There's some validity to using metals as a hedge against inflation, but speculating in metals as a source of investment returns is suspect at best. The metals markets tend to be highly volatile, and often act irrationally. Historically, investing in metals long term has been a disaster, at least in comparison to things like stocks and bonds. Sure, there have been some short-term periods in which fortunes have been made in metals speculation, there have been many more in which fortunes have been lost. Coin collecting is an entirely different subject, where intrinsic value often has little to do with market pricing. However, in the last few decades, collectible coins have also been victims of "irrational exuberance", to use Alan Greenspan's famous term, for an example see the insane run-up (and subsequent crash) of Morgan dollars in the 80's ...

Major major major scare in June. Cardiologist told me point blank get the weight off and to get off insulin or I wouldn't be around in 3 to 5 years. Being a diabetic I had tried several diets etc over the years. A friend recommended Profile by Sanders. I had never heard of them. It clicked with me. I'm down 60 pounds since July 2nd. Dropping 2 1/2 pounds a week like clockwork. Basically teach you how to mix food combinations properly. I can honestly say I have not been hungry and am now starting to feel fantastic. I'm off insulin and reduced all my other meds. My goal is another 40 pounds and be off all meds. Finding the program that works for you is key. Diet isn't the right word, it is truly a life change.

You're correct, like my description about the quarter & gas, an ounce of gold could buy that suit or a milk cow many years ago. Two years ago I traded my friend we get our beef from a one ounce Austrian Philharmonic for a 1150# steer, still holds true. Just think, in 1932 a "dollar" was worth 1/20th of an ounce of gold, today an "FRN" is worth 1/1550th of an ounce of gold @ todays spot.

Hi all, I found another use for mine. I have an older round tray Lee Priming tool that the tray lid broke, so I printed a replacement. I've tried ordering / buying one, but Lee no longer manufactures them, and I couldn't find a Lee dealer that still had any old ones in stock. When I first got the printer, I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, now, I'm finding all sorts of things. Ed

I'm sure a lot of folks will try to talk you up to a better sight and, at some point, you'll probably want to upgrade. However.... I have that little Fieldsport red dot on my dedicated hog/HD shotgun. It's never had anything but slugs & heavy buckshot loads through it & I must say, the sight has held up FAR beyond my expectations! It's still functionally perfect after several hundred, HARD recoiling rounds. The dot isn't perfectly crisp & it's far too large for any sort of precision (4 or 6 moa, I believe) but inside of 100yds, or for CQB plate smacking, it's great!

Most places ship free if you buy 1000 round bulks packs or spend over a certain amount.

This will be coming to Nashville, and other big cities in TN, the way our leaders(I use leaders very loosely) are going. Thankful they got rid of Briley in the "Vill". Who knows, as bad as the prison system is in private hands, in TN, they will probably outsources the Police next. Atlanta just enacted a no chase policy, for fleeing criminals, in that city. I know that city will be a lot safer now, and you right, the reported crime will decrease for sure. Bill O riley once said, " A white male puts his future in jeopardy, when going to Atlanta, because there is no justice for white males in Atlanta any longer." I make it a point to not hang out there.

California has the greatest out of state migrants (citizens leaving the state) in the US. This is some of the reasons why. What they have done is allowed street vagrants(homeless people) and others(mentally ill), to which the big cities are full of, to steal without fear of consequences . NYC is in the process of doing this also. Mayor Deblageio was on TV, the other day, and said they were decimalizing several crimes in NY City. I seen this in Wash D C one morning. A heugh guy (mental problems) came in a store, got a large cup of coffee, and simply walked out the door. I ask the clerk didn't yo see that guy steal that coffee, why didn't the do something? He said don't want to get hit in the mouth. Said the guy does this 2 to 3 times a day and sometimes gets him something to eat. Said the owner considers it a cost of doing business in that area of D C. I paid for my cup of coffee and left in total amazement. Really sad world we are living in today.

This is my concern as well...liquidity. I bought gold eagles and silver eagles a few years ago just to get into the precious metals game and to have an investment to hold in my hand. I bought them through Apmex.com and they ship them directly to your house. They will repurchase them at any time at a slight discount from the spot price that changes daily, and people buy/sell them on eBay as well, but in both of those cases you have to put the coins in the mail and arrange for payment. Local “gold buyer” shops will also buy them but, like you said, that would be a negotiation and I expect it would be about like selling something to a pawn shop...not a good price for the seller. In a SHTF situation I think the smaller weight coins or bars like 1/10 oz and 1/4 oz would be more practical than the 1 oz or larger sizes.

Hi Leroy, I can't tell you about a Glock, but I've got the Vortex Venom 3MOA installed on my M1 Garand. The Viper is a little less expensive, but I like the fact you can change the battery of the Venom without removing the sight. As for performance, I love it. Ed

I just looked up Morgan dollars and they only have a melt value now of $14.08. I thought it would be more.

Nose to charging handle when you use the iron sights. I sight in for a 6 o’clock hold at 100 yds where point of impact is centered on the bullseye. That’s using the small aperture. Red dots are great but you see a starburst if you have astigmatism.

I have a .223/5.56 rifle and one that shoots 7.62x39. The cost of the 7.62 for 1k rounds was cheaper than 1k rounds of .223. Maybe it's because the ammo comes from Russia (TulAmmo)?

This. People "go on a diet" when what they need is to change their diet (at a minimum, adding some other lifestyle changes is generally a good idea, too).

Just a tip for anyone intending to attend Tulsa or Louisville Shows. They usually have an early pass to get in on the setup days, Tulsa called them Phantom Tables, don't recall what LV called theirs. Well worth the extra $$. Also consider staying for all the days of the show as 1 day simply isn't enough. There was a person who calculated that if one walked the entire Tulsa show they would have about 15 seconds to view every table. BTW: The Tulsa Drillers Expo is about 12 Acres under one roof. Like I said, just a few tips from one who's spent a lot of time at both shows. Wear Comfortable Shoes!! Tulsa Expo has the hardest concrete in the world.

Anywhere metal rubs on metal, especially inside and outside the bolt and bolt carrier. Just not too much or it might spit back at you and it'll be pungent as it burns in excess. There are probably enough sources online with pictures to get you through. That's fine, but I'm not going to bother to look if I have to get a new webpage opened for any pics you're posting.

Yeah I agree nothing is 100% reliable but, gold and silver usually hold up good. As far as people losing their _ _ _ , remember the Hunt brothers?

I am so glad that I'm no longer a police officer. Risking your life for others is one thing; throwing your life away because of indecision caused by societal pressure is quite another.

I can answer the last question. It is illegal to hunt with thermals or ir in TN. You'll need to head down to Texas for that. Actual scopes for rifles are super expensive but there are several handheld units out there that are a little more reasonable. I've got a little handheld FLIR that I enjoy playing with. It makes going for walks after dark a lot of fun. Is it worth the money? Your call, but the prices have come down quite a bit recently. The FLIR Scout TK is going for around $600. Handheld unit with only a 100 yard range but if you've got the coin to spare....

I'm going with a long bayonet with sheath. By looking at the other rifles in the pic they all have them and I'm certain he wouldn't want to feel left out. By looking at how they attach to the rifle the curvature would be facing the photographer which is why we cant see it.

I wanted a QD rail that could take a pounding with heavy optic if need be so I built this to my own spec. This is on a early CIA thumb hole Imbel that I picked up off GB. Now, its reconfigured the way I want it! The blank and the starter..... zero tolerance recoil plate a cap to be welded over the stud extension yet. All friction fit The rear sight peep slide will be mod-ed into rear lock down latch over the 2 extensions. Good thing the bolt cover top radius is exactly a 1/2" ball nose cut under the base. I guess this is one of those challenges that I had to sink my imagination into. That's the rear base in the raw. now the front hand guard is Israeli Light Rifle with a custom fabed accessory rail I cobbed out of a cheap China AR handguard. The gas tube rings are made from aluminum bar stock & milled to fit the hollow channel under the rail. Also, I fit a steel front end to recoil up against the steel vented hand guard. Now for the finished unit with a fabed up L1A1 flip up peep made to fit the rail that is windage adjustable. Rear base lock in open position. Locked up rock solid... I wanted a flip out handle that could be popped out with the flick of a finger or edge of the hand so I welded the handle locking edge out quite a bit more so it sticks out just enough to get at easy but still lives nicely in an over stuffed safe. The scope base/cover slides off & on the receiver to perfect zero no matter what. The Century Imbel Franken is exactly what I want built over a first gen DSA Alloy lower. Now it can keep my SAR48 company!
