I have some exciting news. I reached a compromise with my wife. Instead of ordering a motorcycle I heard about what are essentially electric dirt bikes. 50 MPH, 60 mile range. I ordered a Talaria Sting. Pretty excited about it. Here is a stock photo for now. I'll post more once I pick it up next week.5 points

Hey Y'all, I've had the Mantis X dry fire training system for a little over a month and it has been a pretty interesting device. Works for both dry and live fire and it gives pointers on your trigger pulls, grip, etc. I got the extra version that works for ARs, Shotguns, and Bow's (no clue how it works for bows yet). I've been enjoying their product so much that I have ordered the Laser Training Academy. It is my ultimate dream to own land and have my own backyard shooting range so I can practice daily. Until then, this has been a great way for me to keep my trigger finger fresh, work on draws, and improve my overall pistol shooting while in the burbs. Highly recommend. I'll let y'all know how the laser academy goes as well.3 points

So you got a hipster motorcycle to break your neck on, lol. That actually does look pretty cool and mighty fun off-road. Is there a local dealer or do they ship and you assemble?3 points

C64 was my first and I held on to it far to long until we got a Windows 3.1 machine, might have been a somewhat early Dell. I had that thing loaded up with the tape drive, two disk drives, the Koala Pad, joysticks, more than two dozen cartridge based games and probably close to 200 on disk (most pirated). Ahh the memories. I actually wrote a program in BASIC on the C64 for my final project in a civil engineering course in college. It was for calculating compressive failure loads in concrete core/cylinder samples if I recall.3 points

No local dealer. I had to order from a company on the West coast and they ship it in a box. It's mostly assembled. I have to install the front wheel and handlebars. That would have been my preference too. I really wanted a Honda Dual sport. I'm hoping this will let me get my feet wet and once my wife sees I haven't killed myself she will ease up Having said that, I think this will be a lot of fun. The reviews are very positive. https://youtu.be/aJIN4I4tZP82 points

SOLD Selling my unfired Geissele Super Duty Pistol in Luna Black. It has Troy HK style flip up sights on it that will go with the gun. This gun has been a safe queen since I bought it with the intention of SBR'ing it but never filled paperwork and moved on to other projects. I'll let it go for $1,700. These are hard to come by lately on palmetto or Geissele direct and don't come with sights. I can meet in the greater Nashville area as I work downtown and live in Lebanon but would prefer to meet at my office which is well exposed and has ample places to do this off of Hermitage Ave. I can come to you but would request meeting in some sort of public place. Cash Only. Thanks for looking1 point

For sale is my Galil ACE in 5.45x39. It’s currently wearing a Galil SAR folding stock, RS-Regulate 10M-N MLOK forend, and a Sig MSR red dot sight. Original stock is included, as is the factory box & 3 painted mags(2 commercial Bulgarians & 1 Magpul). Rifle has around 500rds through it since new. Paint job is Aervoe camo spray paint done by the previous/original owner. I don’t have the factory forend but the collapsible stock is included, along with the tool to swap out the stocks. $2500 cash in middle Tennessee. Buyer has the option of purchasing 10 Bulgarian Circle 21/Circle 10 mags & 3680 rounds of Russian FMJ(2600 rounds of commercial/1080rds of 7n6 in a sealed tin). These are NOT for sale until the rifle sells & the buyer has first crack at the ammo/mags. $4500 for the whole package. Not interested in trades unless it’s a nice night vision or thermal setup in a comparable price/condition.1 point

As a kids we used to drop ants into the funnels, it was cool watching the ant lion use its pincers to pull the ant under.1 point

I'm curious to hear your impressions of the electric bike. So far the magazines seem pretty sold on electrics, but then there are usually full-page ads next to the review. I'm sticking with ICE, but I know that eventually electric is going to be the primary choice for most folks. Like to get on my bad motorscooter and ride, so the 125-150 mile range of an electric isn't gonna float my boat, but for a local commute.... maybe.1 point

You guys were right. The Museum of Appalachia is amazing! Everybody should make a trip to see it. I’m just thankful I never had to make my living with this.1 point

I've always been a Ford guy but I'm not blind. The early ecoboosts had a problem with plugs. They would only last around 30k miles. I'll never buy an ecoboost unless there is no other option. I have no problem with turbos but I'd rather have a v8 and throw a turbo on that. ALL THE CYLINDERS!!!!1 point

I picked up a new-to-me bike this afternoon. Drove 4-hrs each way to stinking Atlanta for a 2014 BMW S1000RR. The amazing thing is that this bike has only 340 miles on it! That's good and bad. Good as I know it's never been thrashed and the paint is perfect. Bad in that it has the original oil and fluids in it. Oil change coming as soon as I can get a filter, and then I'll flush the other fluids soon. Sold my two Ducati Superbikes, so the Beemer is more a less a trade for those two. I'm really jazzed to get the thing out on the road!1 point

They are totally evil. Will make you think about nothing but shooting with them. Will quickly drain your bank account because of 9mm ammo purchases. Initially had the m-lok forend version, but prefer the stock forend now. Wonder if a 10mm is in the offing...probably not.1 point

Last update: Just out of curiosity, last week I took the good stuff down to Accent Jewelers. They are all the time advertising about buying gold and jewelry in Memphis. The guy who looked at the stuff for me said that they pay the usual 15%, but they are honest. They offered me $699 for the whole pile. I passed as that wouldn't make a big difference in my life and I'd rather just keep it in the family. I did sell them one old small lady's watch with a gold case for $60. I thought that was pretty good considering how little it was. It didn't work anyway. Saturday I handed it all over to my DIL. She was quite tickled about it and I got a big hug. I'm happy, she's happy, It was well worth it.1 point

Good luck. Just got back last night from the Quitacue/Silverton area of Texas. Watch out for rattle snakes. They were very active the last couple of days.1 point

Several years ago I bought a Ruger Hawkeye in .257 Roberts. I wasn't able to work up a load for it the 1st year (I was still working then - this was before the China virus bit us). After working up a load, I did deer hunt with it in 2020. My current load is as follows: Neck sized Nosler brass, Rem 9½ primer, 42.0 grs. of IMR 4350 powder, and the Speer 120 gr. Grand Slam bullet. This has proven to be a good load for the deer and hogs where I hunt in North Central Texas. In 2020, it accounted for two bucks, a doe, and a couple of feral hogs. My shots are typically taken at ~80 to 165 yds., but I have shot at deer nudging 300 yds. Lately I've been thinking about working up a load using a 100-110 gr. bullet. So my question for the other .257 Roberts shooters/hunters out there - What's your favorite load (powder, bullets, etc.) and how far do you typically shoot? WYT-P Skyhunter1 point

I have the PC charger version, its fun to shoot. It will hit torso sized steel out to 100 yds with boring regularity.1 point

I hate you guys! Y'all are bad for my wallet!!! I found a 9mm takedown model (not a Backpacker) on Gun Broker, that just happened to be local. So I went lunch and looked at it. It's used and doesn't have the Glock Mag adapter ($32 from Ruger), but it's in great condition. So it's now in layaway. Also comes with a sling. Here it is. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/9457131311 point

I have the same model as TrippleGGG with a Romeo 5 red dot. I let a buddy shoot it last week and now he has to have one too. I don't own a 9mm Glock so I had to buy some mags. I got the Magpul mags that are Glock compatible and had no failures at all. Very much fun to shoot.1 point
