  1. That wasn’t a raid, that was a hit. The term raid makes the reader think they were targeting the hotel (intentional?) but reading the article, they shot the guy and just left. Classic hit.

  4. This is where I-40 enters Memphis proper. There are several cheap motels located there. Long suspected to be a popular un-loading zone for drugs entering the city and various deals by unscrupulous characters. From the description, my guess is that a planned meet turned into an ambush. Gang bangers killing each other.

  5. This Outdoorsman is a S&W 5-screw, "pre-Model 23" made in 1955 with matching serial numbers. It has an exceptional finish with slight wear. The only rust I found is a small spot on the butt near the serial number. The N-frame is, of course, capable of handling higher than standard pressure .38 Special rounds. Sorry, the original box is long gone. I'm offering it at $1200 firm to members with a valid TDL or EHCP. Knoxville area, no trades.

  6. No one but drug dealers, pimps and whores go to that place. It was definitely a hit. Even though I can’t tell by the pictures, the Draco and AR pistols are the preferred weapon of Memphis trouble makers. The second option is the Glock19 with 30 round mags. It’s tough out here. Can’t ride around with level 3 body armor on every day. When I first started trading guns I would do it in the Bass Pro parking lot because MPD had a camera there. If I’m seen over there now I’ve been taken hostage. Please call for help.

  8. Pro tip for driving to Memphis from the east if you’re not in the know: When you cross the Shelby county line go on alert but the drive from Jackson should already prepare you for that. Once you get around Wolfchase/Germantown road start clenching your sphincter. Pray, then proceed directly to Sam Cooper Blvd. Continue to raise up prayers and cuss your existence then exit as quick as you can. Go south then hang a right on the first or second major street to go west. At this point you can get to where the good stuff is, but only have to deal with 2 or 3 lanes of maniacs going in the same direction…mostly. And don’t ever stay at a hotel next to the interstate.

  11. Depends on risk tolerance and goals. Long-term, the US market is where it's at, and that's where the vast majority of my capital is parked. I just don't think we're done with the bumpy ride yet. But I've made peace with that.

  12. You may have misread and ran with a misunderstanding perhaps? The post was specific to DAY TRADING which is about working the news and momentum. Especially important with so much retail trading in the works. There wasn’t any reference that long term inflation is done or it’s cause to celebrate, simply sharing action observed and the driver which set up an upside for there short term folks aa I knew there are a few. I waited for the typical mid morning dip, and did pretty nicely on a 2 hour play. Not for everyone, especially those who think in terms of long term investment.

  13. I think it's a bit of a premature celebration, and could be a dead cat bounce kind of thing. Some of the reason inflation seems to be plateauing comes from the price points of consumer and commerce being maxed out. People can't spend more, and business can't keep a profit margin if they stay in the consumer limits. Both of those things portent a broader economic slowdown (ie: a recession) coming up on the horizon. As much as bonafied recessions can suck, we probably need one to help sort out all the shenanigans of the last decade plus. The markets need to get back to sustainable health after binging on the Fed's near zero interest rate policy for way too long.

  15. I ordered it new and have fired 20 rounds or so thru it, Handles and performed flawlessly, but, I believe would rather have the 4 inch version or the 4 inch Wilson EDC-9 or equivalent. Like new, zero damage, comes with everything from factory. Wilson Combat SFX-9 SC3, 9mm handgun with a 3.25 inch barrel, I have both the 10 round and the 15 round magazine, range bag, box and all other items from Wilson. Beautiful craftsmanship, would make a great everyday carry gun. Top trade possibilities- 4 inch version of either the Wilson Combat SFX- 9 or EDC- 9 or equivalent. Possible trades- STI, Staccato, Ed Brown, Nighthawk Or will sell for $2600, I have over 3k in it. FTF transaction with Bill of sale to TN lisc holder only

  24. Not sure I want to really sell this, but going to list it as I will probably get more use out of putting the money into a boat at the new place. It doesn't get the use it should, but I also really love this bike as an all around great bike. I won't be disappointed if it doesn't sell, but if you are in the market, would save you at least a few thousand for the same bike equally equipped. Only 519 miles. As new with a many nice addons. Comes with factory cruise, heated seats (driver and passenger), heated grips, electronic suspension adjustments for different riding modes. I guess if you are actually interested, you probably know a bit about these (or will research them well). - Barkbuster Hand Guards - 2" Rox handlebar risers for a better riding posture - Dunlop Trailmax Missions for better light off road use and still great on the pavement. The factory Metzlers will also come with it which are a 90/10 road tire. They were swapped when new, so no wear on them at all. - Slightly larger smoke Givi Windscreen is on it, but will also come with factory windscreen. - T-Rex Racing Skid plate and lower engine guards - Bumot pannier racks and locking soft cases. These are really nice because Bumot also makes hard cases that fit the same rack. These are very high quality. - Garmin Zumo XT with Evotech mount - and something I am sure I am forgetting This bike isn't cheap, but it is really setup to do just about anything you want. It's only ~500 lbs which is nice. . I have many pictures if someone is really interested.

  37. Sure, Retirement. 52 years old, 18 years of Federal Service (Army and Civilian) and counting. Seeking out a place to enjoy my pension and retirement in the next few years. No family left any longer (family had sold off the mountain properties and what not over the years). For the wife (from ranchland of Oregon) and I (mountains of Idaho), parents had passed, extended family not really close. Army burned me of deserts. All of Southern Idaho is desert. Snow. Got too old to really want to deal with snow and months of sub-zero temperatures. Playing in the snow (snowmobiles) required a 3-hour drive from the Boise valley. Crime. MS13 moved in with the Californians and brought daily gang shootings (red vs. blue) at the convience stores, drug deals over my back fence and local LE had no clue how or desire to deal with it. Home invasions, car thefts, heavy (why we live in Stewart County now) also, I feel safer driving in Nashville now than I did in the Boise Metro area. Water. Lakes there are crap, at least the lowland ones. Wanted to live near more natural water and natural green(refernce the desert comment above). Longer warm weather. We like riding motorcycles and more summer activities than winter. Had an Army buddy settle here from his time at Ft. Campbell. We visited a few times and Stewart County reminds me alot of the small county I grew up in. Property value (Don't hate me over this one becuase I know it is an evil we helped perpetuate.) We sold our urban, suburb, 1200 sq ft house on 1/8 acre that we still owed on and had enough left over to pay cash for 2 acres, 1800 sq ft, build a shop, pay off the cars, pay cash for a new bike, used boat, and stuff a bunch of money in the bank. So that's it.

  38. We actually do have state supremacy with regards to firearms laws in Tennessee. The issue with things like the metal detectors at the fairgrounds are actually a specific carve out granted in the statutes by the state. Signs carrying the force of law is something that many of us find obnoxious and have worked for a long time to change. I would strongly suggest joining and supporting the TFA as they are doing all of the heavy lifting in the fight for that change. The way the TICS system works is fairly obnoxious and I won’t argue with that. However, I will say that in the grand scheme of things, there are better places to spend political capital to make changes in the near and mid-term. The lack of public land that is open and available to shoot on is something that I always make sure that I warn people of who are considering moving here from out west. Public land just simply doesn’t exist in the manner in which it does where you are from. State parks and other public lands here generally are set up for a much higher density of usage than required for the millions upon millions of open acres that you find out west. It sucks, but it is what it is. As far as the carryi of loaded long guns, which is illegal in Tennessee unless directly connected to sporting activity, I too would like to see some change within that realm. That said, you were coming from one of the last vestiges of western culture that exist in this country, and until California started screwing everything up coming in from the West Coast, you generally had a spectrum from very urban to very not going from east to west. The cultures reflected that. The more urbanized the area, the less acceptable that sort of behavior is Not because it’s wrong, it’s just unusual in an urban setting. On that note, the greater metro Nashville area has a greater population than the entirety of the state of Idaho. It may surprise some, but even the very rule parts of Tennessee are very densely populated in comparison to much of the western states that are mostly owned by the federal government. So, I’m not trying to shut you down or tell you you were wrong. Just provide a little context from the perspective of somebody who has spent significant amounts of time out west as well as being from this area. You do bring up things that absolutely could be better. I strongly recommend supporting the Tennessee Firearms Association’s work if you would like to see progress made on those fronts.

  41. I always keep the 12 rounder in my P365 to get the extra grip length. I keep the 15 round as a spare. Hated the look of the Sig 15 round baseplate so I bought one of these, just because a gun needs to look good too. It lasted about a year or so before developing a crack, so I quit using it. Kinda surprised it lasted that long. https://tactical.dev/products/sig-p365-15-pro
