  1. This year made my 2nd year ever fishing for Crappie and my best year of fishing for them. I might catch bigger later on but for Watts Bar these are dang good fish and my personal best. Dont know the weight just got the measurements. The black went 16 1/4in and 12.5in Girth. The white went 15in with a 12in girth. All I know is they sure are good to look at so the $310 was well spent. I used a old piece of barn wood and stained the edges with Minwax Red Mahogany 225 to get that burnt look on the outer edges. And used Cocunut Oil for the rest to keep the color lighter.

  2. I had the opportunity to interview Charlie back in 06 when he was touring in Iraq. Also got to shoot (photos) the concert he did for the troops that night. What an amazing man... in his 70's, flying into a war zone so he can visit with and entertain the troops...and he worked like a dog the entire time. He did two hours of meetings and interviews before the concert, played HARD for 2 or 3 hours, stayed til well past midnight signing autographs, and then was up before dawn to attend a sunrise church service. Then he got on a helo, went to an even worse part of Iraq and did it again. It was a humbling experience watching him work. A great man who will be sorely missed. Oh, the concert was for the 48th BCT (or whatever they were calling Brigades at that point) out of Georgia, all of whom were about to head back home. He closed the concert w/ "The Devil Went Down to GA" and the roar that went up from the crowd was like nothing you've ever heard. It was a physical presence that felt like being hit by a wave in the ocean. Incredible experience.

  3. If I have to go out in public I'll wear one. It's my choice. What I do resent is all the armchair doctors acting like they know everything when it comes down to wearing one or not as well as being told I must. I'm old, have underlying heath issues as well as my wife. Even the health "professionals" can't agree and have in fact lied to the public so who knows for sure what's real or what's not? I don't advocate shutting things down cause if I were young I'd rather be working and taking precautions than sitting on my ass on the dole collecting government cheese. Since I'm old with underlying issues I choose to stay at home as much as possible. It's not like I'm bored at home with nothing to do. There is always more to do than I like.

  4. Lets get serious, if covid 19 was really as deadly as proclaimed, do you think wearing a paper, cloth or make shift mask would be sufficient to stop it?

  5. President Trump should play Simple Man at his rally's. Makes perfect sense what Charlie said. Crooked politicians and crime in the street. You know what's wrong in the world today people done put their Bibles away. And living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land. Well put Charlie, well put. And as AuEagle stated, he is playing in the heavenly band today, evidently the Lord needed a good fiddle player!!

  6. When last year? A nasty bug of similar description passed through here Nov-Jan. Personally, I think it was C-19, which helps explain the relatively low impact its had here since.

  7. And you think I don't? We are so focused on trying to protect everyone, when it's really just a small amount that truly needs protection. People in this country think very short term in response to things. The cry is always, "we have to do SOMETHING!" They never consider if the something is actually the best thing long term, or really even short term. Every one is quick to mask up but very few have asked, is this good for our bodies long term? Is this putting us at risk of other health issues (which I've already seen come up with my sister due to wearing a mask.) Is people wearing mask causing people who shouldn't be out taking risk to be out because now they feel "safe"? We have become too "clean" of a society and people are afraid to get any germs and that's now coming back to haunt us. Is there a middle ground, yes. Are we way past that middle ground, yes. Again, I have no issue with anyone wearing a mask if they desire to. I really don't. But people do not have the right to force health decisions, like wearing a mask, on other people. I care about people's right to chose for themselves how they take care of their own health. I may disagree with it sometimes, but I respect their right to chose.

  8. I'd like to add a personal experience. Last year I came down with a flu big of some sort. About 5 or 6 days in I really took a turn and was unable to get my breath. Never had anything like it. I drove myself to the ER and spent about 4 hours there and came home with a grocery list of drugs including steroids and inhalers. It took almost 6 weeks to get to the point where I just felt crappy. If this current bug is anything like that or worse then you really don't want it. It was 6 months before I began to feel better. So dO guess this latest big has me a little jiggy...

  9. Over the last decade we've all experienced and witnessed events and periods of ammunition shortages. The two year shortages during the Obama reign taught me a lesson and I had to restrict my match and practice activities to continue on. It was suggested to me by several people, I need to start reloading. Sounds good on the surface until you ask where they're getting their powder and primers from. The point is; if there's an ammo shortage for whatever reason, reloading supplies closely follow. The way I see it; with the political and social climate these days along with civil unrest, unforeseen events, production, circumstances and socialist political agendas, one of these days the 'perfect storm' will arrive. Think that will never happen? I never thought in my lifetime I'd see a small minority of radicals dictate the course and laws of the country, and be treated with 'kid gloves' and get their way and support by the liberal news media and Congress. Cities and states opting to disband and de-fund their only source of protection between civilization and anarchy. I won't mention tearing down statues or renaming military bases and much other nonsense; much less the continued and intensifying 2nd Amendment attacks. How much of the population of Canada, Australia, Mexico, etc. can sit down at their keyboards and order bulk pistol and AR ammunition whenever they wish? Why can't they and how did it get that way? We are in a war for our national identity and survival, government tyranny, radical civil rebellion and the freedoms hard earned by millions of patriots [and families] sweat, blood and tears. We are squandering it away piece by piece and losing the battle one step at a time. How many more times will we be afforded the opportunity to stock up on "things" at reasonable prices and availability??? I suggest next Novembers elections will determine the major concerns we share. We're no longer Unified States of America, much less the 'United States of America'. We're a house divided and the republicans, conservative's and patriots are always playing defense and never going on the offense. As a nation, we're sheep being willingly lead to the slaughter. We vote with our feet, and they're trying to dismember even our feet at the polls with their antics such as; ridding us of the electoral college, voter fraud, illegal alien voting, eliminating in person one day voting and so much more. Shew wee, what a long rant... It's OK, I just swallowed a handful of chill pills.

  10. Let's just say I'm good to go. It's nice to just grab an ammo can when I go shoot and not ever go ammo shopping.

  11. I guess times change, and Robertsons with it. I've bought once from them online and seemed like I was the long lost brother returning home. Next time...not so much. poor service and acted like not interested in my business. Last time I found something I wanted from them, I was told I couldn't come to their store, it was online only. Now granted that's been a couple of years back, but that's my experience with them.

  14. I was pretty sure you had played with Charlie at some point in your career. Like I've said before, I'd love to sit and listen to you talk about your musical adventures and escapades. lol Have you considered writing about it? Really, I'm sure a bunch of us would buy copies. But back on track...I think I've made posts about Charlie Daniels here already, and I can't tell you how many on FB. But Charlie deserves every single one. A good Christian man, a true America loving patriot, a great musician, and a true southern gentleman. Just a good ol' boy in all regards. I got to enjoy his music since his early days I think. First heard him at a Chili Cookoff. I think he may have gotten paid in chili. lol But got to see I think 3 live shows. He never disappointed, except maybe not playing long enough at the last Jam I saw. But didn't matter. He was, is, and always will be great in my eyes. Miss ya' Charlie. Now take a break, and Rest in Peace.

  18. I finally got my RSMc back from Shieldsights. They sent a new one, which is working fine now, so far. If it fails again, I'm going to look at the 407k for a replacement, as it fits the footprint, with mods having to be made to the 4 mounting posts. Not a major thing. Thing is, Holosun keeps moving the release date up. Time will tell.

  20. Thank you all for the prayers. I know Susan and I appreciate them all. I'll get Tad's mother and Julie, his girlfriend together and they can see these messages. I know they will appreciate them as well. Frank E. "Tad" Stratton's earthly remains are now back home here in Nashville. As of now, no time set for a memorial service. I guess Covid 19 interrupts all things. We are waiting in line for a time at the cemetery for the service. His mother wishes for a small private family gathering, though the outpouring of friends on FB might change that. No matter what else can be said of Tad, he touched many, many lives while he was here. Thank you all, my TGO Family. May God Bless you all for your concerns and prayer.

  21. I don't have either brand but both have been around quite a while so if you like what you see, I wouldn't be afraid to order. My two comments about Alabama Holsters is the fit and finish IMO opinion are a touch lower than some other brands. Also it looks like their belt loops are "cut" into the holster rather than adjustable loops so you aren't able to adjust the cant if want. Regarding the closest fitting OWB holsters, choose one that has adjustable "side wing mount" belt loops rather than back mounted loops. The side wings allow it to pull the holster in tighter. That's one thing we're blessed with is a plethora of holster makers, so Google is your friend. You should have a number of brands to choose from on the search. I will throw out one that I've used a couple of times and have been pleased with is linked below. The good thing about the style linked is that the holster can also be used as an IWB if you use the IWB spring clips. While it's not as small as an IWB only holster, it gives you some flexibility if OWB is your main carry choice. https://www.multiholsters.com/shop/outside-the-waistband-holsters/2-in-1-multi-holster/

  24. I went there once a couple of years ago for a set of hard to find grips they had. You have to ring a bell and tell them why you want in. The place is more of a warehouse than a store. Cluttered and difficult to find stuff in. I think about 95% of their business is internet sales. The folks there were friendly enough. But I suggest you call first and let them know you are coming.

  26. Dennis I think you wrote what a lot of people are thinking and discussing in their close circles. I certainly don't wish this to happen, but I am afraid there will be some violent conflicts soon if these "peaceful protesters" that are looting, burning, attacking cops and civilians and closing down interstates aren't arrested and put into the pokey for quite awhile. And if things aren't crazy enough, the black guy driving the Jaguar in Seattle on I-5 was arrested for hitting the little idiots blocking an Interstate highway. I am sorry that 1 was killed and 1 serious injuries, but if you stand in the interstate, there is a good probability you may encounter a vehicle that may not see you in time to avoid hitting you. Enough is enough and what is really crazy is the people in Britain, France, Australia and others are protesting. I'm sorry, but they ain't got a dog in this hunt. Best advice for all is to keep praying for this nation, because we can't do it alone!!
