  2. I picked up an Italian Police turned in Beretta 92S last year from Fasteddie. it shoots great, but being a service pistol, the frame was a little beat up. Also, I never really cared for the glossy black finish. Since I was already planning to cerakote an AR, and I had the Graphite Black, I did the lower frame. I think it turned out great. it needs new grips. And I will post again once they come in. I may go back and strip the slide and kote it at some point. Before After

  6. Thought about just using a fire pit from the local big box store? They’re generally big enough for months of household mail - and they’ve generally got screen covers that will keep your flaming bank statement from taking flight and burning down the neighborhood.

  9. If you gave the law enforcement agency the serial numbers to all stolen firearms they should have been entered stolen into NCIC. If any law enforcement run the number it would show stolen, the agency that entered it, and some other minor information. If you have a copy of your report make sure the serial numbers on the report also see if it says they were entered. As a detective the first thing I do with a case like this is check to ensure the reporting officers had the serial numbered entered into NCIC. Most times they do but there are times it doesn't happen and I have to make sure it gets done.

  13. I have never trapped and have no desire to start. I would however be fine with hunting coyote and bobcat on a more regular basis. I just wish decent quality thermal optics were not so expensive. I just can't justify the cost. Night hunts would be far more successful and enjoyable.

  14. MODERATORS: I have a 1911 that was stolen years ago, that has great sentimental value. I posted it on stolengunz and got a hit on it but metro PD detective was flat out lazy and didnt pursue it. Do we have a stolen guns topic on here? Do you think we could/should?

  16. 38/357 has always been my go too EDC. Others are as good, but my choice is the 357 for self defense. I have several 9 MM and 40's but always gravitate to my 7 shooter. It will be making the trip with me out West come Saturday morning. Only 2 states, California and Oregon, that does not recognize my CCP. I will be forced to put my "Roscoe" in the under seat gun vault and lock it away in those two states unloaded. Will also be taking a residence pistol and keep it in my RV. I have a lockable gun vault in it also. Probably take my 9MM M P 2.0 C.

  18. How was he not convicted of First Degree Murder, to begin with? Should be in prison for the rest of his life. But I agree, these letters, by themselves are threat enough, to warrant any time off for good behavior. TDOC needs to step up and do their job. This guy should serve the rest of his sentence...

  25. If you want to start learning, go to www.nashbee.org. That is the site for NABA (Nashville Area Beekeepers Association). There is a lot of information on the site. They have monthly meetings with speakers on different topics that usually align with what is happening with one’s hives at that time. It has been virtual since last March but the July meeting might be the first back to in-person.

  27. Typically, it's not reloaders. It's people that know there is a shortage so they buy everything they can get their hands on, then turn around and post them for sale with a "slight" mark up. Personally, I wish everyone would refuse to buy from those people and they would be stuck with all the crap they bought.

  29. If you're willing to murder someone then a lifelong OOP is useless. OOP's are violated on a daily basis in this country. If he were to die from an acute case of lead poisoning after coming near you then I wouldn't convict you if I were on the jury. He's clearly a threat to you.

  31. I looked at a Sig P365 and then decided on a S&W Shield Plus. It just fit my hand better and the trigger is really great!. My wife took mine to the range today and ended up buying another one for herself. YMMV. It is all about what works for the shooter (not the person at the keyboard).

  34. In answer to your question about why he was not convicted for 1st degree murder. It was a bench trial (Judge only), no jury. The murderer got to choose that. Liberal Davidson County Judge Seth Norman heard this case. Mental health experts were brought in for both the defense and prosecution. Both testified they believe he has delusional disorder. The defense mental health expert testified she did not believe he was capable of premeditation. The prosecution's expert didn't push back very hard and basically left it up to the Judge to decide if that is true based on the evidence. Here was just some of the evidence. This man had actually gone downtown first, looking for us that night. When he couldn’t find us, he asked acquaintances where he could find us and he got directions to the restaurant. These acquaintances at multiple karaoke venues downtown noticed that when he left, he hadn’t drank any of his beer. The beer bottle he left at each place was still full. I think it’s clear he was there specifically waiting for us. He wasn’t there to have a few beers and a good time. He then drove 30 minutes that night to where we were. I had never seen him at this venue before. I was concerned he was stalking me when I noticed him there. I discreetly asked management to remove him and let them know he was stalking me. When they approached him and asked him to leave, he was looking around the room (I assume he was looking for me but I was beside a brick wall, where I could see him but he had no clue where I was), he then shot Ben 7 times. When the police searched his vehicle at the crime scene, they found 2 more guns, ammunition, a baseball bat, binoculars, gloves rope and a knife. Police made note that my stalker made a number of physical preparations that very day. He purchased the shoulder holster, binoculars and baseball bat that day. The Judge dropped it from 1st degree to 2nd degree despite that kind of evidence. That Judge is well into his 80's now and retired. He has left me facing an incredibly dangerous situation in my future.
