  1. Gregg the line crew that fixed mine yesterday said the 7,200 volt lines are supposed to have a 20 foot on either side of blue sky. The lines from transformer to your house are supposed to be 10 foot on either side of blue sky. There is a cedar limb about 2 foot over my line and main line there are trees withing 3 feet. I will be taking some pictures and meeting with the UCEMC manager after the power is restored and let him know.

  2. Well a friend attended the new venue for RK at Bristol and reported back it was a flop in his opinion. He's a regular attendee for wheeling and dealing and said attendance was down vs the Meadow view show in Kingsport or even Gray and the Kingsport city venue. It may have been due to the new location gaining legs or the over abundance of local shows and many people thinking everything will be priced at the show like it is online and why pay money to see endless tables of overpriced ammo.

  4. I see a lot of near term heads up and reviews of past shows, but I thought I'd give a couple of links to see upcoming shows a little further ahead than that. https://gunshowtrader.com/gunshows/tennessee-gun-shows/ https://rkshows.com/events/category/tennessee/ http://www.greatamericanpromotionsllc.com/ https://www.gkshow.org/spring-show-information

  5. You read that right. Reloading primers with paper caps. You know paper caps, back when young boys played with real toys. Primers are not available so, some guys are doing this. Match heads are supposed to work too but, you don't see the strike anywhere matches a lot anymore.

  6. Knight used Green Mtn barrels on their muzzle loaders and they were known for good accuracy.

  7. The utilities here did that after the big round of spring storms about 5 years ago. They've been much more proactive about keeping the trees cut back off the lines. Can't fix the idiots that crash into poles in the snow, but I think its definitely reduced outages.

  8. My father was looking into something like this for his 9mm Glocks...I purchased an FX-9 from Freedom Ordanance in November 2020 and shot it on his backyard range.....he is still looking for one today....pur a 2.5x red dot o it and out to 50 yards it is more fun than should be legally allowed with a 9mm pistol that can occasionally...snicker...yeh right....find your way to your shoulder when shooting....but damn it eats 9mm ammo fast!!!

  9. I own a Ruger Mark IV 22 and a Walther P22 which have taught my wife and many teenagers the joy of shooting. Recently had a chancce to shoot a Glock G44 and I am not a Glock fanboy but it shot well and was accurate and fun to shoot. My buddy has a Ruger SR 22 and his kids ages 8, 10 and 13 love it. Plus in our times of expensive ammo....plink all afternoon on $100......

  10. I lived through the blizzard of 1951 in Mt Sterling KY. We had 18" of snow with drifts of 36" of snow in some areas. We then got about 1" of sleet on top of the snow and as a small child I could walk on the snow without breaking through. I don't remember how long the snow stayed on the ground at that time. I have lived here in Mid TN since 68 and can't remember ever having this much snow at one time. My daughter got 7" in Eagleville TN, at her horse farm. Talked to her this afternoon and her ground is still completely white and says it is melting but still has a few inches. Most of ours will be gone by dark. I had to go help my daughter, at the farm yesterday, and stopped to get some Diesel Fuel and took a bad fall. I mean I ended up staring at the roof, in about 2 seconds off black ice. Two fine young men came and helped me to get up. I hoped I thanked them because it kinda stunned me. They had scraped the drive, but the ice was under the snow and the drive just looked wet, however it was a solid sheet of thin ice in a small circle. I happened to bust it dead center and paid the price. Pulled my hamstring in the back of my leg while trying to get up, but didn't break anything. I was very lucky because a 73 Y O has no business out and walking on ice. Am a bit sore today. I will try to do better the next time, L/w. All-n-all, its been a good snow and my sweetie and I have enjoyed looking at it through the window, for the most part.

  11. I'm hearing very favorible things about the Hi-Point 10mm carbines too! I have 7 -10 round Hi-Point mags and one of those Pro Mag 15 rounders (which I will not use). I'd be willing to trade someone that wants to fool with the Pro Mag, for another Hi-Point 10 round mag, if anyone is interested in the Knoxville area.

  12. This world has gone insane. If it gets to the point I have to reload primers I will just start buying big bore PCP guns and forget primers and powder all together.

  13. Ah the smell of fresh vanilla. The most potent aphrodisiac in the world for me. A young lady I almost married back in my Cookeville/Sparta days wore something that smelled like vanilla. It was my weakness for many months. I followed her around like dog chasing a rabbit. lol To this day, I cannot smell anything of vanilla aroma and not think of her.

  16. Not yet, but have 1k on-hand and 3k more caps on order (almost as hard to get as real primers now). Figure to use these in my 9mm AR rounds with cast boolits, so if I get a FTF, no loss. But from a few posts on http://castboolits.gunloads.com/ there are a few that have successfully done it so it should be no problem, and I have quite a few spent primers to play with.

  17. Powder is few and far between. Gamaliel has some sometimes. You might check with them every once in awhile.

  18. And that is why we don't act like jackasses to other people in public because #1 it is not cool, #2 it does nothing constructive and #3 you never know exactly where someone is mentally and you could end up being the straw that breaks the camel's back and #4 you never know who is primed and capable of delivering a biblical level of retribution. What is it Spaide said as he shot Mrs Goy in the head? "You should've kept your f&^%ing mouth shut!" Seems pretty clear what the motivation was.....

  19. 995 fan here. Thousands of rounds, accurate and reliable. Solid 9mm PCC. Have 2 - 20 round Red Ball mags, few hundred rounds, no issues. Easy to reload with 10 round mags, which are still currently legal in most US states. Down side is it is heavy. I added a HTA bullpup stock to mine and it's 9#+ For $200+ more, there are better options if weight and common mag availability is a concern. According to the internet, 16" barrel gets you about +200fps. It's still a pistol bullet. If you're concerned about range folk talk about exploding, self discharging HPs, eff 'em. SIght it in, keep in moderately clean and lubricated, then ring steel at 25 to 50 yards 10/10 times with no malfunctions.

  24. I can't devote 90 minutes to this but I made it to around 30 minutes. It's more of the same "us vs them" from Justin. According to him, you can't be part of the gun community unless you voted for Trump. He said that around the 16 minute mark. Rob nailed it. You can either be a group that welcomes in new people or we can continue to be a group that's 95% middle age white guys. No offense to anyone here, but I think we can all agree that's who makes of the vast majority of the gun culture. We have 1-2 black members here. People like Colion Noir are rare, and we need more of them. Now, there are plenty of non-white gun owners out there, but we don't exactly do anything to bring them into the fold. This latest attempt by Fenix just creates more divide. All of this has been discussed on the forum before so I'm going to leave it at that. I can't say more without breaking the TGO rules.

  34. My understanding is that you could make .308 into 6.5 CM, but seems harder. Not sure if the blanks were brass or steel and that would probably matter. No 6.5 in my house right now, so no go for me. Though I saw some brass that might make me buy one....
