  2. Drove about 250 miles round trip to get this bad boy today and Im over the moon ecstatic. Thanks to @Patton for the tip on where I could find one. Ill be pairing this fighting revolver up with a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake in black alligator as my Sunday go to meeting rig. The Sourdough has the IWB straps on it, and should help make carrying a big chunk of steel much more comfortable.

  4. Thanks for the replies and info. S I L will get it today. His 31 Y O son, who has "Downs Syndrome", wanted his mother to wrap the pistol box in pink paper. She did. His dad picks at Cody all the time. A little payback never hurts. His whole family will be here at 1:00 for lunch. BBQ and Fried Chicken, cheezie Mack n cheese, baked beans, salad ranch dressing, Coconut cream pie and B Day Cake, you know, Man food guys. My birthday today also, 76 today. Just never figured I would be here for this day. I am blessed by God. Bible says man's normal allotted days, baring accident or health, are three score and 10 (70 Years). Or if blessed four score (80 Y O). I AM TRAVELING BLESSED TIME GUYS. Jesus Christ is the way. (John 3:16-17) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Life is good for me today. I have accomplished the things necessary to put myself into the position to be able to take advantage of God's saving grace, through faith, in His Son Jesus. Put simply, I am on the way to heaven, today. Can't wait to see Son In Laws face getting a 12" square Pink Box that he has no Idea what is in it. We goanna have a big laugh, together!

  5. This was Burley , my buddy and my other child. I raised him from a puppy. His mom was a Jack Russell and his father was a Black Lab ( imagine that situation with a step-ladder LOL) . He passed away a few years ago at the age of 17. He watched my son go from Kindergarten all the way through graduating college. He was my buddy. He rode in my lap , watched over my family and was just awesome ! The picture of him with the pistol was not meant to have him in it but he kept laying in front of the gun and it turned out to be one of his most majestic pictures. I love you and miss you Burley !

  8. Absolutely not. I have a single shot .22 that belonged to my Grandpa and I probably havent shot it a dozen times in 20 years. It has a permanent place in my gun case because no amount of money can buy those memories and that provenance

  11. Sat. am Mar 2, I had a serious heart attack. Doctors found too many blockages to put stents. Did put 2. Went from Wilson Vanderbilt to St. Thomas. Nashville. Got home yesterday, doing rather well so far. Will have to do cardiac rehab of recovery . Never know what the next day will bring.

  12. Finally spent some time in the shop with my pops back when it was cold. Built an Alamo style bowie just because it was cool. Used 1084 hot rolled bar stock, 2.t" wide by 1/4" thick. Blade is almost 3" wide and a foot long. Through tang construction with brass ring and butt cap, mild steel guard that was hot punched and scrolled, then fit hot and quenched for a friction fit. Im pretty proud of this one, and still building memories with Dad at 70.

  13. It’s not difficult to believe. Lots of guys on here have some serious collections. I don’t think it far fetched that most would be in like new condition. Despite differences that some of us my have, outside of my family and military buddies, these are some of the most honest people I’ve ever met. I normally purchase new, moderately priced guns in pairs. I’ve sold and purchased several that are exactly as described. Some guns get a magazine or two through them, and some don’t. I have some expensive guns in the safe that I just wanted, and they’ve never had a magazine inside them. The most important thing I’ve learned about buying or selling on here is to be honest. A good reputation makes it easy to do both. In most cases, if the sale were local, I’d almost always throw in something (ammo or accessories) for free. Good luck with your future sales or purchases!

  14. Sounds like your issue has more to do with pricing than believing someone's weapon has/hasn't been fired. To the latter there's a lot of good people on TGO and when I deal with someone I take them at their word. If they lie then they run the risk of being outed at the point we make the deal. Same for me if im the seller. To the former you're going to have to learn to look laugh and move on.

  15. Very good condition S&W Model 10-7 tapered barrel revolver. Unfortunately no box or docs. Just the revolver as shown. Manufactured in 1977. I picked this up a while back, shot it, cleaned it and put it up. Now looking to sell to replenish my gun fund! Slight wear at the muzzle from holstering otherwise it's perfect! Shoots great! $575 cash or $600 for those who like to negotiate! Spring Hill area or close by please. No Shipping.

  16. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. I have the 1st rifle I ever shot. But I had to purchase my grandfathers entire collection from the "estate" to get it. 100% worth it

  17. Every new story I've read so far says they kicked the door in around 6am to serve a warrant for selling guns w/out proper paperwork. That sounds exactly like what the ATF would do. Rather than arrest him when he leaves the home, pull him over on the way to work, or arrest him at work, they chose the most violent, risky, and least intelligent means to their end.

  19. Price dropped to $600. Looking to move my Colt Detective Special. The colt serial lookup dates it as a 1969. Carried a lot in a pocket holster, shot very little. Its a post-66 short frame, good shape, some bluing wear from carry, and a ding in the right side stock. Shoots good, and a dandy pocket gun or collectible. Moving on to different things. $600 around Knoxville, Lenoir City, Oak Ridge, etc.

  20. Been wanting to see how these compared. Finally got a Micro Dagger last week and thought I'd pass on my experience. Quality: the handling and feel of the CR920 is better on every level. It's one of those things you can just see and feel. The PSA isn't bad, it just doesn't have anything unnecessary or extra. It just doesn't "look" refined. The CR920 has all the little extras. Handling: the PSA actually shoots better. The micros trigger is slightly heavier but more crisp and consistent. The CR920 is a little on the mushy side and the break is a bit soft. It's not bad but in a side by side comparison, it's noticeable. However, the CR920 feels better in my hand. While the CR920 feels smaller it also feels a bit wider than the PSA. The PSA feels great but feels vanilla at the same time. Accuracy: both would hit where they were pointed ... when I did my job. However, the slight mush of the CR920 trigger opened the groups of a bit. Both are more accurate than me. I think with a bit of trigger refinement the CR920 will be better than the PSA, but not in it's stock configuration. Mags: the PSA mags worked great but they look and feel cheap with the partial poly makeup. Mag lockup of the PSA was also a bit loose feeling and feedback was neutral at best. I would often double check that they were seated. Once I thought it was and when it wouldn't charge the first round, I found it hadn't fully seated. The CR920 mags locked in consistently with positive feedback and looked quality. Extras: none of my kydex CR920/43x mos holsters fitted the PSA securely. I have a dedicated holster from Eclipse holsters coming for the PSA. Both take Glock sights Bottom line: I ran both with Holosun 407K-GR and like them both! They both have standard pic rails (Big negative I had with the P365). The CR920 has the ability to be smaller with the different mag sizes. The PSA has 15 rnd mags (+2 over the CR920). I would have no problem if I only had one over the other. Is one better? Eh the CR920 is more refined but you pay for it. The PSA is cheaper and less refined but does all the fundamentals right ... get both.

  22. Yep. I wonder how much prices in general are going to go up now due to this new hitch in the supply chain. I’m being a bit facetious, but also serious. Where do the boats with European ammo shipments land? Hope it’s not around there.

  23. I turned 67 on groundhogs day. I’ve dislocated both shoulders, broke left arm twice, skin graft on left hand from a fight with a FedEx conveyor belt, bone spur on left knee, gall bladder tried to kill me and was removed, 1 ruptured disk and 1 slipped disk and heart attack requiring 2 stints. Other than these minor issues I’m in pretty good shape. BS. If I were a horse they would have shot me years ago. Hope you’re on the mend! “ Getting old ain’t for sissies. “

  24. Eh, I didn't see anyone get mad. We just obviously think you're wrong in this context. No offense meant of course, but you made a post to ask so... collectively, we answered. One extra cool thing about this place: If someone WAS trying to sell you used as NIB... you can report that. The community does its best to weed out dishonest folks.

  25. I am one who does not have a lot of trouble believing it. I just counted and I have 34 guns right now. About 2 thirds of them I bought new. I have shot 3 of them. I just like collecting them. I used to be a class 3 dealer back in the 80's and had dozens of machine guns. I played with so many full autos that I am no longer much interested in firing an ordinary firearm. On top of that there is no convenient place to shoot around here. Your situation may be different.

  26. This is our yellow lab/german shepherd mix. We got him from a shelter at the beginning of Covid as a puppy. Met his breeders by chance a couple years later. His sister is a TSA dog. He’s been perfect for us, loyal and great with my daughter and fierce protector of the house.

  27. TCA 39-17-1307 Make carrying club misdemeanor. TCA 39-17-1308 is the defenses which list what has been already mentioned. I carried one for several years only really used it to get something that fell under a patrol car or break windows. I always just went to hard hand/ strikes same level. Carrying oc spray doesn't require any cert if I recall and that will make most people not having a mental issue or drug issue eyes clamp down and they typically aren't as aggressive physically anymore.

  28. As my handle suggests, I am pretty passionate about increasing school security. As we all know however, often times such conversations have a tendency to fall on deaf ears. There are however, ways to make small positive steps forward. Earlier this year I got a Grant for Stop The Bleed Training Kits so I can teach school personnel how to handle injuries that require more than a band aid. Well, the kits came in today, and I am Super Pumped!

  29. If this has already been covered I apologize. Saw this little gem pop up at the LGS and thought it would make a dandy pocket carry piece. Its a 442 with VZ grips, big dot sights, and no lock, coming in at 16 oz unloaded. They have a 642 and 442 as well as a 6 shot .32 H&R version. For a revolver guy or a BUG setup these seem to fit the bill. Ill report back with a range report as soon as I get over there to pick it up out of layaway. https://www.guns.com/news/2024/02/06/meet-the-new-smith-wesson-ultimate-carry-j-frame-in-32-h-and-r-mag-and-38-spl

  33. It seems the fellow WAS doing business without a license. At least, what he was doing was very sketchy. That said, ATF once again proved that they love to turn a simple arrest into a firefight. If it was about enforcing a (patently unconstitutional) law, then just asking him to come into the office, or having the local police do a traffic stop would have sufficed. 34. When I first joined this site, I only owned a handful of guns, only what I needed and they'd all been fired a lot. I was a impressed to learn how many people on here had collections of firearms, not just necessities. I thought they must be millionaires, LOL. As I've come to realize time/age is a more of a factor to the size of the collection than wealth. I'm not wealthy by any stretch, but over the past 20+ years my collection has grown. I now see how easy it is to have unfired LNIB guns.

  35. Ok so first is a 1923 Winchester 94. The barrel is actually from an earlier 1894 and is octagonal. It has been cut down from 26” to 22”. This is a buddies but I did the cleanup on it. Full tear down and cleaning. Wood cleaned up and a new hand rubbed oil finish. The barrel blueing is great except for some spots near the muzzle where something got on the finish and caused rust. I cleaned it up the best I could w/o messing with the original finish. The receiver/parts, butt plate and forend cap got some cold blueing. turned out nice.

  36. Whatever works for you is the best. I tell ya one thing , the Ruger LCP .380 makes it so easy to run to the parts store , grocery store , or dollar store. It fits right in the front pocket with a DeSantis pocket holster. I've been doing this for over 8 years. It's so much easier than belting-up an holstering-up a bigger gun. I will say that when we go to more populated places and pack the bigger tools.

  38. Been looking for good . 357 carry revolver and was curious about the K6S or a King Cobra. Willis68 had both and I got to handle them both and both are fantastic. The K6S was just so light, thin, slim, and modern feeling. At the same time, it felt solid and tight. I really liked the looks of the 2" barrel but really liked the increased ballistics of the 3". I got to say this is the most carriable 3" revolver I've ever held. Excited to get it to the range.
