  1. Back in September, y’all may remember that I went into my LGS to pick up a couple boxes of high velocity .22LR. After I picked up a couple of boxes, I decided to peruse the gun cases, not because I needed or wanted anything, but just to see what they had, just out of curiosity, of course. In case three, a certain item caught my eye. It was an stainless steel Interarms Walther .380acp PPK/s, and it looked like new. I asked to see it. The LGS owner said it was part of a 40 gun collection that they had just bought. And they had the case, with the manual, extra mag, cleaning rod and test target. I looked at the price, $500. I thought “Damn, I didn’t come in here for this.” Then the LGS guy said the magic words. We just started 12 month lay-a-way program. I left the store, after putting down $50 to putting the Walther in lay-a-way. Fast forward to today. I walked into the LGS and paid off the lay-a-way and filled out the paperwork. While they were doing the background check, I asked if they had a third magazine. So they checked and one guy said they just had one for a PPK. Will that wasn’t going to work. Then the other guy behind the counter said “Are you sure it’s a PPK/s and not a PPK?” So we all three looked and it sure enough it was a PPK! So I walked out of the GunStore with an immaculate LNIB stainless steel Interarms Walther PPK with a third mag and a used FOBUS holster for it, that they gave me! I’m overjoyed and can’t wait to get it to the range! Just call me Bond, James Bond!

  3. Excellent! A true classic. Wonderful carry guns. Every serious gun collector should own at least one. Post pics as soon as you can. I've mentioned many times before that I just sorta have a thing for the Walther PP series pistols. I have several versions in .380, .32 and .22 calibers. Still looking for the true Bond gun. A blue PPk in .32 acp. Maybe someday? 1st row: Interarms/Ranger PPK .380 .......German Walther/Interarms imported PPK/s .380 2nd row: S&W Made PPK/s in the scarce .32 ACP....... German Walther/Century imported PP .32acp 3rd row: Walther/Umarex PPK/s .22 ..... Interarms/Ranger TPH .22

  5. I think most folks know I lost Darby to Kidney failure about 2 months ago and I went on the quest for another best friend. I have Kasey and Darby both in urns on my Tv Console. I was limited to finding a new best friend as I couldn't go to the Rescue Centers in person to see the dogs. Well my daughter has Basset hounds and she went to pick up he newest puppy and she called me up while there and ask me if I would like to have a Bassett. The lady had a 6 year old female she was not going to breed again and was wanting to rehome her. She sent me a couple pictures and I told her to get the dog and bring it to me. Her name is Rosie and she is a pure bred female and he book name is Yellow Rose. The move to here from the kennel home was quite an adjustment since the breeder had her from a puppy and she was use to living in a kennel with other dogs around her. She spent the first couple days going around the house smelling and sniffing everything in every room. I spent a lot of time with her and learned that she loves all the attention she can get so I may spend a few hours just rubbing her ears and petting her and she soaks it up like a sponge.....LOL I will try and post a picture of her.

  12. I have had the Griffin Optimus for about 4 years now, nothing but good things to say about it. I also just got it back from them last month after sending it in for the baffle upgrade, they are very helpful and have always been responsive when I've asked questions. I run it routinely on my 10.3" 5.56mm SBR, 8.2" 300 BLK, 16" 5.56mm KAC, 16" 308 LMT MWS, QC9 8" 9mm AR, and Henry 357 X lever action using the taper mounts. I also use the 3 lug adapter on my B&T APC9 Pro and the booster piston on a host of pistols. I don't run it on any of my rimfires, that is solely handled by my Silencerco Sparrow. So if you have any questions on the GA Optimus feel free to ask.

  15. I think the issue you experienced with fuzziness on the monitor with the Samsung is likely due to it not being able to drive a full 4K monitor well via an HDMI cable. I think you'd need to dial back the resolution. If the MacBook Air is a 2019 model - you've got a couple of Thunderbolt 3 ports - and that machine will drive at least 2 4K displays at a higher refresh rate than the Samsung would. Were it me, and I wanted to keep my total spend less than $1000, I'd buy a couple decent 4K monitors, an external keyboard and mouse - and just use it in clamshell mode. That way, you can run both monitors at a depth of field that suits you - and you don't have to worry about looking back from one screen at one resolution to the other. If you prefer Windows to MacOS, you could always install it via Bootcamp and even boot to Windows by default. Or, if you just want a Windows machine to boot as desired - you could do it like we do and run VMWare Fusion - at which point you can just run a Windows machine basically as an app.

  16. Hand twisting an appropriate sized drillbit in the gas ports helps clean them out as well. Also you might need to take your cleaning brush and some extra fine steel wool and polish your chamber. Sometimes sticky extraction is a problem.

  17. Moped: First off, thank you for the kind comments. The Walther PP series are some great pistols. I went back and edited the pic to show what each one is. Its just been kinda dumb luck that I've stumbled across these over the years. and picked them up. The one on the bottom left is the current production .22 cal PPK/s made by Umerex for Walther. If you want a PPK/s in this caliber then this is the way to go. Original Walther made .22s are serious collector's items worth big bucks. Just a spare mag falls into unicorn territory at several hundred dollars. .32s can be had a reasonable prices. The problem is that most of them are WW II or earlier and these are the ones bringing thousands of dollars from collectors. If you can find one of the later made guns, especially Interarms, they can be had considerably cheaper. In many cases the guns are inherited or maybe traded for and the current owner doesn't realize what they have. All they know is that is just a measly, little .32 and ain't worth much. That's exactly the story behind my .32 PP. It was a former Police gun imported back in the 80s by Century. Young man inherited the gun and just wanted to get rid of it. I got that one cheap. BTW: twice I've had this one at the range and somebody tried to buy it right there on the spot. The only reason I own the S&W PPK/s is because it is in the scarce .32 caliber which is rarely seen. The last owner just knew it was a .32 and not that popular. But he did recognize the Walther name. I got that one at a fair price, but no great bargain. C'mon Now! Still waiting to see pics of your new toy!

  19. I've had similar happen several times. Ad says guy is local, but when you ask to meet FTF he says he's located out of town, but will be happy to ship. Not hardly. On Armslist do local FTF only with actual inspection. Anything else is a sure sign of a scam.

  21. I’ve used a MEC 600 Jr quite a bit and it blows away the Lee Load All. I picked up a second one used for $60. They are not fast—I can load maybe 100 rounds an hour, but there is no case prep/cleaning and gaging like there is with brass case cartridges. Whatever the extra cost is over a Load All, it’s worth it. I’ve had mixed results with adjustable charge bars and would avoid them. What gauge do you plan to load? Not sure about current birdshot prices, but at $5-6/box, it’s tough to save much for 12. On the other hand, you can save a ton on .410 and to a lesser extent on 28 and 20. I’ve loaded more 20 ga. than anything.

  23. If you're already looking at the Q products, you could always get a Trash Panda for the 300blk and 223. You can find dealers that have them in stock and just get it transferred to your preferred dealer. I do strongly suggest looking at this website ( https://pewscience.com )for actual real world suppressor ratings and reviews before you purchase a suppressor. I am not affiliated with that website personally, but I do listen to the podcast and read the reviews. Like Alleycat said, Silencershop is a good resource but you're going to need more than 1 suppressor considering the different firearms and calibers you mentioned.

  24. Over the last decade we've all experienced and witnessed events and periods of ammunition shortages. The two year shortages during the Obama reign taught me a lesson and I had to restrict my match and practice activities to continue on. It was suggested to me by several people, I need to start reloading. Sounds good on the surface until you ask where they're getting their powder and primers from. The point is; if there's an ammo shortage for whatever reason, reloading supplies closely follow. The way I see it; with the political and social climate these days along with civil unrest, unforeseen events, production, circumstances and socialist political agendas, one of these days the 'perfect storm' will arrive. Think that will never happen? I never thought in my lifetime I'd see a small minority of radicals dictate the course and laws of the country, and be treated with 'kid gloves' and get their way and support by the liberal news media and Congress. Cities and states opting to disband and de-fund their only source of protection between civilization and anarchy. I won't mention tearing down statues or renaming military bases and much other nonsense; much less the continued and intensifying 2nd Amendment attacks. How much of the population of Canada, Australia, Mexico, etc. can sit down at their keyboards and order bulk pistol and AR ammunition whenever they wish? Why can't they and how did it get that way? We are in a war for our national identity and survival, government tyranny, radical civil rebellion and the freedoms hard earned by millions of patriots [and families] sweat, blood and tears. We are squandering it away piece by piece and losing the battle one step at a time. How many more times will we be afforded the opportunity to stock up on "things" at reasonable prices and availability??? I suggest next Novembers elections will determine the major concerns we share. We're no longer Unified States of America, much less the 'United States of America'. We're a house divided and the republicans, conservative's and patriots are always playing defense and never going on the offense. As a nation, we're sheep being willingly lead to the slaughter. We vote with our feet, and they're trying to dismember even our feet at the polls with their antics such as; ridding us of the electoral college, voter fraud, illegal alien voting, eliminating in person one day voting and so much more. Shew wee, what a long rant... It's OK, I just swallowed a handful of chill pills.

  25. If this has been posted before, I missed it, so forgive me. I thought it was hilarious and wanted to share it. A Pastor bought a Donkey and decided to enter him in a race. The donkey won. The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS. This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Pastor to get rid of the donkey. The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN. The Bishop fainted. He informed the Nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farm for $10. The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10 This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. The Bishop was buried the next day. The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and just cover your own !!! You'll be a lot happier and live longer!

I've lost 20 pounds from prior to the illness. Good thing is I can now drink cheap bourbon and not give a ####.
