  1. While on my crane hunt in Texas I took some time to check out Palo Duro Canyon. It is the 2nd largest canyon in the country. If you like western topography I would highly recommend checking it out. It is a pretty cool place. You are allowed to camp there and it is a great place to hike or just sight see.

  3. I got the chance to go deer hunting last evening. I went with my grandson, that was burned in the bon-fire accident. He is doing better and has improved considerably. He still has a few spots, of infection, that has not totally cleared up but His Dr said, "If he kept on improving he would be able to go back to school after the new year break is over." He still has some bad arms but will possibly take a the next year totally heal. He had 3rd degree burns on both arms and hands. His face is healed almost completely except for some pinkish skin which the Dr said should dissipate over time. We sit in a ground blind and finally just right at the end of shooting light had gone, two does walked in and a buck came into the food plot, a short time later, to feed. He asked if I though he should try for the buck, I told him it was too dark so he let him walk. I didn't want to tell him but my old eyes could hardly see the buck's antlers. Oh FOR YOUNG EYES! Any ways it was great fun. I don't have a deer tag and he has filled both his doe tags, but has 2 buck tags remaining. It was great to spend 3 hours with my 15 year old grandson hunting. It was nice, and peaceful to watch nature go to sleep. I may go with him again to another farm of a friends , if the opportunity presents itself. All the years my father and I hunted, we never saw not one deer that was within our kill zones in Eastern KY.. Deer are plentiful, now, in this area of Middle TN. Great, great times.

  4. I have a problem. I love going to auctions. I will bid on anything if it is going really cheap. Because of that I end up with some stuff I have no business buying. The following is an example. I have two lots of Nascar collectibles. They are not really old stuff so I do not think there is much value yet. What I would like to do is find somebody that has kids or grandkids that would actually play with cars. So if you have kids or grandkids that will play with these cars then you can have one of the two lots for free. These would make for some nice Christmas presents. The first person to respond can have their choice of the two lots and the second can have what's left. You will need to pick these up in Brentwood or Bellevue.

  7. The PPK/s 22’s are made in Germany by Umarex (as has already been mentioned). Walther Arms (US) is based in Fort Smith, AR. They import the pistols. Guns do not get imported without a US name on them. The right side is stamped: Walther Arms Fort Smith, AR

  8. I'm just not having problems selling guns on TGO but I am also pricing in line with what the current market will sustain and not selling anything that would only appeal to a very specific niche buyer. From what I've heard from friends in other states, this is the same where they are also. Used isn't selling quickly unless you've got a compelling item or price.

  9. We and out traveling companion visited there 2 years ago. Beautiful place and we even have some of the banana colored rocks that come from the bottom of the canyon. I was surprised how fast the water level rose to flood stage and all the signage warning campers and drivers. We spent 2 days there camping in RVs. We had traveled to Ardmore/Gene Autry, Oklahoma to take in the Cowboy Way Festival. We even got to see James Druary, known as the Virginian, Gary Ckark (known as Steve) and Roberta Shore( known as Betsy) from the series on TV years ago(70's). He was the only TV star that never had a name on screen. Simply known as the Virginian. Also seen and talked with the guy that was James Arness/Mat Dillon (Gunsmoke) stunt double. It was a hoot! My grandson has Downs Syndrome and James Druary invited/allowed Cody to sit at his table during the final evening of the festival dinner. Cody is quick to say, "James Durary is my friend." Cody is our traveling companion. He is 27 and has been in all the lower 48 states except California, Oregon, and Nevada. Making plans to take that trip this summer, if possible. May even hit the Cowboy Way Festival which is being held in San Angelo, Texas, this coming May. That would be a great trip in May and June. From Ardmore, we made a swing through Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, Abilene, Fredericksburg, San Antonio, Austin, and Waco Texas. Visited the "Home and Garden Stars" remodeling stars, Chip and Johana Gains' Magnolia Silos, while in Waco. Her bakery had some of the best cup cakes I have ever eaten. We had a blast on that trip. KahrMan, I know you had great fun. Palo Doro Canyon is great.

  10. Man that brings back some memories. My dad and I were huge Nascar Die Cast collectors. I still have everything new in packages in my attic. Davey Allison was my favorite driver so its always cool to see Davey stuff.

  12. I've run them for a while and had mixed results. Definitely seems to help but like you noted it does make a little noise. As long as there's a little wind it's no big deal but on still days it's noticeable. I've seen young deer 10 ft directly downwind of me who seemed to have no clue I was there. However, as the years have passed, I feel like the older deer are starting to catch on and are getting warier of the ozone smell. Overall, a useful tool, but it's not magic by any means.

  13. Probably had it hosted on Hillary's server. I don't think she's using it anymore.

  14. Or Berkeley liberals? Regardless, I am sick and damn tired of CC security breaches. “Checking your statements and credit report” is poor recompense for having to deal with such a violation of one’s business.

  16. When I was on the road with Tammy Wynette, we were working at Radio City Music Hall in NY in the 80's. There was a lighting cue in a theater like that where she finished one song, took a bow, the house go completely dark, she sat on a stool, got handed a guitar, and the spotlight was to open on her. Now, she was in a completely different position than she was in when the place went black. So, our light guy is asking who has the most experience. One of the guys in his gruff NY accent says, "I been runnin' this spot for 45 years." Moose tells him he's got the cue. He explains to him what it is, he says, "Yeah, yeah I got it." So... Stand... bow... room goes black... handed guitar... stool... sit... and the spot opens "POOF," right dead on the center of her face. Perfect. It's quiet in Radio City Music Hall, and everyone hears this quiet scream from up in the lighting rafters... "FU**ING A!!!!" Priceless.
