  1. I’d be concerned about researching it too much. Google might send the ATF to my house.

  2. Here is a thought. First after explosion most thought is terrorism. If you have a plane looking to finish the job or do more damage you now stick out heading toward closed airspace. Also keep the nosey media choppers out of the area and I'm sure some of them would love to fly too low and possibly damage something or rotor wash move evidence.

  3. So is the “faux outrage” still ridiculous? Is it not ridiculous that requiring people to “show their papers” to see a movie is now being discussed?

Holy smokes, there are no words that me or my family can say other than thank you all so much for your love, faith and friendship. I know my pop is overwhelmed to see the outpouring from all of his dear friends, old and new. And I personally will never be able to thank you all. You’re all family. 9. First and foremost I want to voice my extreme appreciation to @KahrMan for accelerating our ability to offer this to you. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting him, KahrMan is without a doubt one of the most generous and selfless people I have known. When he read that the set-up for embroidery to do TGO logo apparel had a substantial cost, without hesitation he stepped in and made it happen. We are fortunate to have amassed a group of exceptional people here on TGO. Not a week goes by that I am not reminded of that. But generosity like this directly benefits all of us and I just could not let it go unheralded. I cannot thank him enough. With all of that being said, please enjoy shopping the new TGO merchandise catalog in our Queensboro store: CLICK HERE TO GO SHOPPING! A few things to note: I will get a permanent link to this added to the menu at the top of the site. All orders are fulfilled by Queensboro and TGO receives a small portion of each sale. While I will do everything that I can to help you with any issues that might arise, our involvement here is actually very limited. I do not have any control over what they have in inventory or what their lead-times are. Please pay close attention to what they state the time-to-delivery is for your order before you commit to the purchase. I think most things ship within two weeks. Do bear in mind that these items are made to order, so it takes a few days for that to happen. I would love to hear about your experiences with the shop and the merchandise!

  10. Just picked this up last Friday at Goodlettsville Gun Shop, they handled the Transfer for me. I purchased this one off of another site I belong to. Came with orginal bag, owners manual, and one Mag. I found another orginal Mag. and bought it, man the original Mags. are expensive if you can find them. As soon as I feel well enough I'm going to take it out and run some rnds. through it. I've always wanted one of these for some reason.

  12. Possibly so, but the premise was that businesses should get to make determinations on who comes in. ERs are businesses.

  13. A bit far fetched, IMNSHO. Ironically though, we're spottily seeing something akin to that, in that overrun hospitals are having to turn away lots of less dire patient situations they'd normally admit. - OS

  14. You'd be way better off with a .357 magnum load. Lots of people talk about energy needed to reliably kill. As long as you got penetration and at least a little expansion, they will kill fairly quickly. With a hard cast, you need a wide flat nose. It will work better if there's no expansion.

  15. That's the issue. Will it kill a deer, yes. Will it do it humanely, probably not. I am talking factory loads. Like Gregintenn mentioned you could hand load something that could work well but .38 special would not be high on my list to hunt deer with.

  18. Depending on what it was, it really isn't that hard. There are many many materials that can be used to make a rather impressive explosion. One of the things they taught us in Sapper School was the use of improvised explosives, and some worked better, IMO, than the commercially available products. One, a cratering charge, which is used to deny the enemy the use of landing strips, was just oil and fertiliser, with a stick of TNT as the charge. The TNT can be replaced with a pipe bomb, and the fertiliser (now hard to get due to McVeigh), an oxidizer, can also be replaced with varied types of everyday chemicals. No, you don't have to be super rich or well off, or have vast knowledge to put something like that together, you just need determination and an agenda.

  22. I have a question. How does an unemployed IT guy lay hands on the amount of explosive necessary to produce this much damage?

  23. At least down here the snow only stays on the ground for a few days to a week. Some years in NY we didn't see the ground from before Thanksgiving till March and the piles finally went away in April or May. My only surprise was when they talked about more snow at higher elevations that the 300' we are up on the side of the mountain can make a difference of 2 or 3" of snow from a mile away. A neighbor that now lives about 200 feet lower than us use to live about 300 feet further up and he said that would make another 2-3" of difference.

  25. Yeah, I understand the economic argument, however.... If you fork over now for a permit that does not have an expiration, will they be able to prevent you from renewing it? I worry that one day politicians will attempt to make the permitting process much more onerous. I lived in NY for the first 40 years of my life, I speak from experience...So the thinking goes I'm permitted for life. They would have to revoke it, vs making renew difficult.Worth 200 clams to. me

  26. For what it's worth, i would'nt recommend the 38 spl +p self defense ammo for hunting. Im thinkin the hollow points are constructed too light and might mushroom too quick for a decent kill. That bein said, i use an old 38-44 handload with a 173 grain SWC that chronographs an honest 1200 fps out of my 3 3/4 inch ruger sheriff usin 2400. That will kill em clean. leroy

  27. The two ways we kill deer are by blood loss or hydrostatic shock, or both. Big slow bullets tend to kill by hemorrhaging while fast bullets, regardless of size, tend to drop game animals even faster by hydrostatic shock which pretty much snuffs out the nervous system, which is why many times when you pull that trigger on a high power caliber, the animal drops in its tracks. Using a slow, small pistol round to take a deer is minimal in my opinion. A .38 at 1200 FPS, even if it's a 158 gr., is still twice as slow as a 150 gr. out of a 30-30, which to most riflemen, is at the bottom of the power scale. It can be done, but there are better choices. I have and like taking deer with handguns myself, but I've always stuck to .44 magnum. Seems to work for me. I'm no ballistic expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

  32. To be fair, we do it everywhere as well. We tell everywhere else what they need to be doing. I care about as much what they think as they do what I think. Of course some are going to think it’s great. So be it. I quit worrying about what others think a long time. Only those looking for validation will give two craps what China thinks.

  33. This is in no way surprising, given the totalitarian nature of the Communist government in China. However, most of the world has no history of the "right to bear arms", and much of the world imposes restrictions, many severe, on private ownership and possession of guns. As such, many people across the world, not just those in dictatorships and under repressive governments, have little understanding of gun issues in the US, and honestly can't understand or sympathize with the existence of our second amendment, the number and prevalence of privately owned arms in the US, or our desire to maintain individual gun rights and privileges. Most see it as an anachronism not relevant to modern societies, leading to a wide gulf in how we and they view gun ownership, individual rights and the necessity of an armed citizenry ...

  38. I too like to test my experimental mRNA therapy on children. Especially pregnant women. "Its like ScIeNcE.... im like.... so much smarter than you kuz like....I like.....science. im a science zer...science. science science. If I keep saying science do I sound smart.... SCIENCE lol" In all seriousness you gotta do what you gotta do but I surely hope that we let this rock along a good while longer before giving it to kids and pregnant women. Whatever the conciquences a child has to live with it forever.
