  2. 52, shoot I can barely remember 52, but it was better than almost 68. I am still trying to figure out how my daughter got to be 49 this February. Forrest Gump had it right, life is like a box of chocolates that somebody has already eaten the good ones!!

  3. As others have said..."It really depends". It depends on how much you want to spend. Are you looking to spend $1250? $750 ? $450 ? $350 ? A decent to good to excellent quality 9mm can be had depending on what you are willing to spend. It depends on how big a gun you are looking to carry. There is a big difference between a Kahr CM9 and a Beretta 92 or a Glock 34. Some of us actually carry full sized guns like Glock 17s and 34s on a daily basis but those of us that do that are far from the typical gun carrier. Most people are interested in carrying a gun that is "easy to carry". I'm interested in carrying a gun that is easy to fight with. A fire extinguisher that only puts out tiny camp fires is a not the best thing to have when the house is burning down..... It also depends on what type of action you prefer. Striker fired with polymer frame? That's going to get you in the game at a lower price. A 1911 that has been "tricked out" ? A LOT more expensive. Traditional DA/SA? More expensive than the Striker fired gun but less than the 1911. It also to some degree depends on your skill level. If you are a new shooter you might not be capable of doing your best work with a tiny gun. For that matter most seasoned shooters are going to shoot a mid sized or compact pistol much better than a subcompact. A new shooter and a Beretta Nano was a recipe for frustration in a class I taught several years ago. Tiny guns are easier to carry but much harder to shoot well especially at speed under stress. On the other hand if you have won the Back Up Gun division at a regional IDPA match then you probably aren't going to lose a fight because you can't shoot your Glock 43 well enough.... but again those guys are not the typical gun carrier either. Again, it all depends.

  6. Googled it up, yes the American Pokeweed does grow there. Most of the U.S. has it.

  8. Its honestly a good scope for the money, it's as clear as the Vortex Copperhead that I swapped over to another gun. Got tool-less turrets that are spot on, and the eye relief is great. Also came with flip up scope caps that ain't bad. So far the gun shoots as good as it did with the Vortex. I'm pleased with it especially for $45, wish he had another because I'd bought it also. You can get them on Amazon for $65, I'll probably pick another up if I can get this Remington 597HB off a buddy.

  10. This is a new place for me to have feeders up and my daughter told me that she as lived here 18 years and not seen any but I think if you hang feeders they will come eventually and the other day I had one small male show up and he has decided to hang around and has been on the feeder everyday since the first test of the nectar. I figure where there is one there is more so I will start watching the feeders more to see if I get more.

  12. On any given day I will have between 1 and 5 working on my feeders. Last year I consistently had 4-10. Hoping to see more activity as last year when they really started good in mid June.

  16. It might be ok on a .22, I've never had great luck with Simmons on a centerfire.

  18. Note that the hospitals here haven't been anywhere near capacity in the past 4 months. Most have been virtually empty. Given that society has been reopened for 2 weeks, if sick people aren't flocking to the hospitals now, I doubt they will.

  19. Other than what you military types were taught for busy work, is there really ever a need to remove the receiver extension?

  20. I had an issue with prescription pills for 2 years after having multiple back surgeries. I went to 2 treatment centers/ detox in a year. I’m 3 years clean now by the grace of God and a program I work daily. Anyways.. I’ve never had an issue buying firearms since then.

  22. Buck up guys. Take the political posturing out of it. It's some bad s h ite for sure. All you can do is take care of yourself and those who matter to you. Pay attention, be vigilant and don't be a macho jerk when it comes to wearing a mask. I expect a higher level of responsibility from TGO'ers.

  32. Had about 2 dozen last year with 3 feeders hanging off our deck. This year is a slow start but it's getting there. Feeders should be cleaned regularly and we usually clean them when we replace the sugar water. What made a difference with us is we hung flowers baskets at the same level as the feeders. They are attracted to red, and they really love Hibiscus. They play hide and seek in the flowers too. Comical lil buggers. But whether or not they are feeding, you are suppose to change the mix cause it will go bad. When they do start coming and the feeders are low, they tap and look in our kitchen window and/or come around to the other side of the house to see if I'm in the garage basically saying, we need more juice dad! PS: The red necks usually grow up to be the boss birds and they -will- bitch out other birds and families other then their own. They'll sit a little higher than the feeder and watch and wait.
