  1. I’m going to pause this one for a minute - mainly because I’ve got other things I want to think about over the next few days.

  2. I'm going to openly and very publicly ask @TGO Davidor @MacGyveror @Chucktshoesor @TripleGGGgo ahead and consider plugging this thread. We all know where it's heading and the last thing anyone needs in a time to be thankful for what we DO have is this BS. Happy Thanksgiving

  3. That's not a racist remark, it's a slight against the media and their proclivity to push a narrative. All white people are all evil racist. Anything bad a person of color does is because of the evil white man. Anything good a person of color does is in spite of the evil white man. That is in fact racist to all parties involved. We are all capable of evil. It shouldn't be sugar coated or covered differently just because of one's race. Kyle was called a white supremacist by the government and media all the way up to the president without a shred of evidence. If you even hint that about the Christmas parade driver, you'll be labeled a white supremacist even if you're black.

  4. And it's that easy for bad decisions to get you killed.... Once you go inside the house STAY INSIDE the house and call the cops. Don't go back outside armed and confront them. This is tragic but completely preventable.

  5. Worth it? From a monetary stand point absolutely not. My health insurance covered my medical bills. No idea who covered theres but I never heard anything about it. My car insurance didnt pay out anything, I had liability only and since I intentionally used the truck as a battering ram it did not rule it is an accident. Their car insurance company sent me and my insurance a letter demanding payment, but I simply sent them the police report and they magically decided I wasnt liable for any damages due to the wreck happening while their client was in commission of a crime. I did not get charged with any crimes, using the vehicle as a blocking maneuver the first time was not seen as criminal since they had just committed armed robbery, and ramming them the second time was justified self defense since they had fired shots at me. I did go to court as state witness multiple times and they are both currently serving 10 years each for a list of felonies and misdemeanors for which they were found guilty. At the end of the day, the decision to try and stop them was rash and impulsive and cost me far more than the $500 Glock. But its hard for me to say it wasnt worth it totally because those two scumbags will never forget that, and at least for the next few years they will be in prison instead of free to continue ripping people off. At the end of the day, if i could do it over I would just call 911 and at the most, try to keep up to get a tag number. But events like this happen in seconds and at least partly because the Marine Corps has engrained me to do something, anything when the #### hits the fan I reacted purely on instinct and did what I thought was best at the time.

  6. Kyle did another interview with Ashleigh Banfield last night. I only saw a few clips but it was interesting. I didn't know why he fired his first lawyers. They sound like trash. He realizes they were trying to use him as a political pawn. He has zero interest in any of the Congressional internships being offered to him. I hope he's able to find a sense of normalcy. Clips here. https://www.newsnationnow.com/banfield/kyle-rittenhouse-blames-former-lawyers-for-proud-boys-photo/ Full transcript here. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/banfield-rittenhouse-the-full-interview-and-transcript/amp/

  7. My family is here for Thanksgiving and my grandson (13) and granddaughter (11) wanted to get my squirrel rifle out for some target practice. We took the Marlin/w Leupold scope out, and went to the back yard range. They started shooting at hanging steel then graduated to hedge apples. They liked to see them explode after hitting them. I am shocked how good they can shoot. Their mother is a natural shot and they take after her. We were shooting the apples and steel from about 50 ft. Their mother backed away to 75' and busted 3 apples out of 3 off-hand. She has always been a crack shot with any gun. She has asked for my Henry Big Boy 38/357 lever gun when I am through with it. Told her she could have it, but not right now. It is hers and my favorite long gun. I ain't through with it yet. We plan to get the bigger stuff out Friday. They can shoot up a wad of ammo if I allow them. We shot a 3rd of a box of 555 22LR this morning. Gave the neighbors something to think about. We waited until 10:30 to begin, out of respect. Their gone horseback riding now. OH, rest for the weary. We are blessed to have them all week. Love it. Going to give my Father's Remington Mdl 11 48 16 Ga semi auto shotgun, along with a new in the box Remington 1911 A1, when we go down to visit them in February L/w. I think Parker will treasure his great grandfather's old shotgun. I will say he is showing some hormones this season. Puberty, do you guys remember? Kinda a rough time for young men, best I recollect. Their both good kids. Just fun memories, guys.

  8. I am not an attorney, but as I understand it in Georgia, there were four underlying felonies committed against Arbery. Each contributed to and resulted in his murder. As such, each of those charges resulted in an additional murder charge. Two counts of aggravated assault, one of false imprisonment, and one of attempt to commit false imprisonment. Each of those four had a murder count added for a total of eight. The ninth malice murder charge does not require some other felony charge. https://apnews.com/article/ahmaud-arbery-trial-travis-mcmichael-georgia-7558b86305d4c95d8e830b16bf19eeff

  9. When 30% of people (due to the mainstream media's adversarial reporting of the case ) think that the people Kyle shot were black ,I don't know that it matters who his first interview is with. There is truth and there is lie and the people who still care about the former are vastly outnumbered in the media by those who use the latter to push their leftist agenda. This is one of the most well documented (on video none the less) shootings in history and anyone who takes the time to objectively and honestly look at the evidence will conclude this was self defense. Yet here we are discussing whether who he did an interview with looks bad for him. The facts are the facts . Dude was not doing anything illegal when he went to the car lot with the rest of the group that the car dealership owners hired to keep it from getting burned to the ground and keep the cars from getting smashed. He was not "illegally carrying a rifle" , the fact that he "crossed state lines" is not only irrelevant, it is not ILLEGAL and not even illegal to do it with a semi auto rifle , it just "sounds bad" to the uneducated , so again, nothing he has done so far is illegal. When Kyle and almost everyone else on the street is threatened by a convicted child RAPIST who spent 15 years in prison (who ANALLY RAPED 5 different 9-11 year old boys while he lived with them) Kyle did not "provoke" a confrontation he avoided it until the child rapist tried to chase him down and take his rifle for which the child rapist got shot. Self defense by definition. Kyle then heads back to where the cops are stationed down the street so he can turn himself in..... So when word gets out that the kid shot one of the other protesters ( more truthfully rioters and looters, ) the chase is on, and people are running after him. It does not matter what their motivation is ( to save the day, stop the "bad guy" , murder, whatever) when they start physically attacking him , kicking him in head with shod foot, hitting him with a skateboard (aggravated assault at the least ) he has the right to defend himself from their unlawful (even if they thought it was lawful) attack. So Huber (the convicted domestic batterer) hits him with the skateboard (lethal force) and then grabs the muzzle of the rifle (lethal force) and gets shot. Self defense by definition. Then Grosskruetz (the guy who actually IS ILLEGALLY carrying a gun because he was a carrying concealed without a valid permit) runs up on Rittenhouse with gun drawn and when he points it at Kyle he gets shot . Self defense by definition. However that's not at all how the mainstream media have portrayed this case. According to them he "is a white supremacist who crossed state lines with a short barreled rifle and came there to shoot protesters" and all that crap. The media is either completely incompetent (unlikely ) or pushing a leftist agenda (ding ding ding!) and outright LYING about what happened to gin up sentiment against a kid who was trying to do something positive for the community where he works and where his dad lives. He was there guarding a business that had been looted and had inventory (cars) destroyed and he also was there attempting to render medical aid to people who needed it. Yeah he sounds terrible.

  10. Unfortunately, I fear his poor decision to appear first on Tucker Carlson's show will work against his effort to get people to view his actions and his trial in a more objective light. Carlson is unhinged from reality and taints everyone he contacts. He's a commentator, not a journalist. There are genuine journalists that this kid could have selected to do his first post-trial interview and treat him fairly. I wish he'd done that.

  11. The only relevance to this creeps race being black is that the media will not hype the story. It's very obvious when something horrible like this happens and it "happens" to be a non- white there is a delay in info and negative speculation that is not afforded a white person. Why? Pushing stories where White Supremacist radicals kill people is working very well to divide this country. Facts be dammed, the ends justify the means...When we are divided we are easy to control. If the media was honest and treated all equal in their reporting we wouldn't be so close to losing the rights we have left in this Country. But diminished rights seems to be on their agenda. Especially the 2nd A.

  12. Two trials…one for the driver, and another one for the last judge who let him back out on the street. Is there no accountability whatsoever for judges? It would seem that today, police are largely peeing in the ocean when they try to do their job.

  14. It matters to people who watch interview shows to help form their opinions. No one watches Tucker Carlson or Rachel Maddow to find out what happened; they watch to confirm their biases and to validate their views that people on the other side of the political spectrum are stupid, incompetent, and/or immoral. Carlson and Maddow are both happy to deliver that kind of bigotry. An interview by a respected news outlet would garner more viewership from people whose minds weren't already made up and wanted to hear Rittenhouse interviewed by a journalist and not an advocate. Does appearing first on Carlson's show harm Rittenhouse much in the long run? Probably not. But it was a missed opportunity by Rittenhouse to make a positive impression on members of the public who were still undecided.

  17. This is related to the way murder charges are handled under Georgia law and the fact that although there was only one murder, there were multiple defendants and multiple crimes (assault, false imprisonment) that led to the murder. Do a search for Georgia homicide laws and you'll find much to read there. EDITED: Garufa explained it in better detail while I was posting this.

  18. It’s funny how I was thinking the other day about some folks I haven’t seen on in a while. I remember years back taking part in the Bowie pass around you did. Took me a while to find the thread. This was a lot of fun. I took a hiatus for a while as well. Glad you made it through this and are back on!

  19. I think its a valid point. MSM relies heavily on racism. Did anybody else notice that national news coverage of the Collierville shooting quickly disappeared from MSM when it was revealed that the shooter was a POC (asian)?

  20. Eh, the article definitely paints a picture of her being the aggressor here. While I have strong feelings that pursuing someone longer than absolutely necessary to get plate information is not a good idea exactly for the reasons of the final outcome, with the information listed in the article it’s hard to see her as the victim here She hit another motorist, fled the scene, entered her home to retrieve a firearm and then re-engaged with the motorist she initially hit with her car. I’m not declaring the other parties innocent, they may very well be guilty of criminal actions and I’d be interested to see what the investigation turns up. Ultimately it looks like a lot of poor decision making from multiple people resulting in a woman’s death.

  23. @Redhansen - The gig is up! You've found me. Shooters Nation is/was a labor of love for me. I miss doing the show as much as some folks, yourself included, seem to enjoy listening to it. There honestly isn't a week that goes by that I don't think of picking right up where we left off. I'd love to, really. I am going to send this to Mark. He isn't on TGO but I wonder if he might be getting the itch to do this again too. If not, I may bring it back with some other help. Cancel Culture definitely played no small part in our decision to stop where we were. Back in 2020, when we recorded the last episode, things in the world were absolutely starting to spiral out of control. The election took a lot of already polarized people and flipped them on their heads. People I knew personally were losing their jobs or being threatened with such for things that they had said online about the election, about the "social justice" movement, about the racial riots, etc. Mostly those folks were just saying what sane people would say. Basically just "This is wrong. This is nuts. We've got to let cooler heads prevail." etc. Dangerous things, those words of ours! Anyway.... THANK YOU for this thread and your comments. They made my day. And they've got me staring at the microphone and recording equipment here at Shooters Nation HQ and thinking What would happen if I fired this up and just started running my mouth again? Who knows! We might find out sometime soon.

  29. Yes, that part of their defense strategy seemed questionable, at best. It's equally hard to argue a justifiable homicide of any sort when you chase an unarmed guy down, hold him, then kill him. I'm not a lawyer, and didn't follow the case very closely, but pretty much everything I've read about it screamed murder from the start ...

  30. I have no clue about this "FN Trigger" talk. I own a FNS 9mm and its trigger is great! Better than another other pistol I own, sans the LC9S Pro, that I have. That includes a Glock 17 with a 4 .4lb trigger. Maybe the later FNs are much worse. I don't know. I love the size and feel of the FNS. It's far superior to the M&P that everyone seems to rave about and that I truly hated enough to trade away for a Springfield XDs.

  32. I didn't take it badly or anything. I agree it could have turned out much worse. I almost widowed my wife and left my two babies that day. It was scary and violent and once the adrenaline and shock wore off my hands shook for days and I didnt sleep well for months. All things considered I got extremely lucky to survive, especially considering I hit a block wall head on at speeds in excess of 70 mph with no seatbelt on.

  34. Yes there is. I've used it many times. That's the smart way to do it. Decide what your absolute max is and bid that via auto bid. If you get beat, so be it. Walk away. I, too, have pretty much given up on GB. I've gotten some great guns there in the past. But these days the prices are high, the competition tough and now with sales taxes, its just not worth it anymore.

Need bushing, barrel nut wrench and gauges. I'll have the gauges one day because I use HS gauges but I buy the barrel bushings as needed.

  47. First time my daughter shot a handgun. She shot one of my S&W Victory 22s and also my Glock 45. I think she did awesome for her first time. She listened and applied the shooting techniques i told her. She only missed once, and that was at the smaller number 2 target area in the upper right. I reckon she stopped this bad guy!

  48. For those whom may not know, these are CZ Custom Shop guns. The triggers on these are indescribable. DA pull is in the 5lb range, SA pull is around 2lbs or so. Literally shoots one ragged hole. No clue if the seller still has the factory test target but if he does, he should post it. I've got multiples of these things, they may be the best gun being made now costing under $3k, IMO. The difference between the Accu Shadow & the Shadow 2 is a much better trigger, tighter slide-to-frame fit, barrel bushing & grips. Accuracy is better too. I've sold multiples of these & every new owner tells me later they don't shoot their other guns after shooting this one. True story. This one is priced well below current retail so someone can get a helluva deal, IMO. My .o2

  49. It could be that the victim was found outside the home. If that is the case, then it might be harder to justify the shooting. Maybe witnesses indicated that the homeowner escalated the situation. The report did not give enough info.
