  2. As far as a registry is "supposed to be" illegal for the gov to do...... Then why did I have to send all my completed 4473's to a Gov office in Texas back in 96 when I closed my Gun shop business. I would have destroyed them but that was illegal to do unless the transactions were something like 15 years old. If all cops were good cops (Constitution abiding), yeah, let them have what ever. Sadly that is not the case. In times of Marshal Law, we are to be ordered to do what the Gov deems appropriate regardless of our known rights. Then you have recourse in court of course latter on..... LOL! See how that worked out for Koresh & Weaver. My money tells me who to trust.......

  4. My bucks have been been constantly coming to 1 area. Last 4 days they seem to have disappeared or moving way before daylight. Tomorrow morning is the last day for my dad to get one before heading back to Michigan. Wish him luck!

  5. I had an FFL back in the less restrictive (Pre-Clinton era). When Clinton came into office I closed up my home "shop". and Yep, mailed my records to the ATF as was/is required. Now I'm certain they wouldn't put that info into a data base and retain it ... OK, they probably did... OK I'm certain they did...

  6. I'd prefer it if they did the tax free day for gun purchases that day, specially since it's close to Christmas. Didn't they do that once?

  7. Here’s a short video from last weekend. Me and a few guys went out to call for the morning. @Luke E. brought his camera and tripod. This coyote came out directly down wind of Luke and I. Luckily he had the decoy activated on the call and we acted quickly. I don’t believe that coyote would have stood there but a second or two more being downwind but we made it work. At the end of the video when he said “Hey” I thought he saw another one and I was getting ready to pop another one if it came out. Had no idea he was gonna pick on my visor

  8. Hi, My hubs and I are having a baby. He would like to do a Tannerite gender reveal. Do you all know of any place near knoxville that we could do that at? Ideally, we would like to have food and then shoot a bit of tannerite (nothing crazy) and powder to display the gender. Looking for something with a room/pavilion near by, hopefully inside. Its really to hot outside to eat right now. Any help is appreciated!

  9. Merely trying to understand the intended use. I tried to stop associating with people who think like that a long time ago.

  10. I just finished reading a book about church security. It was written in 2012 by Carl Chinn. The title is, “Evil Invades Sanctuary.” The sub title is, The Case for Security in Faith Based Organizations. I got my copy off Amazon, used, for 6 bucks. It is a good read for one who is serious about church security. Chinn was a participant at the hostage situation at the Focus on the Family building. A disgruntled, previously injured on the job, construction worker took several hostages which Chinn was one of them. He was part of the Focus on the Family security team. He describes his event along with another church shooting event he was involved with. This other event he was involved with was at the New Life Church shooting in Colorado in 2011. One line in the book that really stood out with me is, when he faced interaction with the shooter carrying an AR 15, he pulled out his handgun, a Kel Teck 32ACP mouse gun. He told of how he felt at that time with the shooter coming in his sight carrying a pistol and AR and just how small his pistol was. He said Jenne Asam appeared just in front of him, from a south hallway, with her 9 MM pistol drawn and issuing the shooter with a firm voice the opening fire with her pistol. Chinn was also involved with the Ted Haggard fiasco when he was outed for homosexual activity. Talked about the News Media show and all the ramifications going on with that situation. He talks extensively of the need for security at churches and I would recommend the read to anyone who is serious about self defense at church. His description of the aftermath of the Colorado shooting was very vivid and reveling. He has been involved with several churches and growing and developing church security teams throughout his carrier.

  12. Enjoying Daddy Daughter day today just out shopping, eating, and riding around enjoying the day together. Talked her into going in to Sportsman’s Warehouse with me after telling her I’d buy her a hoodie since I was gonna get one for myself. Unfortunately they didn’t have much of a selection of them to my surprise. I was wanting a couple. I know they have more on the website but that’ll be a big seller soon. Anyway, I talked with the Remington, Leupold, and Hornady guys while I was there and bounced around to see what all they had. A lot archery and hunting supplies, reloading supplies, hunting boots and a bunch of camping equipment, even generators. Pretty cool store and I’m excited to go back when I have more time to creep slowly to see what all I missed today. I didn’t make it to the gun counter as it was packed.

  13. It’s nice to be able to be prepared for anything; some departments can afford it; some can’t. I remember when some folks were up in arms about PD’s getting surplus armored vehicles from the Military. What in the world could a local PD need an armored vehicle for they asked. Well…. the people trapped in the bathrooms at Pulse Nightclub are alive because a Bearcat breeched the wall, allowed them to get out and Officers to get in and end the massacre. We live in a time of local cops needing armored vehicles, Explosives, and Barrett .50 Cal rifles.

  15. Of course if Corey Booker were to get elected all that would change; according to him. It’s a good thing he’s a clown and we don’t have to worry about him getting elected. Regardless of what you think will happen in Tennessee; please go vote. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/cory-booker-plans-national-gun-registry

  17. Finished spreading and leveling the new load of gravel on the driveway yesterday afternoon. All my projects are finished now. Looking forward to a full week of recovery rest before our fishing trip the following week. I am exhausted. My sweetie told me, last evening, that an old man should act his age. Said I was pushing myself too hard. I told her I had to do my part as the others were putting time in on my projects. Son in law came over last evening to pick up his tractor. I asked him what I owed his dad for the dirt, hauling it, the use of his Skid Steer loader and the gravel. He told me 299.00 for the cost of the 22 tons of gravel, and the rest was no charge. Of course we will buy him some gift certificates for his favorite restaurants. Will go to the bank, this morning, and get some cash. Son in law has 3 kids to raise, and I know he can use a little extra money. Can I say, "I Have Been Blessed." Now, rest, rest and more rest. Planning to be lazy this next week. Whata a week!

  18. For me the 509T was the first gun that I felt comfortable with shooting with an optic. I had a 320RX, a Q5 Match and a CZ SP-01 with red dots and never liked shooting them. The 509T was just different for me, I could pick the gun up, find the dot and boom hit the target. Not sure if it's the mounting system or what but it just works. The trigger isn't great but it isn't bad either. I usually replace or at least work on all my triggers but I've chose to leave the 509T alone. It's my "living room" gun and the trigger is fine for that use.

  19. Well, maybe a story is in order. One of the few times I open carried was back in about 83. I was on my way to the range to plink with a Ruger MKI and had it on my hip when I stopped at a convenience store to grab some refreshment. As I walked up to the counter to pay for it, the woman ahead of me saw the pistol and got visibly nervous and about ran out of the place with her young daughter by the hand. This was up State NY and the permits were issued with the idea of preferred concealed carry but not mandatory. As I walked out of the store, the woman was leaving the parking lot and I saw her New Jersey license plate. Well that figures. I'll never forget the fear that bubbled up in that woman as she saw that 22 pistol I had on that day. I'm not an advocate of open carry by any stretch of the imagination but it sure does send a message loud and clear to the grabbers that are in fact moving here. The impact of an occasional open carry dude here or there on random days is their business. There are subtle ways of sending a message to the grabbers other than a vote. I think this might be one weather you chose to participate in that or not, Libs are in fact moving here and you all better come to grips with that fact that theres not a dam thing you can do about it individually. A 2nd A Day on the books will in fact have an impact on those city migrants looking for cheaper living after they run from their own failed policies. 64 million folks...... yup and they want to move here and make it safe like Chicago. The grand dads of some of the natives here were bold in keeping an active role in who moved next door. That's a fact. Trump got in as a fluke. Down the road, the best we can do is stand on states rights against the Fed blanket restrictions. I hope my time here is finished before you all lose your gun rights as I did as an X up state new Yorker. Sad you don't see it coming for your kids/grandkids. It is what it is.

  21. I bought a Taurus G2C 9mm brand new for $185. I know people love to hate Taurus, but I had heard great things about it so I bought one. 1000 rounds later and no issues or failures of any kind. I did replace the polymer guide rod and spring and put in a ss, but that's it. Absolutely love the gun..

  22. If there was a “secret” registry somewhere wouldn’t that be a violation of both State and Federal law? And wouldn’t those responsible be subject to arrest and imprisonment on both State, and Federal charges?

  23. It's interesting how different tastes affect a person's impression of a handgun. I had a P10C and think the 509M and MRD are vastly more refined than my P10C was.

  26. I agree. My problem is that stuff usually is not “lost”; I have usually put it in a very special place where it will be “safe”. And then I can’t remember where that very special safe place is.
