because I read it on the World Wide Web.

  7. Gen 4 G21’s are SF size without the add-on backstraps. It’s what I have and it is basically a pez dispenser of ammo it’s so easily to shoot.

  8. I like it, but this core offering is a blend of several finished bourbons, so if you’re a fan of finished whiskey, you’ll probably like it...if you’re not a fan, then maybe not. Is it worth a C-note...probably not, but everything special or limited edition in bourbon these days is getting more expensive these days.

  9. What you perceive to be black is actually a very dark brown. Black does not naturally occur in nature because it's the absolute absence of reflected light.

  12. Not sure how I missed this until today. But wanted to say that you are a blessing. God is using you in more ways than you can imagine.

  13. Actually I'm not worried about 200 and probably not 300. Its that 600 yard target that concerns me. This rifle is a bit picky about ammo. With M80 it generally shoots about 2" at 100. I want to work up a good sub-MOA load just to be sure. I'm in no hurry. There's no timetable or schedule. Its just something that I'd like to try.

  15. Very few things can be explained completely with a few typed lines. As Dave pointed out, your home is not automatically a free kill zone. While the law weighs heavily to the homeowner, your flashlight is a very important tool in the middle of the night. Daytime or night, you still need to recognize your target/intruder. Is it a relative? A drunk student or neighbor that wandered into your home, but otherwise not a threat. A 14 yo who entered on a dare. Is it someone you can live with yourself if you kill them, or will it haunt you the rest of your life, especially if you shot the 14yo in the back running out of your house? Lots of questions with complicated answers to make in a blink of an eye. Again a huge responsibility for a gun owner.

  16. Who in their right mind waters their yard? Just creates more useless work for themselves or have to pay for some one to cut the grass. Tomatoes, cukes thriving, bell peppers coming on. Grass took over my okra and purple hull pea patch, will have to bush hog it down. Blue berries ripening now, squirrels will get my peaches as soon as they start to get ripe. Have found the local farmers market to be more efficient for sweet corn than growing it myself.

  17. I don't care if someone wants to steal my car (so long as I am not in it), but mess with my dog and no one may ever know where you went.

  18. You are not justified in the use of deadly force to protect property. If someone threatens you with a gun you are no longer protecting property; you are protecting your life. The fact they have a gun means nothing; unless they use it or threaten you with it. My own personal test for the use of deadly force is very simple and would, I think, apply to most states. The use of deadly force would be justified if a reasonable person would believe they were in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. Keep in mind that what a “reasonable person” believes doesn’t mean anyone cares what you were thinking; they don’t. It means a jury will decide if they thought what you did was reasonable to them. You can’t shoot someone and know you won’t kill them; so that is not addressed in the law. Shooting them assumes deadly force. Part of taking care of your family means staying out of prison and not financially bankrupting your family with a criminal trial. You probably don’t own any property that is worth risking that. Now having said that let me add this… I was a Police Officer in a time where we could shoot people committing or fleeing forcible felonies. Those times are past and you, nor the Police can do that anymore. We need that changed back. Our laws need to protect the victim; not the offender.

  19. Start a movement for the "protect the hearing of hunting dogs." Unless they're hypocrites, every animal rights activist should be all in. These pups were breed to hunt, are you willing to deny them the right to what is their preferred dog life style? Do you not care about their quality of life being impacted by hearing loss or damage after retirement? Dog have rights too.

  21. Three 5 shot groups: 200 yards - 6" 300 yards - 9" 600 yards - 18" I've been told certification is mostly about safety. Making sure that the shooter can properly and safely handle the rifle and shoot reasonably well. They don't want some idiot blasting away and sending bullets over the berms to who knows where. All you have to do is look at the baffles on the 100 yard range and you'll understand their reasoning.
