I have followed and read Massad for years. I read his book "In the Gravest Extreme" cover to cover and passed it to my lawyer friend who admitted he needed further education on such things. Massad has quite a bit on PDF, but crc4 ... thanks ... you've inspired me to order Massad's latest book. That will be done this week. I actually saw and met Massad at Bianchi Cup years ago, he was the banquet guest speaker. I always read his after action reviews "The Ayoob Files" in American Handgunner. He knows his stuff.3 points

Someone needs to invent a device you can plug into a car to pull the power out of its batteries and into your car. A high-tech siphon, so to speak.3 points

I respectfully disagree. It depends on where you do the shooting. In some locations, not prosecuting a self-defense shooting will be committing political suicide. Look at Rittenhouse. Though the DA was wrong and lost, he was expected by the progressives to do exactly what he did. Remember, you can still be charged and arrested but not prosecuted. It may take months or years for a criminal trial to take place or it may be dropped. You're still on the hook for the legal expenses incurred even if all charges are dropped. Civil suits are easier for lawyers, not more difficult. They get a big payout it they win through settlement or trial. Juries that wouldn't convict in a criminal trial feel sympathy for the shooting 'victim' and look for excuses to award damages. It takes in many ways a much better civil lawyer than a defense lawyer to protect the SD shooter from a civil judgement. Again, there's hefty legal fees to pay even if you win your civil trial. That's why many SD shooters win at stopping the threat but face financial ruin even when the shooting was pronounced 'justified.'2 points

Anyone who is (or was) a car guy, and is of a certain age can probably name several examples of cars they once owned that would sell for far more today than back then. If you're like me, one of the reasons i was able to own some of the ones I did was that, at the time, they were just used cars, and some of them weren't really all that nice either. I didn't have the funds to keep more than a few (sometimes 1) at a time, so I changed them out regularly for others that I developed a desire for. Some even got parted out, or scrapped (yes, I once took a Boss 302 shell to the crusher) as needs arose. I don't regret owning them, or selling them when I did, as I needed the money at the time for other purchases. This topic reminds me of the ones on many gun forums, bemoaning the fact that 'I remember when you could buy a (insert favorite firearm name) for $29" ... I'll add this, my most recent purchase before I bow out of this thread ...2 points

Here’s those links to file complaints. Takes a minute, but is probably our best bet. https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/ https://stateoftennessee.formstack.com/forms/dca https://ncdoj.gov/file-a-complaint/consumer-complaint/ Gonna call the case manager today to make sure I’m on the claim list and see what I can find out. I’ll post on here any info I have.2 points

#5 on the list only happens when the shooting was deemed not to be self defense. TN Law now prevents civil action. One of our own was instrumental in this legislation2 points

I probably spend as much time or more researching the legal aspects of carrying as I do firearm training. I think both are equally important. You have to train yourself how to act in a certain situation, as much so as you do training to use a firearm.2 points

Well, mt first car was a '67 Chevelle SS. Next I had a '70 Chevelle SS 454. After that a real nice '69 Cutlass Supreme. And a sweet '69 Gran Sport. It was an auto, but had all power. Doors, windows, and A/C. It was first car with A/C.1 point

I usually try to wait several days to a week between bumps. Sometimes a little sooner if I have decided to change the price or something. Some folks bump much more often.1 point

These are the rules specific to the Trading Post. We don't have a policy about thread bumping because it's never been a problem. Let your conscience be your guide. The harder you go after it; the more likely others are to complain. And if enough people do that, we'd have to consider writing a rule around it.1 point

Contacted the Case manager to see if I was on the list of creditors and if I needed to file anything. She advised that I am on the list, but currently do not need to file a proof of claim. If and when it comes to it, the court will send out notifications and it will be completed online. Some more interesting information, apparently there is a new trustee as the previous had a conflict of interest. The trustee is still going through everything to see what if any assets there are to be liquidated. The lawyer they hired is supposed to be top notch. To give a scope of the issue, I was told there are 161 pages of creditors (more people like us). So apparently this is just the beginning and its going to take a long time. Is there anyone reading this from NC? There is a 341 meeting on January 20th (from what I know) that is open to attendance from my understanding. I would be nice if someone could attend and get info and hopefully give our side of the story if we can.1 point

Just wondering if any of you all own one of these wonderful dogs? I am a vessel Rep for BP and the HSE guy who use to work for me has been a Cane Corso breeder for the last 27 years, anyway I gave him the rotation he requested and he gifted me a pick of the litter reverse brindle Female, my wife was absolutely against me getting her but when the transport that delivered her to me from Louisiana came, I immediately put her on my wife’s lap, 20 minutes later they were best friends. We have had and still do have several other breeds of dogs, but by far after having this girl for 3 weeks they are my favorite breed1 point

I am guessing the right ends on a correct sized charging cord might work. Unless you need something to regulate it.1 point

My Tacoma has a plug in the bed, it won't work unless the engine is running, 400 watts parked and 100 watt when moving. I use mine to run a chainsaw blade sharpener, and 4" grinder from Harbor Freight (better brands draw too much power) and once to run their pole saw, which you had to start it off slow or it would trip the circuit, but it was good enough to finish clearing branches away from the site I was having a carport erected on.1 point

I have Streamlight, surefire , and Fenix. For the brightness and being compact for carrying and value, I’d go for the Fenix. Also battery life.1 point

Comped pistols are hella finicky. A lot of them have issues with light practice loads. Remove the comp and see how it runs. If it cycles ok, then you know it’s the comp and not the pistol itself. After that, find you some +P and see how it does.1 point

Agreed. Once you've used a good spotting scope and understand what one is, the POS Walmart versions won't suffice any more. Cheers, Whisper1 point

I came close. Went to Sparton last month to order a Liberty but did not order it when I was told it would be a 4 to 6 month wait. After hearing this I just went to Tractor Supply and picked up a Liberty there.1 point

Not to be flippant, but I don't have enough time to do something that can so easily be done by an interested party. There are many good sources. Here's a great source. Then if you're interested you can take it from there. Massad Ayoob. Watch his videos, read his books, listen to what he's telling you. He's a 40 year expert. I know of no one better for you to start with for the education you and every gun carrier needs. It requires study, lots of it. A permit class teaches you almost nothing. If you think it's too much time to study, get involved in a self defense shooting. Then you'll get an education that you'll pay for dearly. I hope you'll take the time to do it. It will make you wiser and better informed.1 point

I think it was Chuck Taylor who said “Beware of the man with one gun.” I don’t see anything wrong with switching from one platform to another for a while. But the guy who carries a CZ on Monday, a Glock on Tuesday, a 1911 Thursday, and a J-frame Saturday is not helping himself.1 point
