  3. Sad. He was a good man. Didn't care for some things he had said in the last few years, but overall seemed a true partiot who worked for the betterment of his country. My condolences for his family.

  6. Halfway off topic, but close. Growing up in Chattanooga, ours was a two-story house next to a rental house that was a slum. As long as people lived there, the huge rats that infested the house stayed in the rental house. Whenever the house went vacant, the rats came to our house. At the ripe old age of 12, I figured out a solution. I'd open the second story window in the kitchen, and fry a thick piece of bacon and throw it out into the driveway. Then I'd put a .22 Short in the top barrel of my Savage .22/.401 o/u and wait. In a few minutes a rat would come out of the house to "dine." I'd let one start to chow, and then, "POW!" Largest one day take was 28. That house next door remained more fun in the future when it was empty!

  8. I grew up in Chattanooga too. I dispatched many a squirrel off mom's bird feeders with .22 shorts.

  9. Story had it that Powell was the one that stopped the 101st Airborne from advancing on into Bagdad after Saddam when they were in striking distance. Stupid move. You know what happened later. We went back again after Saddam & his weapons of mass destruction.

  10. I agree. I read his book and it was obvious he was a little bit more political while in the Army, but still, a good man.

  11. I, for one, am not a fan at all of all this. There's nothing wrong with staying small towns and rural. our great state is being ruined, and our politicians are doing all they can to hasten making our state like the the others. Really sad.

  12. Seems like a negative test from both would suffice, getting the shot just potentially makes them MORE dangerous than not having any CCP virus components. IMO The medical community has gone nuts, treating people worse than animals: https://rumble.com/vnnqc9

  19. Not been to Murfreesboro or Cookeville lately? Jeez, it's like they've been GIVING away houses there. If you guys think Knoxville is behind in infrastructure, take a drive though downtown Nashville or Chattanooga sometime. Both have only three lanes of interstate running each way through their downtown areas. Both are extremely complicated by the numerous uses of bridges, which would require replacing when the interstate adds lanes. I'd bet that'd be a 10 year project in either city. TN is restricted from borrowing money for road projects, which is a good thing, IMO. But it's a bit past critical & quickly advancing upon emergency, IMO.

  20. I know there's a lot of people that live & breathe this kinda stuff, but I've never been into hero worship. I like John Wayne, watch his movies many times, but wouldn't pay that kind of money ( even if I had it ), for something he owned. Never made sense to me to stand in line for something with their signature on it, unless it's a good check. To each his/her own, but count me out. JMHO

  27. Should have kept the one I bought earlier this summer! LOL! Found it. Bought it. Sold it to a friend without firing it. Big regrets now.

  28. Wow. You haven't found one since May? ;-< I'm not selling mine but when you do get one make sure you buy an american speedloader. I'm cheap and they are a little pricey but so worth it for the CP and PMR. Good luck in your search.

  30. Went to the range Saturday and shot a few of my guns that I'd not shot yet. Both of my S&W Victory .22s shoot beautifully, with no issues. Also shot my Glock 45 for the first time. Ran 50 rounds though it flawlessly. I can see why everyone likes this gun.

  32. You're right. Powder back then was $10 pound. I used to buy all my primers off of Hi'Tech. Last time I bought they were $125/5000! I sold a bunch of cleaning rod sets. I sold the rods and handle for the Garand/Carbine for $5.00 set. Same on the .50 cal. Sold the old M16 sets for $10 set. People bought parts like crazy. Most I've ever sold there.

  33. I can name off almost a dozen instances of other SEC as well as non-SEC crowds whom became obnoxious. GA fans got tear gassed one year when they beat Florida. Tear gassed at a football game! UT fans tell story after story of having beer thrown or poured on them in Gainsville. Fulmer's wife & kids had to go get security one year when they became harassed beyond the normal. Even Vandy has been guilty of throwing things onto the field of play, resulting in fines to the school. It cost them a win against Florida one year when CM Newton was coach. Yes, it was a classless act on the fans part. But UT is by no means alone in this behavior, nor can I recall them doing this in the past. Not sure how you arrive at "as usual" in your comment. I also note Pred fans got into a fight with Seattle fans last week in Nashville at a hockey game. Classless Pred fans "as usual" there too?

  38. I had a similar issue with some ammo I purchased at a show some time ago. It was being sold as new, brand name stuff. Turned out to be reloads in a brand name box. I suspected it was reloaded as soon as I opened the box. Which is what I should have done at the time of purchase. Now I open the box whenever making a purchase from an individual.
