  1. My daughter age 39 and a mother of four has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She's seen the docs (got a second opinion) and the oncologist and is being set up for treatment of her particular type of cancer. Without going into to much detail I am asking that for those of you that pray may include Sarah in your prayers. She' a good daughter, wife and mother and she can use all the help she can get. Thanks in advance to all of you that may take the time.

  3. Being a bit long in the tooth my carry before Glocks became fashionable was a 1911. I still carry it from time to time. Back then as now I was always known to be a quick witted, maybe a little obnoxious, outspoken sarcastic SOB. Spending 26 years in the military helped me perfect these traits. I was called a lot of names back in those days as you can imagine and gotta say I earned most of them. The missus on the other hand saw right thru all that almost immediately. Women are so perceptive. Anyway after the movie came out in 2008 most of my friends said "holy crap dude" that's you! While not exactly like Walt we could have been brothers.

  8. Mine comes from my old 1989 Toyota Tercel. One of the most reliable vehicles I know of. I had it from the time I was a teenager until well after I got married. It was one of Toyotas last engines that used a carburetor. I got 50 mpg in that car. It became a legend with my brother and I. We took it everywhere. It had 387,000 miles on it when some drunk crashed into it. I sure miss it. I'd take one of those Tercels in new condition over any sports or luxury car anyday. 387,000 miles , same factory clutch, did not burn nor leak oil, ran great.

  9. Look ... I honestly don't see much hope for a positive outcome here. Your expectations are unrealistic and the origin of your complaint seems to be a sense of entitlement. I'll be glad to refund your Benefactor status, delete any sale ads that you may have posted, and wish you a happy life somewhere else if you agree that there isn't much chance in TGO satisfying you.

  10. There are too many factors involved in situations like this for us to make a one-size fits all policy to address it. That is why we have buyer/seller feedback as a tool for people on TGO to use. When you post that you are interested in an item, it's normal to expect the seller to at least respond to you - but the fact is that they are under no obligation to do so, and your act of expressing interest in the item does not constitute some sort of contract with them to sell to you. There are plenty of good reasons why either party in a potential transaction might want to back away from the deal, including the right to exercise their personal discretion / gut-instinct if they feel that some part of the transaction is suspicious. I do find it somewhat strange that three different sellers have done this to you, so I would like to know more. Use the feature to report the threads in question so that we can look into it.

  11. Ive got a like new cmmg 5.7 ar conversion kit with an 8" barrel (threaded 1/2x28) and 2 gen 2 30rd mags available. Includes cmmg's roller delayed bcg and uses a standard charging handle and standard buffer. I fired 50 rounds through it, a mixture of fn and federal, suppressed and this thing runs like a sewing machine. Zero recoil. Selling to fund a MK12 upper build. Asking $400 ftf in and around the Murfreesboro area.

  12. Unfortunately Keith isn’t an option at this time - but my father has a Colt 9mm 1911 and maybe one more that is needing some work done on it. He’s not on local boards so I told him I’d put some feelers out. I suggested he/we find one that has a good track record that may not be local, and ship to them (as is most common with AK’s, other more specialized firearms); but he is wanting to talk to the smith if at all possible and show what he’s wanting done.

  14. You may want to take a peek at the CZ 457 lineup as well. They are pretty modular in regards to swapping around different CZ factory stocks/chassis and barrels as well as a pretty robust aftermarket selection of stocks and barrels etc. to create whatever tickles your fancy.

  24. For that budget, I would be looking for a Bergera B14R and put it in a KRG Bravo stock. The REM 700 action pattern would give you options down the road. Forget the RPR. The T1X is ok, but much harder to find stocks.

  26. With respect, you don't know what you're talking about. That elderly woman was severely injured, spent 8 days in the hospital, needed skin grafts, and never once asked for a dime more than she was owed for medicals and lost income for her daughter providing care. McD's offered $800. It was discovered McD's was intentionally keeping the coffee dangerously hot (180-190F) because their studies showed most customers drank it after they got to their office/wherever and they wanted it to still be hot then. The woman initially only wanted $20K to cover her hospital bills. She and her lawyer tried multiple times to get them to settle at reasonable amounts. They refused. The jury awarded her $160K in compensatory damages for her medicals, loss of quality of life, and her daughter's income who had been providing care. The jury then stacked $2.7M on as punitive damages. Her daughter said much of the money went to pay for medical bills and a full time live-in nurse until her death 10 years later and that she had very poor quality of life from both the injuries and the toll of the trial. I wouldn't recommend that as a get rich tactic.

  32. Mine - accompanied by my avatar - is pretty much self-explanatory. I switched so that I could anonymize my digital footprint further. I have a pretty much so "useless" Master degree in Cybersecurity, but it did clue me in on what's probable as far as being hacked. It also was demonstrated when we sued a furniture manufacturer, (an NDA prevents me from saying which manufacturer), over an injury sustained by my wife. They were able to get into her Facebook postings even though she had it set to "private", and thought they were safe...not! It didn't damage our case, but it was a shocker.

  40. How the heck is anyone supposed to know your post count on AKfiles and reputation to make transactions on TGO. This a regional/state forum. Nothing like a big city guy coming to a small town to declare his importance. Tends to rub the small town guys the wrong way no matter how big the city was. You gotta earn your reputation where you're at not, where your from.

  41. Also consider that you only have 21 posts. Many folks here strongly prefer to do business with long standing and established members who they know. We had a thread about such things just recently. It simply boils down to their gun, their choice.

  42. Yeah, an "I'll take it" with a delay condition is not an I'll take it. It's "I'll take it" and most convenient that gets it. A weeks delay is a sellers discretion to agree to or not. The seller has the right to accept what is most convenient for him. An "I'll take it" does not give the buyer the ability to dictate the terms after the fact.
