  1. The 2nd as it is written is the best and only argument we need. Especially the last few words, “”” shall not be infringed “””.

  2. I thought the 2nd Amendment was the common sense gun law.

  3. I’ve always read it as “as much as we can get this time before we start in asking for more next go around.“

  4. It means gun control that only restricts the freedom of law abiding citizens. Typically they want every legal gun sale to go through a FFL (and a national registry and tracking system for all firearms), ban any magazines that can be easily detached and/or hold more than 10 rounds, severe restrictions on where/when you can legally carry a firearm, registration and qualification to own a firearm, ban assault weapons (which of course are just semi automatics with cosmetic features that scare ignorant people), take away firearms from any person they think might be dangerous, and other such things. None of these things will prevent criminals from committing violent crimes like assault or murder which are already against the law anyway. I call them nonsense gun laws as opposed to common sense.

  5. I guess you could say, the problem with Common Sense Gun Laws is that the people pushing them don't have much common sense.

  6. Had my shoulder scoped (3-18-24) on Monday, and really feeling it today. Bone spurs. Removed 2 large ones and cleaned up rotator cuff where the spurs damaged. Very sore this morning. Go for bandage change tomorrow and set P T in motion. Been dealing with much pain for over a year. Was on blood thinner for 4 heart stent insertion last year. Looking forward to improvements.

  7. In the Air Fryer thread, we were talking about the Fry Daddy, which made me think of a fun topic. What are some things that kids these days simply wouldn't understand? Doesn't have to be 'a thing' it could be a common courtesy like shaking hands or an act like Sunday drives. A few examples:

  8. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. I have the 1st rifle I ever shot. But I had to purchase my grandfathers entire collection from the "estate" to get it. 100% worth it

  9. Absolutely not. I have a single shot .22 that belonged to my Grandpa and I probably havent shot it a dozen times in 20 years. It has a permanent place in my gun case because no amount of money can buy those memories and that provenance

  10. I traded about $30,000 worth of guns and $150,000 to boot for a 35 acre farm about 8 years ago. Guy wanted $180,000 for the property and I didn't have but $150,000. I didn't want to have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a loan approval and pay a bunch of closing costs so I traded him my gun collection.

  11. Drinking from the water hose in summer, getting home before the street lights came on, making your best friend by beating the crap out of each other, console TV/turntable/radio and 8 track....being the remote and the antenna. Good times!

  12. RE: the OP's question . . . Being on the phone and someone else picking up another phone in the house and listening in. Being chained to a cord while on the phone. Not knowing who was calling when the phone rang. Riding in the back window ledge of a car and waving at the cops. Sleeping in the rear floorboard with the warm transmission tunnel as a pillow. Having to call MOVIE PHONE or get a newspaper to know what the theater was showing. A bookshelf full of Encyclopedias . . . and learning about the important stuff in the "S" book 1940s and 50s cars and trucks had them. I know the Chevy 3100 Advanced Design trucks had them.

  15. 12 cassettes from RCA or Colombia House for 99 cents! Then they’d send you a random cassette every other month. You had to send it back if you didn’t want to pay for it.

  16. Who remembers clackers. My aunt had a pair of blue glass clackers. I loved playing with them over at her house in the mid 70's.

  18. When was the last time you received a collect call? I remember making a collect call to the office years ago. The man who always answered the phone was nearly deaf. He kept telling the operator “Greg’s not here!” Lol.
