I like to say, as the size of the crowd increases, the IQ decreases. Even smart individuals can get caught up in the herd.2 points

When the wheelbase of the tow vehicle is the same or longer than the distance from the rear axle to the trailer axle (essentially the trailer wheelbase), it can be very hard to back up. Short tow vehicle + long trailer = easy. Long tow vehicle + short trailer = hard. Could also be that the hitch on the Tundra is off center, but I wouldn't expect that. Distance from the rear axle to the hitch ball also affects the trailer. A long rear overhang makes backup more difficult.2 points

bud...the wife and I were both sick back in Dec. Felt crappy for about a week for her and maybe 10 days for me. Then over and done. Like you, I strongly suspect and suggest, that this virus has been around far longer than our "official sources" would have us believe. I don't doubt that there is a Corona Virus, nor that it can be fatal. What I do question is the tales of where and when this came from. I am very certain that politicians have made off with this to their own advantages...on both side of the proverbial aisle we hear so much about.2 points

I pull a large box trailer occasionally and my wife usually rides with me. She will spot if I have to back it into a tight space. My two best tips on communicating between the spotter and driver. First, have the trailer spotter use their phone and call the driver. The driver answers using hands free. You both can talk normally and hear every word. Great two way communication. Second, if the spotter sees something going wrong, they say STOP and the driver stops immediately. Work out whatever needs to happen next while no vehicles are moving2 points

Tom, I did finally report it after info go to me about his beating a week afterwards. Like I posted this was some time ago and the Sheriff office did not consider this a murder because he lived 4 weeks afterwards, and a week after the hospital stay. His son told me HE thought his death was brought on by the beating he took. He was 83 years old at the time. He passed at home so the corner ruled his death health related. I think he had diabetes plus other health related issues. There was no tag on the old truck but I did give the description of the 2 close perps and the one leaving the truck I did not get a god look at. Like I said they have never found them. Edited to add. I should have made it clear I did not report my incident "the day it happened." Had I done that, just maybe he would not have had to undergo his situation.1 point

Alright giving you all the update you deserve: -It was probably about a centimeter too far. -The actual buffer was being stopped by the pin but the tube was what caught, again just barely off -I don't normally clean buffer tube but after every 2000 rounds I do a deep clean meaning replacing all little springs and just essentially completely take apart visually inspect all pieces and rebuild. This may be over the top but I would rather this every once and a while then have fails with no idea what happened.1 point

Used Royal Range. Their FFL is posted on the site. You just provide them the guy’s name that’s selling it to you and he sends a DL copy. Super easy. Thanks for the help. Benelli M1 Super 90 on the way.1 point

A friend has 3 boys and we have 2, all similar ages. His wife says when boys get together, the collective IQ doesn't multiply, it divides. That's funny but also not entirely untrue.1 point

I have the same issue. When I put it behind my flatbed I can't even see it. On a serious note, I've done a lot of towing over the years with loads of all different sizes. Learning to back using my mirrors was the single best thing that I ever learned to do to help backing a trailer easier.1 point

I might disagree with you on the stupidity of the American populace. Some individuals are intelligent and discerning, a mass of people seem to lose all thinking ability and fall to the level of the least among them.1 point

I live in a pretty decent neighborhood, but its on a main drag. I saw a story about an old guy talking his trash to the curb that was attacked and killed. It may be the same story you are talking about. It’s 100 yards from the street to my house, and I’m old, so getting there quickly is not an option if something goes wrong. I now carry a gun when taking the trash out….sad.1 point

I’m not arguing one way or the other. I’m just pointing out that the BATF does not have the final say, and they tell you that on their web site. It’s kind of like an Attorney General Opinion. Will an AG opinion keep you from being charged by a DA? Probably. Is the DA or the Courts bound by it? No. When people ask these questions, they need all the information; then they need to do their research. Court is a very expensive situation, even if you win.1 point

I was threatened by 3 druggies, while going to my mail box, a few years ago. They never said a word, but telegraphed their intent by actions. I had to put my hand in my pocket, grasp the grip of my gun then put my hand up and tell them to stop, and get back in their car, and leave. One guy kept coming until another bailed and told him, "Come-on _____, it ain't worth getting shot over." I never really pulled my revolver, but the leader finally stopped and cussed me, then turned and got in the ratty old Datsun truck and left. They drove on and found another victim. My mistake is I should have called the Sherriff and reported this. The three, I am sure it was the same guys, beat a nearby neighbor, who was 83 and legally blind, viciously. He was going to his mailbox also. He passed 4 weeks later. If I had made a report, maybe, this would never have happened to him. BIG MISTAKE, ON MY PART guys. If you see anything out of the ordinary, report it. You may save someone else misery. I have lived her 34 years and never had one incident happen to me. My only saving grace was I was armed and ready. It was so obvious what was going to happen to me, a car (a neighbor) driving down the small country road stopped and watched. My mailbox is 300 feet from the front of my house. I drive to my box now. One never knows when evil comes knocking on your own door. I carry when I am awake.1 point

I think that once we have better data they will find the death rate is a lot lower than they initially thought. It's starting to look like more and more people had the virus, without symptoms. That's going to automatically bring down the death rate but we may never know the real number. That being said, 67,000 Americans have died in the last 6 weeks alone. That's not like the "flu" that so many people kept comparing it to. I don't think there is some great conspiracy here but I do think the initial models and data we had were likely flawed. I think most people believe that number would have been far worse without distancing. Did it warrant a total shutdown? I have no idea. I think most people had the right intentions. Whether they admit to the flaws remains to be seen. I don't envy people like Bill Lee. When you have every medical expert in your state warning what could happen, you're not left with many good options.1 point

You have to read the law and decide if you are violating it. If you think the law says using a brace as a stock is okay; you are okay. If you think because manufacturers make them, or because the BATF has issued a letter, the courts aren’t bound by that. Here is what the ATF says about that… They have issued letters saying braces are okay, then said if you use them as a stock it’s a crime, then changed that and said its not a crime. These guys are clowns. Most of you would never rely on something the BATF said. That is, until they say something you want to hear.1 point

I see the 2nd amendment will not infringe part of the arguement but honestly I think this isn’t the best idea our state has ever had...of course me already having a lifetime permit might be a bit biased that other people don’t even have to pass a dumbass exam or shoot a blimp at 7 meters like I did.1 point

Best advice I ever got was to put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel so that the trailer turning will match up with the direction the wheel is turning like you’d expect when backing a car. Small inputs on the wheel with short trailers. Maybe find a good double width ramp and practice during the week.1 point

I figured it out. I had tightened the buffer tube too far and it was rubbing the upper. I loosened a rotation cranked down the castle nut (of course lost a spring in the process of releasing the face plate back) and they fit like a glove. I still swear I had it that many rotations before I had cleaned but oh well.1 point

Fwiw, I had a couple. Liked the gun but I'm too blind to like the sights. I did keep my compact, but swapped the sights on it for something more traditional.1 point

Thanks for the review TripleGGG. As an instructor we of course want to see the improvements in the student’s shooting skills. But as anyone who trains with me knows, skill without mindset and skill without the ability to read the signs of impending criminal assault and skill without the education to make faster decisions does little to help you. The best shooter in the world will lose every time if the fight starts before he realizes a fight is about to happen. And all the shooting skill in the world is useless if you don’t actually carry your gun with you. So when students tell me the class improved their confidence and their shooting, changed their mindset, made them more aware of their surroundings, and has them carrying more often it puts a huge smile on my face. Hope to see you guys again in class !1 point

Teach her to use the mirrors, not look over her shoulder. Best place is in a big parking lot, try to keep it between the lines. Last but not least, get some one else to teach her, yall might not talk for a few days.1 point

Honestly, I'm happy to let folks who want to hide at home do just that. If they want to sit on the couch and fret their life away, have at it. I'm not going to take unnecessary risks, but I also know how useful worrying is. Life in 21st century America has too much stress already.1 point
