  1. Every one of these has come from here. Including my every first 1911 all those years ago. (The stainless Remington). I hope to add two Dan Wessons 2A's to the group by my birthday next year.

  2. I've lived in Knoxville all my life. Been to more local gun shows than I can count (Come See Kevin Costner's Guns!!). Enjoy shooting, considered getting into reloading and figured I would find a sight to chat it up with folks that like the same stuff. I've looked around for a while and figured I would make it official.

  3. Hey TGOers, *March, 3 2023: Didn't follow up on this original post much since I didn't really want to sell it, lol. Ready to give it a proper chance. Final price. Thanks!* Letting go of this nice single action 1873 clone. Basically identical to the Colt SAA down to the four click hammer cock. Just to be safe, let me repeat, this is a SINGLE ACTION so anyone looking for a modern revolver should look elsewhere, lol. Bought this off a great forum member early this year and had a ball with it all summer. Functions flawlessly, locks up tight, and disassembles like it should. Will include a few dozen rounds of 45 LC cowboy loads. Selling to help fund my next A.D.D. obsession, lol. Ftf in or around Middle TN, HCP flash required. Thanks! -V

  8. Hey TGOers! Moving on from another fun firearm. Bought this one on a whim earlier this year and have been genuinely amazed by its quality. Nice, tight action, and consistent ejection. Very light (at least compared to the 500's and 870's I'm used too). I've decided to move her out to fund another project (anyone know anything about R/C planes..? lol). Around 200 rounds through, cleaned and stored properly like always, and willing to throw in a box of shells if it helps seal the deal. I cannot find the other chokes that it came with so assume just the two in the pics. If I track the others down before selling, I'll of course throw them in. Ftf in or around Middle TN, TN DL or HCP flash preferred, $300. Thanks, -V

  9. Oh, it is know what they consider important...TV ratings and how well fan bases travel. It helps to understand when you view this as a production first, and a meritocracy second. The week to week ratings they release are just to gin up content, and interest. Putting in 2x SEC teams is usually a high bar, and one they'll use spur ratings in the regular season. This year has been fantastic for such. Bama and Tennessee taking 2 losses made a TSU or USC bid likely. If Bama had won out after the Tennessee loss and won the SEC Championship, both they and Georgia would be in. With the SEC teams really eating their own this year, the Big XII and PAC-12 have a good chance to each get a team in. Clemson's current abilities finally out-stinking their past glory facilitates this as well.

  10. I prefer the look, feel and shooting of hammer fired pistols. But new hammer guns are rare and the world is moving to striker and polymer pistols for several reasons. I enjoy shooting and buying new guns too much to stay with hammer only weapons. My favorite configuration of a da/sa, de-cocking, metal frame pistol feels like it is slowly becoming extinct.

  11. Funny you say that, because I purchased a Sig . . . and my wife took it from me because she liked it. :(.

  12. I used to carry IWB in various positions, but I have found that I can usually find a compact, tight to the body OWB holster that will work for most weapons with an an untucked shirt. The larger the gun, the more I shift the holster back on my hip to 4 or 5 o'clock. If it is something like a micro 9mm then I stay pretty close to 3 or 3:30.

  14. I think this makes the most sense to me. USC looked dominant against Notre Dame. They look like the 3rd best team to me. Alabama won the iron bowl against Auburn, but all that game did was highlight how (relatively) weak Alabama's defense seems this year. And I still believe offense sells tickets but defense wins games. 'Bama needed a more dominant performance to have a chance @ sneaking into the CFP . USC looked like the winner (comparing the two against each other.)

  15. Selling my 2010 TSX with a six speed manual. It has been a fantastic daily for the past few years. Hands down the best shifter of all the cars I have ever owned. Replaced the tires a few months ago and they have less than 2k miles on them. Power everything, heated seats and mirrors. Heater works, ac works, everything but nav and a back up camera (didn't come with those last two from factory). I was side swiped and it popped the side curtain airbag a few years ago. So rebought the car back from the insurance and had a shop replace the airbag, passenger door and fender. So unfortunately it has a rebuilt title. (Still drove it all over the place and out of state many times without issue). I do have the title on hand. 75XXX miles as I still occasionally still drive it. The rear right tpms sensor is low on battery and I'm planning on replacing it asap. Just haven't had the time. So the tpms light comes and goes randomly. Not looking for trades as I bought a manual Cadillac (Yeah, a manual cady, how could I have said no). Asking $9500 obo. The photos were too large so I had to upload them to imgur. https://imgur.com/a/7Cw52Hh

  17. As stated earlier, it’s hard to beat a Smith model 13 with a 3” barrel. 65’s are nice also, but the blue just speaks! All business, and the last FBI issued revolver, it’s hard to argue with. Beyond that, any of the L-frames, but one of the rare 7-shot 586 Smiths is a really nice revolver if you can find one. L-frame, 7 rounds, round butt and available with a 4 inch barrel. It’s a nice piece if you can stand the internal lock. And, of course, the pre-80 Pythons. Those are my top suggestions. Never had a chance to handle a Korth or Manuhrin, but I’d like to.

  19. Well ... There's a California translation if I've ever seen one. I believe it originated more from the western tradition of holster less waistband carry. Typical of the time south of the border. Not sure it's a racially charged degredation of Hispanic gangs. Using your logic, it would have been better addressed as the "Compton carry" or better yet the "Burress Tuck" And I'm an authority because much of my family is Hispanic, first generation American from Mexico.

  20. I just picked up one of their SSR models (stainless, Novack sights, ambi safety, light rail, etc) and a Ultimate Match model with hand lapped barrel, adjustable sights, ambi safety, mag well, etc.. Both are a heck of a lot of gun for the price. Here are some photos of the Ultimate model.

  22. This will be more interesting when someone finally designs a gun around this cartridge, rather than simply converting 9MM designs to chamber it. A narrower slide, narrower frame could be really significant if done correctly. Larry
