  1. Politics has taken over everything.

  2. I also lost interest in the aftermath of Dale Sr.'s death. What they did to Bill Simpson was all I needed to know. Today's NASCAR has as much in common with racing as WWE has with wrestling.

  5. I thought I wanted a scoped revolver. But all of my centerfires are S&W pre-locks that I didn’t want to Drill &Tap. I was kicking around the idea of a new 686, they are drilled & tapped for a scope mount from the factory. But then I looked at my 617 and saw that it was factory drilled & tapped. So I guess I’ll try it on a rimfire first. Should get to try this out this weekend.

  6. “They” are not stupid contrary to some people’s beliefs. Frankly, I’m astounded that what OS referred to has not already happened.

  7. You never know who might be next. What if UPS and FedEx decided they wouldn't ship guns or ammo anymore? THAT would be a game changer for sure. Could enough popular and political pressure be exerted to make that happen the next time the Dems get the triumvirate? There's already a taste of that, in that neither will knowingly ship firearms between non-licensed folks. Indeed, for some time now, there is actually no legal way to ship a handgun between unlicensed individual people period, even though doing such intrastate is legal federally. - OS

  9. I know several people who are into sporting clays, hunting, etc that have this exact mentality. "I don't own an AR or AK so it won't effect me" thinking that if they sacrifice what other's like they would never come after their shotguns and bolt action guns. No one eats an elephant in one bite....

  10. If true, the operational leadership of the NRA is part of the problem. Misuse of dues and donations alienate current and future members. Perhaps change some of the fear based confiscation messaging with highlights from educational events and interview the young people who participate. Kids sell stuff, if you could get a dog or two in the video...

  11. Years ago, back around '86 or so, I had a Dan Wesson 44 mag with a 8" heavy vent rib BBL. Got a mount for it from B Square in Ft. Worth. Clamped on, worked fine. Good luck with your venture, I'm sure you'll get it worked out. Killed a few deer with it, BTW.

  12. NASCAR died with Dale Earhart sr. They have been going down hill since he died and have been changing to all these crazy points races games. I quit watching them the year after Kyle Busch won the points chanpionship after coming back from that bad wreck in Daytona in the opening race and missing the first 7-8 races. NASCAR threw him a bone and said he could still run for the Championship and he did and won and that was my last year watching them.

  13. I’ve said it, and I know others have said it. If you want to get to the bottom of the reason for the change, look around at all the other sponsors. I would venture to guess that the vast majority of them don’t want their logos featured next to those of manufacturers of “assault weapons” or other scary guns. I’d bet serious cash that folks like Coca-Cola, FedEx, or the big banks said “put our logo next to something like that and you’ll never see another dollar from us.”

  14. Yes get the Palmetto State Armory(PSA) version...I have the 1st GEN KS47 and it runs flawlessly with a T2 Heavy Buffer using the 8.5" barrel and pistol stock. The KS47's HUGE advantage over an AR in 7.62x39 is that it runs on AK mags while still using the DI system of the AR so it actually shoots way softer than an AK47. I love mine and out to 200yds its steel plate accurate with a red dot. They actually have a GEN2 or 3 out now which is supposed to be quite improved over my GEN 1.

  15. A couple years ago I had the retired "wild Hair" itch for the ride into the sunset years. After a lot of thought & research, I chose the Gen 2 Lincoln Mark VIII. Only about 30,000 Gen 2's made. Its a car that will need some amateur tinkering for sure but well worth it. 300hp under the hood is very easy to bump up from its 280 base model / 290 LSC model. I'v put 7k miles on my 97 base so far and love the car. I have the only one around! Factory 8 JBL surround sound speakers with factory 120 Watt amp is first rate with a aftermarket dbl din head unit. 3.02 gearing = 93mph @ 2500 revs and 23 mpg high way to boot! On this link, the top ten "How Too" entries are mine under MARK VIII. Next move is a true 2.5" SS dual exhaust install this winter. https://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/ams/ Obviously its nothing like the rag top Beetle, but Iv found everything I want in a personal car with the Mark. For what its worth, Iv owned a 2000 VW Golf, 2001 Jetta, 2003 Beetle, 2005 Passat. All of them Diesels. Take away, Real diesels have timing chains. I wouldn't own another VW these days. Good Luck finding one that satisfies that new car itch!

  19. Ha, ha..... decades ago I saw this coming. You would have states that respect the 2nd A far more that others that legislated it in to a shadow of its original meaning. The hinge pin to the future is the rush to red flag laws. They have found this to be acceptable but in fact its the platform for the physiological wing of the medical industry (CDC included) to analyze and catalog a new term for those citizens who find it enjoyable to simply target shoot and have any desire to own a firearm. They have found their golden goose in the "shooters"......period. It will become a medical condition that carries a subliminal destructive psychosis tied to a gene that must be treated and in the end purged from the human gene bank. Clearly, little boys that love their squirt guns are afflicted with this obsolete gene. This is the new "civilized" society being created before your eyes. You cant stop them legislatively..... they have been and will be bought. In time, even the courts will be called on to "save" us all from the violent ones. Just as the mandates on vaccinations are saving us ....... they will now do far more with their finger on the electronic thought waves of humanity. Enter Revelation 9:18.

  20. The paint was fading and the body prep work was less than desirable, so I left it there. It is a shame, as everything was there and in good working condition. No rust. Didn’t appear to have been wrecked. Thanks for all the advice and information!

  24. Also let me add that there's a difference between target ammo and SD ammo. When I'm filling a box and it's target ammo I'm loading, I'm most interested in dependability and functionality. With the SD ammo I'm loading I tweak the load to my carry weapon for dependability , functionality and accuracy.

  25. I really can't disagree with any of the above. I understand the frustration, I can relate to it, and I get why it was said. It's a worthy gut-check. I think it could have been worded a little differently so as not to completely have turned the audience against you, @asu174. TGO in general has always been supportive of our local law enforcement because the local cops have proven to be pretty responsible folks. But I really don't believe there's a whole lot of "Tread harder, Daddy!" going on here even though you do see that happening pretty rampantly on social media these days. You made an excellent point about the clown in Ohio basically being a poster child for the crackdown on open carry in Wal-Mart stores. We've had our own local 2A-sshole [link] pull those stunts in the past to the detriment of the 2A community, and TGO didn't cut him any slack and certainly didn't criticize the police for their responses to his antics then.

  30. Just because they are in current production, doesn't necessarily make them a better option. There are lots of older firearms that are just as good and certainly cheaper on the budget. Ruger has to be the most puzzling firearms company going, though. Seems like they make a semi Auto for five or so years and then drop it from production, regardless of the success (the LCP seemingly being the lone exception). The model mentioned above is a good case in point. The LC9s is another great example. And why do they continue to sale pistols with only one mag? That drives me crazy!

  31. The S&W Model 1905 stopped being made in 1942 and I am still buying them. The SR9c is out there reasonable on the used market. In lots of cases slightly cheaper than the other ones mentioned. Gotta have options.

Now every time the date equals Pi x (the previous days stock market gains) divided by @TGO David's post count, someone comes and resurrects this thread. If it were possible I would mark it on my calendar, but it is an unexpected event:) I hope it never gets locked. I hope it lasts forever.
