  1. Well except for that whole rape thing a few years ago that he paid to make go away.

  2. I have bought and sold a few guns on that site. I have never had a problem but I am always extra careful when dealing with complete strangers. Unlike TGO you have no idea who your are dealing with.

  5. I like that setup @BCR#1! I have my 550 set up for 9mm as that's what I have historically shoot the most of. But I've loaded quite a bit of .38 and .380 on my old single stage Lee press this year. I need to look into a 550B for .38! Back when I used to shoot 45 acp a bunch I had a separate tool head and powder for my 550. That made life simpler at the time. These days, like @leroy, I claim curmudgeon status.

  6. You misunderstood what he meant by "another player." Kobe was taking his 13 year old daughter to one of her games. So another player in this case is another 13 year old girl. Not a celebrity. Not someone rich and famous. Just a girl who wanted to play ball and got in the wrong vehicle. That's sad.

  7. It is. The camera used to take that picture was a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. (Released 2008) It also looks like cell towers behind her. The gun doesn’t have a mark on it. Her, and her uniform are too clean. http://olegvolk.net/gallery/technology/arms/hitlerjugend_2156.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1&&g2_fromNavId=xa742eac6&g2_GALLERYSID=dffe62ec1522e2eb53c7f789e56effd4

  8. If you're worried about bears, then get bear spray. Far more effective than a handgun and the odds of survival are way better for both you an the bear.

  10. I hear ya on wanting to see in the case. I just trust the powder measure though (at least a Dillon) and have never had issues. Uniquetek and Inline Fabrication make some neat aftermarket gadgets for Dillons. I think one of them makes a mirror that mounts to the press and lets you see right into the case. A friend bought a small mirror at Harbor Freight and made a similar setup. Also, Double Alpha makes a new $20ish click adjustment dial for the powder measure that is super simple and works like a champ. Having a separate powder measure/toolhead for each caliber is definitely more convenient.

  14. I'd go with PSA if the difference in price is minor...they have a good return policy/"Lifetime Warranty" and they are known quantity you can sell if you ever change your mind about it later.

  15. One of the challenges for pilots learning IFR (instrument- rather than vision-based flying) is actually learning to believe what the instruments, like an artificial horizon or altimeter, are telling you rather than what your body and intuition are telling you.

  16. In the case of the coyote killed by bare hands, they potentially could have tested it and waited for the results before starting treatment. Rabies takes weeks to months before you become clinical, and the testing usually takes less than a week. If the dead coyote's body got dragged off or the brain decayed, they would not be able to test for rabies, and the victims would need full post-exposure treatment.

  17. Those guns are beautiful @LINKS2K! And definitely congratulations on the retirement! I am envious and hope to actually do the same ...one of these days...

  18. The problem is that by the time they figured out if the coyote had rabies and you had not been treated it might be too late.

  19. How? It's terrible when there is loss of life, no matter who it is. Nothing against you personally, many people are the same way, but I get tired of holding celebrities higher than regular people when they die. I'm not a Bball fan, but at least this wasn't one of those trouble making individuals we hear about in the news, and I'm sure we will be hearing about this the whole week if not longer. I sure hate to hear his daughter was with him, it is sure to be heartbreaking for the mother..

  20. My 650 setup is like yours deer... Separate toolbars for each caliber (... all mine are pistol..)... My problem wuz always twofold; the first wuz the powder measure setup; and the second, my compulsive need to look at every powder charge inside the case... There are gizmos n techniques to measure powder level (... Powder Cop depth gage...), but I simply can't shake the need ta look into the cases... That cuts the production time in half, for me, at least... I think lotsa times, I just too lazy to change the toolbars, verify the powder measure, and start reloading... I think the " real way " is to have a separate measure for each head, and to leave the adjustments alone... That's why I tend to just use the single stage and load a 100 rounds or so at a time... It's part of the " old n lazy " thing that comes to us old curmudgeons... leroy...

  28. I found it for sale down in Florida under a tree - my dad loaned me the $1500 I needed to buy it, and I worked all summer long to pay him off and get that thing back in good running order. I still miss that truck. Things I don't miss - having to yell at your date to have a conversation and continually smelling like exhaust. I'd straight out buy another truck with kick vents though.

  29. Let's allow natural traffic to keep it toward the top of the new threads list for the folks who are interested. I appreciate the sentiment but I also have to be careful and weigh the consequences of how others may feel if we don't do the same for them in the future or haven't done the same for them in the past.

  30. ^^^ What he said. ^^^ https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-classic-freedom-m4-upper-with-bcg-and-ch.html For $20 of difference, you can have a nitrate barrel vs. a phosphate one. That alone is worth the cost difference. I don't see anything in AR Stoner worth the money when just a smidge more money gets you a better setup.

  31. Never had one, but wouldn't expect midway to be selling junk. You might look at Palmetto State Armory as well. They have some pretty good deals at this time.

  32. Of what you currently own? Id carry the .45 with a hard cast round as was mentioned before. New gun Auto? 10mm. New gun revolver? .357 or .44 mag. Im a big fan of .44 and even the larger stuff like .454, .460 and .500 S&W. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  33. If you are worried about bears, load up with hard cast bullets, no hollow points. Penetration is important. I carry a .44 mag when I'm hiking is east Tennessee. I've seen plenty of bears and never had any problems with them but it only takes once. Of your choices I'd go with .45+p with a hard cast round like maybe Buffalo Bore. They claim they can penetrate a bears skull.

  34. Autos and animals.... I have to say consider a revolver if you have one.  Some animals will surprise you and be too close for an auto to function more than one shot.   Unlikely enough but the occasional cat will jump on a person, for example, and some of the others can charge at you extremely fast (angry hog!)   10mm is plenty for anything short of a large bear.    I spent a LOT of time in the woods when I was young, and have never been attacked by an animal excluding insects.   Most of them fear, or at least respect,  humans.

  35. I have been geocaching for over 8 years and traditionally carry a 9mm, started out with a Kel-Tec, but now a Glock 17.  My game takes me to all kinds of locations and have hiked several trails and bushwacked where there were no trails.  As for potentionally aggressive animals, I have never had to draw and fire.  I keep my eye out and avoid the situation when it arises.  I have had an number of deer snort at me and have had a face to face encounter with a rattlesnake near Energy Lake of the LBL.    The reason I do carry when geocaching is not for the 4-legged or slithering type of varmits, but the potential of a run in with a 2-legged type.  Geocaching on the Clark River in Murray, KY and a trail along the Stones River, I have run across a homeless shelter site.

  36. Put it on the curb with a for sale $25 on it and somebody will steal it. If that doesn't work find a neighbor that has a pickup and gift him with it around midnight. You could raffle it off, just don't give all the details of the set. Like 25" T.V. Raffle $1 each, drawing on Saturday, winner MUST pickup by Saturday 6pm. LOL!!!
