  1. The PIF thread is pretty dead so I thought I would post this here. These items are free for pickup in Murfreesboro.

  2. ADVICE FOR ANYONE MOVING TO TENNESSEE: 1. Save all bacon grease. You will be instructed later how to use it. 2. If you do run your car into a ditch, don't panic. Four men in the cab of a four wheel drive with a 12-pack of beer and a tow chain will be along shortly. Don't try to help them. Just stay out of their way. This is what they live for. 3. Remember: "Y'all" is singular. "All y'all" is plural. "All y'all's" is plural possessive. 4. Get used to the phrase "It's not the heat, it's the humidity.” And the collateral phrase "You call this hot? Wait'll August." 5. Don't tell us how you did it up there. Nobody cares. 6. If you think it's too hot, don't worry. It'll cool down-in November. 7. A Mercedes-Benz is not a status symbol, a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford is. 8. If someone says they're "fixin" to do something, that doesn't mean anything's broken. 9. The value of a parking space is not determined by the distance to the door, but the availability of shade. 10. If you are driving a slower moving vehicle, on a two lane road pull onto the shoulder that is called "courtesy". 11. BBQ is a food group. It does NOT mean grilling burgers and hot dogs outdoors. 12. Yes, weddings, funerals, and divorces must take into account for UT Football games. 13. Everything is better with Ranch dressing. 14. DO NOT honk your horn at us to be obnoxious, we will sit there until we die. 15. We pull over and stop for funerals and emergency vehicles to pass. 16. We respect the flag and the national anthem. 17. In most instances, "Bless your Heart" is a nice way of saying you're an idiot. 18. No matter what kind of soft drink: Sprite, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mtn Dew, it isn't called soda or pop. It is all called "Coke." 19. We throw our hands up at random strangers passing by. It’s normal. 20. There will always be a tractor on the two lane when you are running late, so allow time for that. 21. Sweet tea is a food group. 22. Yonder IS a word. 23. If you don't like the weather in Tennessee, wait 15 minutes, it will change.

  4. GAFS is the quick road to bankruptcy! However it is a great place to find used gear and I feel generally pretty safe dealing with high flair users for transactions. I would be very hesitant to spend hundreds of dollars on a new user without going through paypal G&S, however had no issue spending money on a high value item going through one of the mods as a proxy. If you wait for a decent deal you could pretty easily get your money back if you don't like whatever you end up with.

  5. Oh, you mean the young couples who are just out of “Kollidge” and he’s an intern at a paper clip factory and she’s a part time puppy manicurist and they have a budget of 3.5 million to go toward their “rustic” cabin as their second home? Those people?

  7. Took both to the range. They are more accurate than I am. Recoil was strong with both. The Savage stock fits me better. Looks like I need a few more range trips to decide.

  8. 5.1 lbs or about 208 rounds of once fired 6.5 Creedmoor brass. These are not scavenged off the ground at the range, I removed these cases one at a time as I shot from a bolt action rifle. So I expect they are in better shape than stuff sitting on the ground and getting stepped on. They are from various brands but mostly Hornady and Federal from their Match or Hunting lines (no surplus). I am in Murfreesboro and would prefer to hand this off in person rather than shipping it but can ship it if buyer pays the actual shipping cost. I don't reload, I kept these just to keep a count of how many rounds I have fired through this rifle. Therefore I am not really sure of the value and can only find cleaned/tumbled prices online (about $60/100) so pricing is my best guess of $80 for the lot, or your best offer. Will consider trades, let me know what you have.

  9. Sometime this week I'll try to post the letter I sent my state representative last month on this issue. There's already a comprehensive statutory involuntary commitment process in TN that renders unnecessary the type of RFL law touted by Gov. Lee and company. Still they want to pass a new law. To a man with only a hammer, every problem is a nail.

  10. Hi, I was shopping for a 1911 CDR in 9mm (aging body). After considerable consultation and trials, I purchased a BUL 1911 CDR in 9mm. It was smoother than a Dan Wesson (at half the price) and for the past 6 months eats every ammo flawlessly except weird coated ones. Everything else I tried has zero FTF after over a thousand rounds. Its fit and finish is sweet and it racks easily. The only thing my gunsmith added was an ambi safety and a lighter magazine release spring (arthritis). The other heavily advertised popular brands I tried were HORRIBLE in comparison. The trigger is so smooth and the second shot so quick that this is my EDC if weather and wardrobe permit. I get $0 dollars for this but PLEASE try one before you commit to anything else. I’m a firearms instructor and get NO kick backs, but get no joy out of teaching students with suboptimal pistols.

  11. I use (and like) AntennaPod. I too listened to The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill, and the bonus episode with Tim Keller was my favorite. It helped me appreciate why he became such a "celebrity" (for luck of a better word). I listened to the first episode of In Plain Sight: Lady Bird Johnson. I found it interesting, but I'm going to catch up with Project 22:3 before I continue that one. Am I in serious need for mental health services, or is everyone else hearing Better Help ads on most of their podcasts, too?

  13. The whole thing could have been avoided if the city had just let him build his road. Why would they not? “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.” ― H.L. Mencken

  14. "The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. The moment the Men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these Men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people's door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy... but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone." ^^^

  16. You really need to add a block under the frame. Pulling those straps down on the suspension has castrostrophic potential as you bounce down the road. Also, it'll hold tight and not compress with the suspension. Plus, the straps are only stabilizing and not putting retention stress on parts.

  18. Reflecting on Senator Taylor's remarks, Governor Lee's efforts of recent months, and the lackluster results of a GOP supermajority, it seems to me that when it comes to returning Tennessee firearms law to harmony with founding principles, the courtroom is a more viable path than the ballot box.

  19. These people are full of #### and the cops are blaming the gun rather than their own incompetence. Hard stop. Do you know who Bruce Gray is? Bruce is a master gunsmith and owner of Gray Guns. They have a very heavy focus on Sig Sauer firearms at Gray Guns and he knows a thing or two about the P320 and about how to test things. He recently did an exhaustive test on the P320 to see if it could fire out of battery. It cannot. P320 out-of-battery testing - Grayguns This video also addresses the recent ridiculous claims.
