  5. In November 2017 I shattered my right wrist. I Glockhad to have a titanium plate and 8 screws put in to hold it together . Then in March of 2018 the easy came out. It was the only pistol I could shoot. Unfortunately I did so much damage to my wrist I will never be able to take more recoil than the 380 ez right handed. I work at the Franklin range and I have sold a bunch of them. I still carry it when I want a thin lightweight option. They are a good tool for the design parameters. But I wanted to have more power so I started working hard and taught myself to shoot pistols left handed. I scored 482 out of 500 the first Glock match I shoot left handed. So now I shoot pistols left handed. Been difficult overcoming 30 plus years of muscle memory.

  6. Working great for me. I smoked for 44 years and stopped 4 weeks ago with the help of the Zyban. I've had few cravings and basically no symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. I could barely go an hour without jonesing for a smoke, even less when drinking coffee or beer. Everyone's mileage will vary but it seems to have helped me greatly.

  7. Why is this so hard to understand???!!?? What happens at an FFL dealer is a background check on YOU. No one gives a chit about the gun you are buying. It is in no way "registered".

  8. Looks like Sportsman's Warehouse has opened a new store in Murfreesboro. They are having a Grand Opening August 22-24. I’ve seen some of there online ads, but never bought anything from them. Any comments on them?? https://stores.sportsmans.com/sportsmans-warehouse/us/tn/murfreesboro/468-north-thompson-lane Is Sportsman's Warehouse owned by Remington?

  10. I shop at the Chattanooga store quite often. I like it. Sometimes they will have different stuff than the Cabellas/Bass pro down the street. unless they changed it since the last time I bought a gun there, they still offer layaway, and you can find good sale prices. If you’re looking for something special, they can order it. I think it’s a good store.

  11. I went to the one in Chattanooga a couple months ago, prices are competitive (?) on reloading components IMO, might find some good deals but the selection was good compared to other places. Even had some 8# jugs if that was on the shopping list. Wondered briefly thru the fishing gear, good selection, also had lots of various hunting equipment such as deer stands, clothes, etc., saw some bows as well. Can't say anything on prices on all the other stuff as I don't keep up with that.

  12. Yeah, the look and feel of the place is kinda like Dick's. Except they're not Dick's. I wouldn't necessarily drive hours each way to get there on a random Saturday, but might put in an hour each way for the Grand Opening. The knife counter at the one nearest me has a pretty good selection.

  13. A friend of mine told me about this. They opened last weekend, but Grand opening is August 22 like you said. They had police trade in Mossberg 500 shotguns for $129 Saturday. He actually stumbled on a 590 that was mixed in with the 500’s and they gave it to him for $129 because that’s what it was marked. He shopped at the Chattanooga location before and loved the store. He said they have trapping equipment for those interested. He explained it as being like a Dicks Sporting Goods with out all the non outdoorsman stuff. Can’t wait to check it out myself. Maybe this Saturday I’ll have time to run by.

  14. Looks to me like it would have been really easy to Engineer that into a recoil reducing stock at the time they designed that; without much more cost. It would be interesting to see how hard it would be to modify it.

  15. That is exactly what these bills/laws will do more and more times. If the Sheriff would have done even a little investigation before just telling the guy to turn in his guns the sheriff could have went to the judge with the proof they had served the orders on the wrong man and then focused on arresting the real bad guy instead of leaving the bad guy walk. Just a poor job of the sheriff doing the right thing........JMHO

  16. The mans carry permit was originally"suspended" by some ridiculous agricultural agency, not the sheriff. When he tried to prove it wasn't him they said he had to turn his guns. I say it was a failure of this red flag & his constitutional rights, Article V & 2.

  19. Cottage Grove not College Grove, Pop Pop. A lot of people get them confused. Sounds like progress is being made on your shooting range. Know what you mean about operating dirt moving equipment, with all the new electronic gadgets the dozer will automatically control the blade and grade using a laser. Would like to see some of these young operators try and blue top using a cable control blade

  21. Was watching a trapping video on youtube the other day and the trapper catches a few skunks in foot hold and dog proof coon traps. He said a heart/lung shot is the way he dispatches them using a 22 pistol. Said he prefers this over a head shot because in his experience they spray less. So you experience may vary from skunk to skunk. He also extracts the essence to use as trap lure.

  22. Those loins can be made into Canadian bacon pretty easy also. You can use dry cure or brining.

  23. Put the responsibility for that at the feet of the responsible party; the Sheriff. That’s not a failure of a Red Flag law, or any law. That’s the Sheriff acting on an order that he knows to be unlawful; because he knows that is not the person in that order. That’s Malfeasance in office. I suggest the Sheriff may have committed a crime.

  24. I used to have a C&R too but, there just aint much available cheap anymore.

  26. Oh, I’m fully aware of that, but I got most of the C&R guns that I wanted through the surplus market years ago. The prices in the secondary market have gotten pricey, and many sellers don’t want to accept C&R licenses, so they force you to go through an FFL in order to buy from them anyway. I just got tired of messing with the hassle of it given the few purchases that I made after my last renewal, so I decided it was easier for me to just let my C&R license lapse. There’s not much that I want that I don’t already have that is C&R eligible, and if I find something from a local individual, I don’t have to worry about any of it (currently) in a face to face transfer between TN residents.

  27. Me too Shaun, he’d be tickled I’m sure. Looking like mid to high 60’s for lows with scattered storms still in the forecast for the weekend. Could be a really good chance for movement before and after storms move through.

  31. What I see happening is a man making $15 a hour, going thru a divorce and his soon to be exwife wants to punish him so she throws the red flag. Where is he going to come up with the money to for a lawyer to fight?

  32. This. The FFL retains the form 4473with the buyers name and the gun serial number, but they don't give that info to anyone... unless they surrender their license (quit the business) and are require to give their records to the ATF. If a gun is used in a crime and the police are researching it, they contact the OEM who looks up which distributor got that one. Then they ask the distributor which retailer got it. Then they ask the retailer (FFL) who bought it. Then they contact you. If you no longer have it because you sold it to another person, you tell them that. If you don't have record of who you sold it to (an individual is not required to have any records) that's the end of the line. And carrying it on your person somewhere other than your property requires a handgun carry permit (HCP). There is no requirement to conceal it, but it's generally considered to be a good idea.

  33. No. There is no registration in Tennessee.

  34. Also, I don't believe ANY firearms (possibly machine guns....) are registered in TN.

  35. I'm far from an expert on this stuff, but I believe that TN doesn't issue a CC permit. It issues a 'carry' permit & that covers you for open & concealed, whichever you choose.
