  2. Figured I'd take a break on the deer hunting and take a fishing trip yesterday morning. The bite was slow dragging baits but still ended up with 7 fish in the boat by 1pm. Most the fish was eater size in the 8-12lb range but did put a 60lb and a 35lb in the boat. My buddy caught the 35lb drifting a couple rods a few feet off the bottom in the front of the boat and I was dragging two rods out the back with my dragging setup. The bait used was crappie heads and skipjack. Here's a couple pics of the 60, both the 60 and 35 was released to be caught another day. Took pics of the 35 my buddy caught but turns out the sun was right in his eyes and did not make for a good facial expression. Didn't catch it till going through the pics after we turned it back. Can't beat a big fish trip after a two month dry spell of no catfishing.

  3. Made a couple of big (for me) gun purchases lately so figure I'll throw this one out here to see if anyone wants it more than I would like to keep it. Beretta 92 Volunteer edition. I bought this gun new and it is unfired since I had it. (I assume they still factory test fire them) It has been on a display stand in my living room, handled and the slide racked maybe a dozen times since I've had it. Beautiful gun with the special grips and engraving. Plenty of info on them via the Google so won't go into the specs or details. There is a minor imperfection near the takedown lever. Tried to get a picture of it the best I could. Not sure what it is but was there from the factory. (4th picture) Feel free to PM me with any questions. $1,000 takes her home. SPM on 2/4

  4. I have lost enough weight that I can now wear an IWB holster in front of my strong side hip, comfortably at the 1:00 to 2:00 "o clock" position, and draw it easily. Lost a lot of my spare tire. And guys that is a good thing for me. Am planning to wear it to church WED night to see how sitting for a period of time feels, then if that works out will need to practice the draw stork now to ingrain the feel in my memory with my new presentation. Previously been wearing my SW 9 MM EZ at the 4:00 just behind the strong side hip. Snub in my strong side pocket, however, will move it to my weak side pocket. I have gone from 295 to 221 in the past year and half. My last A1C was 6.0. Who Hoo! Dropped 4 paint sizes. Hope I can hold it off. Lost my appetite. Let you know how things work out.

  5. I ended up with a Browning 1886 SRC. I thought i really wanted the 95, but you (i think it was you) were correct and the 1886 handles better. The 95 is also fancier than what im comfortable with in the woods while the browning src has a tiny bit if wear that makes it fit like a broken in boot.

On the evening of Feb 4th (5-9PM) and all day Feb 5 (8:30AM-11PM) at THE RIDGE in Dayton TN Randy Harris and John Hearne will be offering Saving Your Life with a Pistol - What Matters , What Doesn't . https://www.eventbrite.com/e/harris-hearne-saving-your-life-with-a-pistol-what-matters-what-doesnt-tickets-227733044667 This is a class combining John Hearne’s epic research and lecture on "Who Wins, Who Loses, & Why: Understanding Human Performance When Death Is On The Line." with elements of Randy Harris’s “Primary Skills for the Armed Citizen” and “Defensive Concepts for Low Light Environments”. The class structure will be half of John’s lecture on Friday night from 5 - 9PM. Saturday will begin at 8:30AM with range work until we break for lunch and then we will continue with the rest of John’s lecture until the evening dinner break. After that we will return to the range for the low light portion of the class until 11PM. John's lecture is a broad survey of the most current research into human performance during interpersonal conflict. It is specifically tailored to the needs of those concerned with self-defense whether armed or unarmed. A strong emphasis is placed on understanding how the human mind works in order to optimize performance and increase one’s chance of dominating a violent encounter. Significant time is spent correcting previously offered, outdated information on human performance. Methods of optimizing training are addressed as well. (A binder with course relevant materials will be provided to students.) The shooting portions of the class will be focusing on the core skills of fighting with a handgun under realistic defensive shooting conditions and stress in both daylight and then in low light. These combat proven skills include solid robust manipulations that work under extreme pressure. This training will help with building realistic mental mapping and help you to learn to overcome the potential for panic and stay focused on the task at hand. 16. My dad used to say about the law and disputes in general "what's right got to do with it?" There is/was a tv show called "what would you do?" The point should be not what you think is right but what is legal. Defending oneself happens before during and after you touch your firearm. keep your wits about you, study and train. I don't want to read about any of my compatriots being prosecuted for being on the wrong end of an iffy shooting.

  19. Just come from my Pulmonologist. Had full blown breathing test. I have COPD/Asthma and have been treated for it for years now. My test results were great, and they even did the two squirts of albuterol then blow into the tube part of the test. My numbers went from 75 to 79 in 4 minutes after the 2 puffs on the buterol. Greyfox, seriously take the 2 hits on the buteroal canister before starting the walk. Test showed it helped me this morning. The tester said, if she could have waited the full 10 minutes, my numbers would have been up another 5 points, at the least, so it really helps. Guys about the only way to get the weight off is not put it into the mouth to start with. I went through a period, a year of riding bikes 50 miles per week, every week. Never lost a pound that I could say bike riding helped in weight loss. Just didn't work for me. Have a treadmill and have walked 2 miles a day, for years, except when knees would not allow. Helped with blood sugar levels, but not to loose weight. It takes less food in, better choices of healthier food (low carbs), and exercise to get it off. Then one must work to keep it off.

  21. Reminds me of George Floyd. Understand that I'm in no way excusing the actions of that cop. He was wrong and got what he deserved. But Floyd was made out to be poor innocent citizen victimized by law enforcement because of his color. Truth is that if he hadn't been high as a kite and committing a crime, the police would never have been called in the first place.

  23. The problem with this argument is that they didn't meet the probable cause requirement according to any attorney at trial, or the attorneys that I was watching comment on the case. If the probable cause requirement was met, they likely could have been acquitted. But it wasn't met.

  24. For most people the largest obstacle to maintaining a healthy weight will between their 2 ears. I've seen it go both ways for a person to be "pre diabetic". 1 gets their act together and diet straightened out and the other says F it and embraces the "betes" .

  27. I try to limit my intake but exercise allows me to consume a bit more and burn more at the same time. I enjoy eating lol.

  28. From what I've observed and my personal experience, weight loss is about 90% what/how much you eat. Exercise is good, but the table is where you drop pounds. Diabetes, etc may complicate this formula, I don't know (and don't want to learn). I've consistently run about 15 miles/week this year, but started eating stupid again a couple months ago (stupid = sub sandwiches, chips, cookies, Dr. Pepper, lots of bread). Work made do it and all that. Sure enough, I'm 10 pounds heavier. While eating stupid, I ran 15-20 miles per week (and didn't go slower), but the scales didn't care. I've been through this cycle several times and it just confirms that, for me at least, food is everything.

  29. Location is Murfreesboro off 840 and 24, priced as you come to me deals. No bill of sale, but must be 21, a Tennessee resident, and not a prohibited possessor. Not looking for trades and not looking to drive across Tennessee to sell it. Continuing to clean out the safe and get rid of stuff I’m not using. This one is duplicate-ish, so it has spent most of its life in the safe. Less than 100 rounds through barrel. Upper is a Stag factory built 16” “Tactical Nitride” lightweight barrel with an MLOK rail. BCG and CH did not come with the upper , but are included. BCG is likely Toolcraft or AIM Surplus, but it has no markings. CH is KE Arms extended. A2 flash hider. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/stag-15-tactical-nitride-upper-sku100701022-138895-253139.aspx?avad=211021_b244d589d&aid=35987&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=Avantlink&utm_content=NA&utm_campaign=35987 Lower is a KE Arms KP-15 one piece polymer receiver. These are similar to the old Cav Arms receivers, but the 2020 edition that is way better. They’re lightweight and pass every torture test with flying colors. If you follow In Range or Forgotten Weapons, this is the lower made for the WWSD (What Would Stoner Do) project. Stock is A1 length. Trigger is a Larue Tactical flat 2 stage, retailing for around $120 these days. Trigger breaks around 3.5 lbs with a crisp reset. NOW INCLUDED: Primary Arms red dot w/Daniel Defense mount. I have tons of AR parts and can add/change the package for more $- QD mounts, vertical grips, handstops, mags. $650

  32. My side gig is repairing/restoring vintage watches, primarily automatics, with a few excursions into quartz watches. The G-Shocks are great, reliable watches with a real hardcore following. This is a photo of an early 1980’s Heuer diver before Heuer, a watch company dating back to the late 1800’s, was acquired by Tag and rebranded/marketed worldwide as Tag Heuer

  33. I am not an attorney, but as I understand it in Georgia, there were four underlying felonies committed against Arbery. Each contributed to and resulted in his murder. As such, each of those charges resulted in an additional murder charge. Two counts of aggravated assault, one of false imprisonment, and one of attempt to commit false imprisonment. Each of those four had a murder count added for a total of eight. The ninth malice murder charge does not require some other felony charge. https://apnews.com/article/ahmaud-arbery-trial-travis-mcmichael-georgia-7558b86305d4c95d8e830b16bf19eeff

  34. Not as often as I should & certainly not as much as I'd like, but I do shoot a little long range target (not competition, just funzies...) with an Uberti 1885 High Wall in .45-70. Fitted with a Seoul tang sight & a Lyman globe front & shooting 510gn cast at right at 1100fps, I can regularly bang a 36" gong at 800yds. I have tried at 1000, but the cast lead nearly leaves a mark on the steel & it's almost impossible to hear (especially after several seconds of anticipation after the bang!) I always, always wanted a Shiloh Sharps until I handled one & it honestly felt awful. I tried a buddy's Browning 1885 (with the tapered barrel, far nicer handling than the Uberti's untapered number) & immediately fell in love with the feel & action. The only downside is the heavier- than- I'd- like trigger, which to my understanding is almost impossible to rectify. It ain't terrible, but at 7lb with a bit of creep, it could certainly be better.
