He is talking about the integral safety in a Glock's trigger shoe. Other manufacturers use different approaches. S&W uses a hinged trigger design that accomplishes the same thing in the M&P. He's still FOS.

The company my son-in-law buys him a new company every 4 years and they just pass his old one down to one of the foremen to drive. In 2019 His boss told him to go find a truck for him. He was driving a Ford Diesel and it had 304,000 miles on it when he passed it down and it is still running every day. This Time Tommy picked out a 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4 basic truck. He added a front wench cause he gets stuck on some construction sites and he put a Tommy lift gate on the back cause sometimes he needs to haul a piece of equipment to a new job site. The truck has 354,000 miles on it and except for routine maintenance the only repair was a starter. It has a cracked in the windshield now and Tommy's boss asked him if he was ready to trade and Tommy said that he is going to keep the Chevy and just have it rebuilt from bumper to bumper. The dealership he bought it from new will be doing the rebuild. They gave him an estimate and it was a lot less than a new truck plus he could not find another truck he liked. The dealer will be replacing the Engine and Transmission with new a Target motor and Transmission and they will be rebuilding the complete suspension and putting new brakes all around. The man that runs the repair center gave him the total cost for the rebuild is $17.400.00. It will take 15 days to complete it and Tommy will drive another company truck till his is ready. Except for the paint, Tommy will have a virtual new truck. The dealer is also going to put 4 new Michelin Tires on at no cost.

I have a brand new Tundra and personally don't get it. Considering going back to a RAM. Drives better, rides better, better fit/finish, 3 recalls already on my new "the best" truck . Toyota isn't what it once was.

I think they mean the trigger safety (blade in the trigger) that Glock and most other striker fired guns have.

The articles says, "Zimmerman [an attorney] said the P320 is “unique” in that SIG Sauer is the only manufacturer making this type of gun without an external manual safety. That device, known as a tab trigger, needs to be depressed “intentionally” to make sure the gun can fire. Without that tab being depressed, the gun can’t fire." Sig isn't the only company that makes a pistol without an external manual safety. Are they confusing a grip safety with a thumb safety and calling it a "tab trigger?"

If you were a cop, and you knew that admitting to a negligent discharge would result in a suspension or loss of your job, wouldn't you blame that lousy gun and/or the administration that forced you to carry it?

I liked those old Fords too, but the cold hard truth is the new ones have twice the power, burn half the fuel, and are infinitely less maintenance intensive.

Another fan of the Sig 365, but also love my Rohrbaugh 9mm. Pricey, but a very well made pocket gun.

I’ve driven a GMC for a decade. Not going to say it was entirely a good experience (engine rebuild, suspension problems, etc.) but it has not soured me on them forever. I wanted to move down to a midsized since most of the time I just drive around by myself with no cargo, and was excited about the new Colorado. Unfortunately, weighs the same as a Silverado, equivalent gas mileage, and over $50k out the door. It seems Chevy has no interest in an entry level truck anymore.

It would be cool if somebody was still making a basic “truck”.

I really don't have a clear preference or much experience with trucks. I've owned a Ford F-100 and a Toyota Tacoma (when it was a small truck). I liked both, but were both really too small for me. I've long wanted a F-150, but lordy they get expensive. I admired Ford when it didn't take bailout money form the government. Recently got the truck bug again and went out looking for one. My cousin recently got his 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid that he ordered last year and he loves it. I admit I kinda liked it too, but I prefer a truck that sits higher. Anyway, I went to all of the Nashville area Ford dealers and got the shock of my life. First, you couldn't order a new truck until they 'open up'. Second they were all adding a 5000 bucks on top of sticker price, just because they can. Last time I bought a new vehicle, one could negotiate lower than sticker. Now its the opposite, apparently. Anyway, I looked at used at carmax, where I've bought several cars in the past, and their prices have usually been good. Well not for trucks. They want about as much for a late model used as the new ones. So now Im back to not getting a new vehicle. I drive a 2017 Kia Sorento, and so far, mine has been an awesome vehicle. Its fully loaded and I got it for less than half of what it went for new, a year and a half used with low mileage. So, I'm looking at retiring fairly soon and don't need a car/truck payment anyway, both mine and my wife's car are paid for, so a new truck for me will be a lottery buy after i win. I've had them all. Chev/GMC same/same. For what you are looking for I would say Ford hands down. I pretty much lost all interest in GM trucks in the mid to late 90's and personally think Ford has prevailed since that time. Two thumbs up to Luckyforward on the Rangers. I have had them as well and found them to be great little trucks. I currently have a Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport that suits my current needs. It like all my other Toyotas of the past has been an excellent truck. I think Dodge makes the prettiest truck on the road, but the prettiest girl at the dance isn't necessarily the best girl for the long haul. JMO

Could have been at one time. I once an 01 Chevy. My son now has an 06 GMC. Except for the headlights, grille, and a few other cosmetic features, they are the same truck. Same suspension, same engine, same transmission, same interior, etc. One said Chevrolet on the tailgate, one says GMC.

If I needed or wanted a newer truck without going new it would be a GMC. I bought a used 1991 GMC 1500 Serra long bed with 11,000 miles on it and it had a 4.3 liter V-6 with overdrive tranny. I bought the truck in 1998 and for 15 years it had a Bass boat hooked to it 90% of the time and I fished lakes from Lake Fork in Texas to Santee Cooper in South Carolina and every lake in East Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. I had to have 1 Tranny rebuild and my son does that for a living and when he built it he didn't cut any corners and added a shift kit so it would not drag when it shifted. When I got the Jeep Cherokee I have already quit traveling and was fishing local so rather than watching the GMC just sit and waste away I put it up for sale. I cleaned it up and parked it out in front yard with a For Sale sign on it. (A side note, This truck still had the original Timing chain and gears in it) It also had 312,000 miles on it. My mail carrier came by about 30 minutes and saw the truck and came and knocked and she asked me how much I wanted for it and I told her and she gave me a $20 dollar bill if I would hold it till 4PM and I agreed. At 4 sharp her and her husband knocked and he asked if he could drive it and I handed him the keys. When he returned he asked me again the price and I said $2,000.00 firm. He told his wife to go to the bank and get the money. When she returned he handed me the cash and I gave him the paper work and he said he lived in Portland and I told him to use my tags to drive it home. The next day my plate was in my mailbox as his wife put it there. Now that I have told you the history of my GMC I would positively buy another one!!! ( note I would look for a little older model with a 4.3 liter)

As far as going armed during the day. If I go out side for any reason including to just sit on my deck and watch H Birds I am armed. Anytime I am in the house I am no further that a few feet away for a weapon. I even got my Marlin 60 /w optics and went out back and went through a full tube of ammo to make sure the scope was still on. I hit 10 out 10 poker chips at 30 yards. I reloaded it and came back in the house and put it on the Rifle Rack. I know a lot of folks snub their nose at a 22lr but I have total confidence in 22lr's.

If you listen the recording, the armed security is being told to stay in the background and not be noticeable. They want the guns watching their backs, but don't want anyone seeing their hypocrisy. And yes, Brian Wilson did point out that being armed on the capital grounds is illegal. I really don't understand how "bird dogging" (harassing) legislators and causing "mayhem" is going to do them any good. That would just piss me off. There's just no way to understand how the mind of a liberal works.

I agree with this statement. Hearing it always feels weird, and I don’t need to be thanked for volunteering. As you know, when we signed on that line, we took an oath to put everything on the line In defense of our country. In return, the government guaranteed us that we and our families would be taken care of if we were injured or killed. Our government already wants to keeps citizens poor and mostly ignorant to continue to fill the ranks of the military on a volunteer basis, as well as working low wage jobs. The government would eventually have to return to the draft to fill its ranks if they also develop a reputation worst than they already have if youngsters see that the government actually taking care of veterans is a myth. This is my not in my backyard moment. I know the government needs to make cuts, but I’d suggest looking at all of the foreign aid we dish out first. That’s another issue for me, because I know in many cases foreign aid is strategically necessary to our national security. Oh well, as usual, I don’t have the answers. It’s just concerning for me when I think about all of the injured young warriors who probably won’t get the benefits they’ve earned.

As a combat wounded 'Nam Vet, I waited 40+ years before someone thanked me for my service. It took awhile to get used to that, but now I'm grateful to hear it. Even little kids. Shows it came from the parents. Am I surprised by any cuts the Feds make? Not in the least!

Nope, but some states frown on people carrying guns.....probably the same ones.
