  1. I was doing pretty good about reporting the Knoxville stats, but after a while, it just became numbing. I do what I need to do and no longer worry about it. Just not the way to live life.

  2. I just refinished a walnut M70 stock. 46 days start to finish. I can completely understand why folks charge hundreds for this......

  3. Hello everyone. I work in the IT department at a small college and live in a small rural town. 3 years ago my sister and brother-in-law bought me my first gun for Christmas. Today I own 3 handguns, a 9mm carbine and I just bought my first AR 15. Pre-Covid I went to the range about twice a month and went through 200 - 300 rounds per trip. Lately, it's almost impossible to find ammo at a reasonable price so my range time has been cut back drastically. I have my carry permit and have attended 2 other training/safety classes. I'm trying to get more involved in gun forums and organizations lately. Not too bad for never having touched a gun in the last 45 years

  4. Hey Guys & Gals, My name is David, I am recently retired from the medical field. Have enjoyed shooting all my life. Not much into hunting. Am into military history & associate weaponry. I used to shoot monthly.....often at Owl Hollow, sometimes Royal....occasionally Franklin Range.... not so much since the virus arrived. Hope to remedy that in a few months.

  5. Yeah, think I'm gonna just give up on this one. edit: That's why I'm posting just the TN death rate, a month to month comparison I've not found anywhere else. Of course, that cause of death can be debated too (and often is from the Right), but the death total is reported by TN daily, and our state gummit certainly has little of any kind of "blue" agenda. - OS

  6. Therein is the problem. It seems to me that the "data" is being put out in so many different formats it's meaningless. Surely you know the old saying.... " There are lies, damn lies, and statistics "

  8. That's really interesting. I know very little about how this stuff works, but these statements are telling... In a vernacular more familiar to me, the gain is set much too high for this testing. They didn't set these at 11, they set it at 13.

  9. They’re going to find out that for the most part most of the positive tests are wrong and I honestly believe that when it’s all said and done most of us have been exposed with no results.

  10. Flight hours are flight hours. If they take a 10 minute break from practicing refueling and doing touch-and-go's to fly over a stadium, so what? They're also practicing mission planning, coordinating with ATC and ground communications, and a whole host of other operational activities.

  11. It's actually not difficult, just time consuming. Even with Tru-oil, you really need to wait 24hrs between coats, sand down between every coat. You need to wet sand the first few applications to fill the grain & after 15 or so coats/days, you need to leave it 10-14 days before you can polish the gloss back to a nice satin sheen. The stock I just posted was 28 coats & is literally as smooth as glass now, but it took a lot of work. It took a lot longer, because my initial batch of finishing oil was contaminated & after 26 applications, it would no longer cure. I had to strip it all & start from scratch. I was heartbroken.....

  12. Steve can sharpen it for you. He has a great knife sharpening service. I believe he uses a Wicked Edge system. His edges are very sharp and durable. He has another job besides his knife business so he may be a little slow to reply but will take good care of you.

  14. Hey all, new member from Nashville. I work in the “music biz” (such as it is these days). Primarily interested in classic firearms with historical merit. I enjoy the bravado of single shot rifles.

  15. Hey y’all! I’m a NY transplant to TN and loving it! Initially moved here in 2003 and have been away off and on to NY, Africa and Germany, but the lion’s share since ‘03 has been here in NashVegas... As a Correctional Officer with TDOC, I have had to get reacquainted with firearms and have been loving the process! My wife asked a few months back, “Why don’t we own a gun?” and so we have embarked on this exciting journey towards competence. My main concealed carry rests between my ears and I try my best to develop that weapon as my first line of defense. Outside of that, I have a Glock 19 Gen 5 and a Glock 44 as a training analog. I am blessed to say my wife enjoys a little time at the range, although not as frequently, as I have been trying to shoot weekly at Franklin Range. Anyway, we are a strong Christian family with an affinity for the outdoors and are trying to learn about firearms and CCW as much as possible. We are always grateful to connect with like minded locals, so hit me up!! Ray LeGrand

  20. I love NFA threads. They always ultimately illustrate how ridiculous NFA laws are. Get used to that. If Biden wins, he and AlQaeda Harris have already made it clear they plan to shove a lot of modern rifles into classification as NFA items.

  22. Jhc77 - good find, I'm reaching out to them now. Hopefully they will work out. They my not be able to find a blue gun for it. I'm asking them if they can't. Can I drive to them and have them use the actual gun to make the holster.

  23. furycarrysolutions.com I have 2 of their holsters and have no complaints. They are in Maryville, TN also. Found this a few minutes ago. Q: What if I don't see my firearm listed? A: We offer a mold trade program. You purchase the gun mold that matches your firearm and mail it to our shop (we'll help you find the proper mold). We then build your holster from that mold. You receive the holster free of charge and we keep the mold to build holsters for future customers. You only pay the standard shipping fee for your holster. Your lead time starts once the mold arrives at our shop. *Mold Trade Program does not cover specialty colors.*

  24. Ditto to all; especially the Tru-Oil. Put it on in very thin layers; I like to use superfine steel wool between each coat.

  26. As a taxpayer who understands what a bottomless money pit the government and military is I want more flyovers! Certainly the AF and Navy can spare what is literally a few pilots to show the American people how awesome we are. The people do need to be reminded.

  27. THIS ! I agree its a waste at any sports event but they went further by endorsing a candidate. If they had done that for the OTHER candidate there would be bleeding heart libs demanding their jobs.

  29. When the NY Time is questioning things, there might be some issues:https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/29/health/coronavirus-testing.html A local Knoxville Doctor found out that Integrity Labs here in Knoxville is using a cycle threshold of 40. Asked why they were using such a high number they said it was because the FDA required them to. It's crazy because the majority of people who are testing positive on these PCR tests really aren't. The mask crap is because people are testing positive, don't have any symptoms and therefore are asymptomatic. However, in reality those people aren't really sick, can't spread the virus, and aren't really asymptomatic! It's crazy and the media is not really digging into this issue.

  30. Made the neck expander and loaded up a cylinder full of 160 gr lrn pc with 2 gr bullseye. With the spurless hammer hard for old crippled trigger finger to shoot probably 15 + pounds of pull. At 30 ft put all six on a 2' x2' square. Loaded a cylinder full using the 200 gr lrn pc with 1.4 gr bullseye. Put four in a 4" circle at 30 '. Happy with my results. Maybe the Brits were smarter than than we gave them credit for, using these for so long. Happy camper with this revolver. May have to find me a Webley 455.

  32. If your vacuum sealer has a canning jar adapter you can vacuum seal just about anything without crushing it. (Tried egg noodles in a bag,....... bad idea) You can open the jar and use what you need, then reseal it using the same lid. I place an oxygen absorber in my jars before vacuuming and I imagine they will be good long after I'm gone.

  34. Can’t seem to find the first one in the TCA so that is probably a good thing for a large chunk of the population. I have driven through every major city in the state ya know. There would be a lot of people in a whole lot of trouble if it really was an offense. The second isn’t a moving violation so who cares.

  35. Dear TGO Members... Tennessee Gun Owners is your organization. There is absolutely no need to seek administrative approval to organize local get togethers whether it be a trip to the range, lunch somewhere, dinner, a backyard BBQ, or whatever. We want you folks to get together in safe, friendly environments. Invite your non-firearms enthusiast friends! Bring your spouse, your kids, your significant other (but not at the same time as your spouse!). Get folks involved! The only things we ask are that: You assemble peaceably and in a legal fashion. You try to keep the event "Family Friendly" ... i.e. not at the local nudie bar You take pictures and post them in our gallery so everyone else can enjoy your fun! Please remember that if you assemble as TGO members, you're in essence representing this community. Do your best to put your best foot forward in the spirit of promoting a positive image of firearms owners and enthusiasts in the great state of Tennessee.

  36. New here? Step up and tell us about yourself. A good format to follow would be your first name (if you care to share it), where you're from, what your interests are, what gun(s) you have, where you like to shoot, etc. It helps break the ice and you might just find new friends as a result.

  37. For Sale. $900 Ruger Precision Rifle Gen 2. The rifle has recently been re-barrelled with a brand new Criterion 26in 6mm Creedmoor barrel. New barrel has less than 200 rounds thru it. Rifle includes an Area 419 Hellfire Self-Timing Brake, 2 Magpul mags. This is a great set-up for getting started in long-range precision shooting or PRS. The rifle is currently set up with the below accessories which are not included but if interested with the purchase of the rifle I would include and be flexible with prices. Atlas Bi-pod Athlon BTR Cronus (original box and accessories on hand) 4.5-29 x 56 34mm tube. I would include the Seekins precision rings with the scope. Located in Middle TN if interested.

  41. Great deals on GunBrokers!!!!! A listing for the top break used in Indiana Jones movie. Opening bid 5 million, yes you read that right $5 million. They all seem to be selling in the pandemic price panic mode. Had mine for a few years and finally have loaded and shot it some. Maybe could convince some one mine was the back up top break used in the movie. Would let mine go for $1.5 million!!!!!!
