  1. Well I was trying to see if she might play with toys so I dug out some of the old dog toys I had stored and scattered them out on the floor and she nosed them around on the floor and would make one squeak once in a while but never showed much interest. Yesterday she was outside playing in the snow and when she came back in she had a toy she found outside but not what I thought she would like so much. She had an empty water bottle and was running through the house throwing it and chasing it and crunching on it making it crackle. She played with it off an on all day. I was really surprised when we got ready for bed and she went and got her toy and put the toy in her bed and I said now you have a toy to sleep with. I laughed at her and 3 times during the night she woke me up playing with the toy. She has been playing with it today also....LOL.

  2. I whipped this one up by compositing a few photos. It seems appropriate for 2020.

  3. Just got off the phone with Sig. The employee seemed surprised to hear about the firing pin. They have completely redesigned the the BCG and firing pin and don't have any spare parts they can send me. The only option is to send back the upper on their dime. Apparently the repair shop has the parts to fix it and send it back. He even said it was an overkill solution to a simple problem. Hopefully the new design is an improvement and the gun will be reliable after this.

  4. By popular demand, I am happy to unveil to you all a DARK visual theme for TGO. You can select it by scrolling to the bottom of the page, finding the link for "THEMES" and selecting TGO Dark Earth from the list as shown in the screenshot below. The Benefactor members have been helping me test the new design for the past 24 hours or so and I've used their feedback to refine it into something that I think is reasonably ready for prime time use. With that being said, this is still very much a first public release. It's a one-dot-zero (1.0) in tech terms. This means that you and I are probably going to discover things together that I need to fix or modify. When that happens, please use the Feedback and Support forum to report whatever issue you have found. I can tell you now that you will find that other members have chosen to use colors in their posts that simply do not look good on a dark background. It will also become very obvious when you see that someone has copied text from another website and pasted it into the editor here when making a new post. Often that brings over a background color for whatever they are pasting, and it looks like . When you discover that, bear in mind that there isn't much I can do about it. Just reply and tell your friends to cut it out. Alright... no more jibber jabber from me. Get on with it. Bring on the darness!

  6. So I needed some gas rings for my AR. I tried Palmetto state Armory but no luck. I ended up at MidwayUSA. It has been a long time since I browsed that place. So, 190$ later I have all kinds of doodads coming my way for my rifles. I got a couple of spring/pin kits for repair but some tacticool stuff like some miculekesque compensators and a couple of charging handles. They have some uppers in stock that seem priced reasonable. They may get some more of my money later this week.

  7. So I ordered a blade and scales from knifekits.com. The handles are amber dyed, jigged camel bone. Of course the blade is damascus. My hat's off to you knife makers. This is rather trying on one's patience.

  8. Back in September, y’all may remember that I went into my LGS to pick up a couple boxes of high velocity .22LR. After I picked up a couple of boxes, I decided to peruse the gun cases, not because I needed or wanted anything, but just to see what they had, just out of curiosity, of course. In case three, a certain item caught my eye. It was an stainless steel Interarms Walther .380acp PPK/s, and it looked like new. I asked to see it. The LGS owner said it was part of a 40 gun collection that they had just bought. And they had the case, with the manual, extra mag, cleaning rod and test target. I looked at the price, $500. I thought “Damn, I didn’t come in here for this.” Then the LGS guy said the magic words. We just started 12 month lay-a-way program. I left the store, after putting down $50 to putting the Walther in lay-a-way. Fast forward to today. I walked into the LGS and paid off the lay-a-way and filled out the paperwork. While they were doing the background check, I asked if they had a third magazine. So they checked and one guy said they just had one for a PPK. Will that wasn’t going to work. Then the other guy behind the counter said “Are you sure it’s a PPK/s and not a PPK?” So we all three looked and it sure enough it was a PPK! So I walked out of the GunStore with an immaculate LNIB stainless steel Interarms Walther PPK with a third mag and a used FOBUS holster for it, that they gave me! I’m overjoyed and can’t wait to get it to the range! Just call me Bond, James Bond!

  9. We had a great time. All our daughters and families were here for a week. We did lots of outdoor activities. Our first born has a horse farm with 2 4 wheelers and our grandkids rode them big time. Took family pictures on horses and in the woods on her farm. Went on trail rides, and hikes all over her 90 acre farm. We eat like kings, big turkey and ham thanksgiving day feast with all the trimmings. Had country ham, biscuit, bacon, sausage, and egg breakfast every morning. The girls got in Black Friday shopping and we generally had a wonderful week. Had not seen two of our daughters and families for over a year. It was time for us. "Reed Manor" was full once again. Hope we don't get sick??? Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving holiday yourselves. May go to Charleston S C for Christmas. Will see how coved goes.

  11. I think most folks know I lost Darby to Kidney failure about 2 months ago and I went on the quest for another best friend. I have Kasey and Darby both in urns on my Tv Console. I was limited to finding a new best friend as I couldn't go to the Rescue Centers in person to see the dogs. Well my daughter has Basset hounds and she went to pick up he newest puppy and she called me up while there and ask me if I would like to have a Bassett. The lady had a 6 year old female she was not going to breed again and was wanting to rehome her. She sent me a couple pictures and I told her to get the dog and bring it to me. Her name is Rosie and she is a pure bred female and he book name is Yellow Rose. The move to here from the kennel home was quite an adjustment since the breeder had her from a puppy and she was use to living in a kennel with other dogs around her. She spent the first couple days going around the house smelling and sniffing everything in every room. I spent a lot of time with her and learned that she loves all the attention she can get so I may spend a few hours just rubbing her ears and petting her and she soaks it up like a sponge.....LOL I will try and post a picture of her.

  12. I never wanted a 5.56 suppessor until I shot my buddies m4-2000. Got a Thunderbeast that week. It's on an 18" gun I put together. It's my go to farm gun. Probably have 15 groundhogs and 20 or so deer on that setup.

  14. I'm not as addicted as you are, but I have 5 cans. I'm trying to talk myself out of getting a 30 cal. OSS suppressor. I am intrigued with how different they are from the majority of silencers that use baffles. I very much like the concept of no back pressure for use on my Tavors since the ejection port is so close to my face. They sure want a premium for their design though. Although the price is steep, the biggest obstacle to making the purchase is how much I hate the BATFE wait for approval.

  18. I ran into Win M855 5.56 at Academy in Johnson City last night at $10 per 20 round box. Limit 3 boxes. Not far off from what pre-panic prices were since this is not the cheapest stuff. But I bet the 50 boxes were gone before they closed. My normal pick up there used to be Tula or their Monarch at $5 or $6 per box. Not as cheap as buying bulk, but sometimes easier to swing 5 boxes of that at a time especially after all the online places had to start collecting tax.

  19. I order from them frequently. My only complaint is their shipping. They use that sure post or whatever it's called (shipped UPS then turned over to USPS) and it delays arrival for sometimes two days here. I did figure out though, if you include any ammo in your order (50 round box of .22 ) they will ship the whole thing UPS. Of course, that was when they had ammo !!

  20. I just looked on SG ammo which is a good place to buy in normal times. They have limited quantities of most ammo, but had more .50 BMG ammo than anything. 38 special only ammo in stock was wadcutters at $0.90 each, with a 3 box limit. And that my friends is why I reload. I can load that same ammo at around $0.06 each only 150% cheaper. For all those people that talk about not counting my time, well the last reloading session I saved about $882.00. Not bad for less than a days work. I had to add this, just saw 10mm FMJ ammo on SG for $0.70 per round. This is crazy folks.

  21. I got the blade, pins, and scales at knifekits.com, in case anyone else here wants to put one together. I can highly recommend this company. I’ve field dressed deer with a large variety of knives, and can say this one is closer to perfect for that task than any I’ve tried.

  28. Yes. It is a great thing you are doing. To give a home to any animal is wonderful, but not many are willing to accept the possible risks of older ones. I congratulate and admire you for this. I know Rosie is getting a good home and you reap the benefits of love and friendship.

  30. Well no ones more trustworthy than a politician. Of any stripe... Worst case scenario is to be frugal and when this passes....and it will, take advantage of all those guys who want to get rid of their loading stuff. And let me add you can't beat a Rock chucker. They always go for cheap after a Crises. I've got 3. Lol

  31. Let me be an ass and say again...did you forget Obama?. I understand if you don't want to reload. But if that's the case you have to horde some serious ammo. The next 4 years might be challenging. Good luck.

  34. If this has been posted before, I missed it, so forgive me. I thought it was hilarious and wanted to share it. A Pastor bought a Donkey and decided to enter him in a race. The donkey won. The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS. This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Pastor to get rid of the donkey. The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN. The Bishop fainted. He informed the Nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farm for $10. The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10 This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. The Bishop was buried the next day. The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and just cover your own !!! You'll be a lot happier and live longer!
