  1. If you're willing to murder someone then a lifelong OOP is useless. OOP's are violated on a daily basis in this country. If he were to die from an acute case of lead poisoning after coming near you then I wouldn't convict you if I were on the jury. He's clearly a threat to you.

  3. Thought about just using a fire pit from the local big box store? They’re generally big enough for months of household mail - and they’ve generally got screen covers that will keep your flaming bank statement from taking flight and burning down the neighborhood.

  5. SOLD Selling this 1993 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade 7MM Rem Mag out of the custom shop in New Haven Ct. Gorgeous wood, nearly perfect condition except for one scratch across the trigger guard as pictured. perfect bore. Includes Leopold rings and a vintage Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x50 scope. Comes with Winchester Letter. One problem it has: very front scope mount screw hole seems to be stripped out...will need gunsmith to re-tap to be perfect. It has jeweled bolt & follower, inletted swivel studs, and beautiful bluing.

  6. Typically, it's not reloaders. It's people that know there is a shortage so they buy everything they can get their hands on, then turn around and post them for sale with a "slight" mark up. Personally, I wish everyone would refuse to buy from those people and they would be stuck with all the crap they bought.

  18. Got an Email from Apps Training that they are opening a new gun shop at 2611 Lebanon Pk. This would put it across from Green Police Supply/Shpeley Donuts. Looks like it may also be a range. Guess with Buford gone and Const. Carry they are branching out,did not get any other info on it. This is Donalson but GPS is Nashville. Will check it out next week.

Might be because I’m looking at it on a phone. I dunno. Might be descendants of the Adams family. Or the family from Wrong Turn.

  24. Wow. That’s a lot of $$$ sitting there. That took some time to put together. I wouldn’t want to have to feed all those right now. However, with that kind of collection, I bet they have more ammo stored than any gun shop at the moment.

  25. @GarufaThis has been a major headache but I'm watching JMS gutters install the new ones. I ended up calling 5 companies but only getting 3 quotes. JMS Gutters- $2,140 to get new 5" gutters, guards, and drip edge. My roof was missing any drip edge so this was important to add. East TN Continuous Guttering- $3,150 for same as above except they do 6" gutters. Daniel Hood Roofing- a shocking $4,700 for same as East TN guttering. Joe's Custom gutters. Never showed up for their appointment here to give me a quote and never called me back. Knoxville Gutter Solution-Same as Joe's. Never showed up. Hopefully this info helps you when you eventually go to replace yours. For reference, I have around 130 ft of gutters and 100ft of downspouts. We went with black gutters instead of white.

  31. If you can’t bring yourself to pay USGI prices, and just want something to shoot, you might consider the new Kahr / Auto Ordnance or a used Plainfield. Universal carbines run the gamut from OK to junk. The earlier models are better when they were still using lots of surplus parts. I’d avoid the later ones, mostly identifiable by the cutout on the operating rod. I personally avoid all of the Universal guns on principle but times being what they are, I might reconsider if I came across one cheap enough.

  32. Some will say I'm being foolish...but I don't care. I know there are lovers of all God's wonderful creations here, and though it may be too late; I ask for a small prayer for the life of my very best friend and companion of 12 years...Molly. She's been having a few problems lately, and I won't go into them now. Let's just say we've devoted a lot of time and funds on her over the years, and I fear that her release from all this is near. It's been rough on her with injuries before. But the little trooper has never whined or cried out from her pain. Always a bright eye and a wagging tail for me at every moment. Well that's changed today. Molly hasn't moved unless absolutely forced to and has refused all forms of food, water, even her favorite...Greenies. That in and of itself doesn't sound all that bad, but coupled with the things I'm not saying...I'm extremely worried and fearful this afternoon. So if you could spare a moment for a prayer for her. Thank you brothers.

  33. As I read all these comments and wishes and prayers offered, I am reminded once again why I spend so much time here. So many very good people! I thank you one and all for your prayers. Now to update the situation. Molly is much better, not perfect; but gaining a little strength everyday. Has begun to eat a bit more and is drinking water well. The lasting concern is her weight loss. Has been a solid 36/39 pounds for the last 5/6 years. She has dropped to 32 in the last few weeks. Fears of the C word and some elevated liver enzymes are here. I refuse to be pessimistic. But I understand her age and condition. Whatever comes our way, I know such a beautiful and loving spirit as she has will be waiting for us if she leaves before us to join her other friends gone before. God does not give such gifts as these to simply remove them forever from us. So again brothers...we thank you for all the prayers and beautiful messages. I will keep information coming as I get something to tell.

  38. Thanking God and you all for prayers! We see some improvement this morning. Molly has actually stood and walked out to potty. Drank some water nibbled on a few chopped bits a greenie. Not much, but first in 24 hours. Not saying all is perfect, but Molly is much better this morning.

  39. This. I’ve carried lots of small 9mm options and the Hellcat is by far my favorite. It’s shocking that you can get 12+ rounds in a firearm this small. Accuracy is great for its size and disappears completely with appendix carry. My buddy carries his in front pocket.

  43. The great thing about Tennessee, there’s lots and lots of water. Just make sure you’re not in the city limits anywhere, most cities frown on shooting, Mount Juliet has an ordinance no projectiles of any kind, BB gun, slingshot, arrow, firearm. However I have been told that there’s a judge in Lebanon that will give you a letter so you can hunt in Mount Juliet city limits.

  45. I've got a 1967 vintage 10/22, serial # 103xxx with the original Mannlicher stock. It will run BX-25 and other clone magazines but using anything but the 10-round mags feels like sacrilege with that rifle.

  46. The older 10/22 rifles had a push button for the mag release. Newer rifles all have a lever for the mag release. You can get varying lengths and designs for the mag release. Any 10/22 mag should fit and work in all generations of 10/22. The only exception that I'm aware of is the Thompson Center T/CR22 (10/22 clone) mags which incorporate a last round hold open when using the T/CR22 receiver. The T/CR22 can use standard 10/22 mags without the last round hold open. I've found that the 10-round Ruger mags to be the most reliable. I have a few BX-25 mags and they have been hit and miss. Surprisingly, the GSG 110-round mags have worked well for me if I load them to 100-rounds and take care to load them correctly. One of the most interesting 10/22 mags is from HC Mags. I have a couple of their HC3R Tac Packs (Gen 2) on order that should be here mid to late February: https://store1.hcmags.com/products/hc3r-tac-pac-gen-ii.html The stripper-clips allow you to load (and reload) an extended mag quickly. This way the spring in the mag doesn't loose tension by leaving it loaded all of the time. There is a plethora of options and accessories when it comes to 10/22 platform. It all depends on what you want to achieve and how much you willing to spend. I have several 10/22s that the only stock Ruger item on them is the 10-round Ruger mag. If you are going for precision, it's not hard to drop a couple of grand into a 10/22. If you just wanting a good plinker, you don't have to spend a lot. I do recommend either some trigger work or a drop in replacement. While they are far from cheap, I'm a big fan of the Kidd triggers. Another good (and less expensive) option on triggers is to send your existing trigger to Brimstone: http://brimstonegunsmithing.com/ Of course, you can always just learn to to do the trigger work yourself. The one thing I definitely would do to any stock Ruger 10/22 is install an auto bolt release. Rather than having to fiddle with the bolt lock to release the bolt, the auto bolt release allow you to slightly pull back on the charging handle and let go. It's well worth the small amount the part costs. Example (without shopping around) that I've used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R11VMDP/ Rather than buying the part, you can do a modification yourself: If you will provide an idea of how you plan to use the 10/22 or any goals you want to achieve (precision, defensive use, etc.) I can provide more suggestions.
