  2. I wanted to build a Shughart M-14 because if you’re gonna have one, it might as well be one modeled off the one used by one of the baddest men to wield it. I started with this M-14 clone from Bula Defense. Mounted an ARMS-18 optics rail and an Aimpoint CompM. I then acquired a surplus M-14 fiberglass stock. The army boys sure do love their duct tape. Once I got it stripped down, it was time to paint! As it sits now, it’s in what I refer to as the “movie configuration” ad it’s similar to what was used in the Black Hawk Down film. The CompM will end up coming off and being used on a retro AR build using the original hi-rise optic mount (carry handle gang gang). As of now there are a couple of bits that are either on the way, or requiring a little detailed work to mount. (Waiting on rings for my Aimpoint 5000 and the AIM-1/D needs a tape switch fabricated for it.) Updates to follow as the build is adjusted/completed.

  9. You are not the only one. It would appear there are two of us. You eat an elephant one bite at a time. I expect TFA sees this as a good way to raise funds as much as anything. I am, however, pleased with the TFA for getting this done. I would encourage any Tennessee gun enthusiast who isn’t a member to join.

  11. Hello. My guy at Knox Tactical has retired and moved to Colorado. So I'm looking for someone to install a set of Meprolights in the CZ 75 P01 that I recently purchased from another member. Thanks for any help if anyone knows someone good around Knoxville or surrounding areas.

  12. Pretty sure our whole family had it for about week and a half. I was pretty down with it. Chest and head congestion. Ended up with sinus infection. Of course clinic did the Rona test and of course it was negative. Kids and adults both had pretty significant symptoms

  13. On a probably unrelated note, I’m hearing several reports locally of an outbreak of RSV. I thought that mainly affected small children, but these are pretty much all adults. Weird times.

  14. Biden to require all federal workers (and contractors) be vaccinated or tested weekly. Start paying $100 to everybody else to get inoculated. Things are getting real interesting. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-federal-workers-vaccines

  15. When I was a kid, I had one of the Man From Uncle toy pistols with the rifle accessories. It used a separate metal magazine that you loaded a roll of caps into and them inserted it into the gun like the real thing.

  23. You are not far off. My wife did some strange things when she was on it. She is not a big fan of feet. When she was on ambien she would get up at night and give me foot massages while Clipping my toenails. She would not remember a thing and swore that I was lying until I filmed her one night. She stopped taking it not long after. Ambien is a weird drug.

  29. I know growing up we raised more than we could eat with next to no upkeep. We have cucumber and watermelon close. Does it bother those? I had something bore into my ornamental pumpkins last year. One day good, next full of tiny holes. Did not seem to mess with the vines though.

  30. The squash borer... one day they look fine, then they turn yellow and die in a day or two. Usually takes asparagus several years to yield enough to make meal.

  31. I ended up with a lot of old 22short, 22LR and some 22Long from my father in law. I don’t know if they are still good, but the boxes are cool. Remington, Western, Peter’s and Sears and Roebuck I just wish his 22LR revolver and old Marlin 22 Rifle hadn’t been stolen some years ago.

  32. A neat project you have there! When I turned 18 in the summer of 1977, an M1A would be my very first 4473 purchase. That first year introduction price was $379. Spare mags in new millitary foil wrappers were $2.50 a pop at Numrich and everything to fill that hole above the trigger was about another 14 bucks. You just needed a horse shoe extension hanging down from the receiver. Ha..ha, don't ask me how I know. I had alot of fun with that rifle back then. It was SN 006022. Problem was it would group poorly after getting warm. National matching the bedding points was not a easy job and would need a do over every so often. Back in the mid 80's I sold it to fund a Springfield SAR48. The FAL is more heat friendly for poking close holes. Good Luck with your retro.

  33. For a simple pocket gun, the original LCP is hard to beat. Essentially dehorned with reasonable rounds makes it lighter. All of these high round capacity guns make my pants sag

  34. Am I the only one that feels like some are making the permitless carry law out to be worse than it is? I know it's not perfect but it still seems like a huge step in the right direction. I am hopeful they clean it up in the future.

  35. I strongly suspect that were his antics continuing, even the half-assed permitless carry we now have would not have gotten through.

  37. There are many people in this country that carry guns anywhere they want everyday and are not restricted at all by what the gun laws are. They probably number in the millions. They also commit armed robbery, murder, rape, sell drugs, rob banks, burglarize homes, jack cars and trucks, commit home invasions and such like. They will continue to carry guns anywhere they want everyday and will not be restricted at all by what the gun laws are. They probably number in the millions.
