  2. Yep! What Cheaper Than Dirt did to me in 2007 was straight out of a prison shower scene. I haven’t been without a surplus of supplies since.

  7. There are many people that are Anti Gun to hear them talk that all own a gun. Many Democrats preach about being anti gunners that own a gun and many own several. Those like Pelosi and other politicians are the ones that do the most preaching about gun control are surrounded by people protecting them with guns. It's easy to be against owning guns when you are surrounded by people protecting them with them!! Then there are actors like Liam Nieseom (spelling) that is totally anti 2nd Amendment but uses them in about every movie he makes in Hollywood. I won't watch any of his movies. I will watch all of the John Wick movies because Kennan Reeves is pro 2nd amendment and will say it openly when asked. I'm sure Hollywood would not use him but he draws to much money in all his movies. Dianne Feinstein admits she has a carry permit and owns and carries a gun yet votes to keep lawful Americans from owning them! Typical Democrat!!!

  8. I know I'm the new guy here but I figure my opinion is worth as much as any here. I've been through many of these political motivated anarchies. It does nothing but pit us against each other and we are foolish enough to play right into their hands. Yes we create a false shortage which makes the Ammo and all reloading components skyrocket in price. Just like a run on fuel shortages did in the past. WE are all responsible for this. Believing that any one person can control the second amendment, that's not the way the system works. If WE continue to create this false shortage WE all pay the price. This too will pass and the Ammo issue is self correcting. WE as good stewards must share what WE can spare and at the cost of what you have in it. I'm not saying you should give it away. Just remember who WE were during this issue and by all means remember who THEY were while gouging for extra cash. I can only only hope that if this were a food shortage WE would all act differently.

  10. I look at it this way, right or wrong. If you sell your stash at market prices, then that is between you and the buyer. But, if you purposefully clean out the LGS or other sporting goods store at normal prices just to turn around and sell them at market prices then you are a douchbag. You are not adding any value to the sale whatsoever. You just took away someone's opportunity to purchase at near normal (cause it's going up everywhere) just to line your pockets.

  12. LOL. I wound up with 5000 Minimags that I will probably never manage to shoot up. But, I waited and bought all of them right.

  13. I do not feel like I have any responsibility for this. I have not bought or sold the first box of ammo during this shortage. I prepare for times like this so I don't have to play that game. If you think I am, please explain.

  15. Ya know, I get the idea and where you're coming from @leafinthewind. The problem is thats a very naieve view of how the world IS. Take off the rose colored glasses man. Most people are a$$holes! We're talking about ammo, not food! And despite the trend in society at large, nobody reading this is in imminent life threatening danger. You can argue wether action A is morally permissable, but nothing in this life is obligated to follow your definition of moral (regardless of the consensus). If someone charges price $###.## for a product and someone else pays it, why are you even in the conversation? The internet is a fascinating place because nobody ever gets punched in the mouth. You can flame people about any old thing that chafes you the wrong way that particular morning, and never have to atone for it (case in point!) I learned a looooooooong time ago to write out missives just like yours, and then delete it. Does nobody any good, least of all you. What you're doing here is essentially arguing that capitalistic pricing of ammunition is amoral. GTFO. You'd rather live in a country where the goobermint dictates what a 'fair price' would be? We have those places, you can go. If two private parties want to exchange goods and/or services its none of my damned business. Period.

Side note, my wife actually got me one of these for my birthday. I'm still researching all it does but I do know a few things. 1) I can text with people. 2) it has an SOS button I can hit if I get hurt or break down. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/561269

  19. My wife's Grandma is getting up there in years and her daughter(my MIL) asked if I wanted to buy this gun. No one knew what it was other than to say it was a .22lr revolver. She only wanted $50 and would include all the ammo they could find which ended up being around 150. I ended up giving her $70 but I'm still not sure who got the better deal. @Garufa helped me identify it as a Herbert Schmidt Ostheim. Then I figured out it's a Model 10. I dug a bit further to figure out more info and this is what I found. The internet wasn't kind to this gun. "It's a rebrand or a copy of the Rohm RG-10, historically one of the worst revolvers ever made.I believe they were $12 brand new, made of pot metal and barely able to function. Those types of guns were specifically targeted in the '68 gun control act, banning the import of cheap 'Saturday night specials'. It's a little piece of history now. In excellent condition with the box it could bring $100 or so. Keep in mind those types of guns are infamous for spitting lead and cracking apart under pressure, don't expect to get more than $50 out of it easily." I test fired it in their yard and it worked! So, does anyone have any experience with H&S revolvers? I've been unable to figure out when this one was made.

  20. Ladies and gentlemen I am here to BRAG! I have the greatest wife ever. I just purchased two new to me Taurus handguns this evening from Gunbroker. So y'all know I overpaid on these. No matter, I've wanted these two since they first came out and that isn't the topic. I forgot that GB is now charging tax on out of state sales so the total was over what I expected. She didn't complain, when I stopped bidding on one she said the total wasn't bad for two pistols I wanted. She is a saint, these are not "needed" purchases like what I bought last year. These two were purely wants. and now I have to find .357 ammo. Anyone have a suggestion on how I slip that one in?

  21. During the last 20 years i was required to wear Flame Retardant clothing in chemical, refining and fuel industries. Carhartt was my choice for the majority of that time due to fit and quality. If my size doesn't require a change, it will be several years before my supply is worn out. As I don't need FR any longer, price will become a factor. I'll probably see what is available at Costco or Sams.

  22. I recently had a fellow member of the State Guard mention needing primers. I let him have a 1000 for $35 -the price I had paid when I bought them. I did the same for someone needing .22 earlier this year. I could have easily made a few dollars, but it was some of the excess I had accumulated during times when prices were reasonable. As I'm not shooting as frequently as I did in the past, my supply will last until I don't need it. I didn't purchase with the idea of reselling. I just didn't want to ever be caught short of what I need.

  26. I know a few who do that, the guy you got your dog from and a couple others. Its a business for him and a hobby for the others. They make some cash as they have fairly high rent dogs, registered dogs. The puppies go for 2-3x what you paid. They also have kids to help with the work. It'll occupy nearly all your time for 8 weeks. Mallagators can be difficult to home. Not everyone has the time, place, or disposition to deal with one. Without papers, I think youd be hard pressed to make much money.

  27. I have some more. That's just the Minimags in the plastic tub. That 22 shortage after Sandy Hook lasted forever. I'll never run out of 5.56 either, unless Old Joe lets me slap some fun parts in a few of my AR's.

  28. I haven't seen a RIA on the shelf in quite awhile. Most of the models I'd be interested in purchasing have become difficult to find lately. I did get a laugh when I saw a used Raven in a counter with a price over ten times the new price of $15 or 2 for $25.

  29. Now we just need to get them to remove the force of law from a no-gun sign (Presently Class B misdemeanor, fine only). The result would be it's not inherently unlawful to carry past a no-gun sign into a private business, but if they see it and ask you to leave, you must or the force of law applies at that point (trespass). If this was signed on the 8th, when does it take effect?

  33. For those that can't read it, here's a snippet: Death Valley National Park located the couple’s missing white Subaru off Gold Valley Road. A note on the vehicle read, “Two flat tires, headed to Mormon Point, have three days’ worth of water.” The note provided vital information to help locate the couple in their remote location. The Inyo Search and Rescue technical team spotted the couple through aerial reconnaissance of the incredibly remote area, according to the release. The team attempted a hoist operation, but the extreme location meant the two team members who rappelled were unable to reach the couple. Another operation will begin Thursday evening with an Inyo Search and Rescue team descending into the canyon. NEWS FLASH! In an emergency, one can drive a car with flat tires. Better to replace two tires & two rims later & get to safety, than to abandon your vehicle in Death Valley & go hiking into no-mans-land. Their other (obvious) option was to hike 22 miles down the road they were on. At least then they could have been found more easily, or got lucky & come across another driver. It seems like they chose the highest risk, least logical option & it nearly cost them their life. Scary.

  34. leafinthewind, If you haven't figured it out yet, if you ask for opinions on this board, you will get 'em. We got quite a few very opinionated, grumpy old farts (including me) that will tell you exactly what they think. Not all these opinions will be what you want or expect. Actually, I don't personally know anybody who has done this. I sure haven't. But I guess I'm one of those evil hoarders as I've made it a practice to keep a good stock of ammo and components on hand for many years now. I actually have plenty to ride out the shortage. However, I'm not trying to sell it to the unprepared at scalper prices either. No offense, but I suggest you grow yourself some thicker skin.

  40. For the sake of expediency, let's just agree to substitute the word Reforms with the word Mitigations any time that Leftists promote something as a good idea. Supreme Court Reforms? Negative, Ghostrider. Those are Supreme Court mitigations. I sure am glad that Uncle Joe saved us all from COVID-19, though. Without him we'd probably be in... well... exactly the same place we are right now. Hey, work with me, folks. I'm trying to support the Party the best I can. They just aren't giving me much to work with.

  41. These people can keep their high priced primers, I am well stocked for my hunting needs, I can hunt every day of the season for my entire lifetime and still not run out, now plinking, those I will resort to, as they taught me in SERE school, going ugly early. I have started using the DIY methods and damn if they don't work, match heads, and toy caps actually fire my 9mm rounds just fine and I am sure the rest as well. I have also downloaded a few recipes for DIY primer compounds which don't really look that hard to do. I have no plans on becoming a source, but if this continues some enterprising soul will, and you will see more and more sources of primers pop up, though I am sure the price will still reflect the demand, just not what the commercial ones do.
