  1. Absolutely not. I have a single shot .22 that belonged to my Grandpa and I probably havent shot it a dozen times in 20 years. It has a permanent place in my gun case because no amount of money can buy those memories and that provenance

  2. This wasn’t about serving a warrant or preserving evidence. This was about sending a message.

  3. Very good condition S&W Model 10-7 tapered barrel revolver. Unfortunately no box or docs. Just the revolver as shown. Manufactured in 1977. I picked this up a while back, shot it, cleaned it and put it up. Now looking to sell to replenish my gun fund! Slight wear at the muzzle from holstering otherwise it's perfect! Shoots great! $575 cash or $600 for those who like to negotiate! Spring Hill area or close by please. No Shipping.

  4. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. I have the 1st rifle I ever shot. But I had to purchase my grandfathers entire collection from the "estate" to get it. 100% worth it

  5. Every new story I've read so far says they kicked the door in around 6am to serve a warrant for selling guns w/out proper paperwork. That sounds exactly like what the ATF would do. Rather than arrest him when he leaves the home, pull him over on the way to work, or arrest him at work, they chose the most violent, risky, and least intelligent means to their end.

  6. I guess you could say, the problem with Common Sense Gun Laws is that the people pushing them don't have much common sense.

  7. Yep. I wonder how much prices in general are going to go up now due to this new hitch in the supply chain. I’m being a bit facetious, but also serious. Where do the boats with European ammo shipments land? Hope it’s not around there.

  9. Ok. I probably should have taken better (more) photos. This is the rifle I got when my buddy Bjon got the one above. It’s also a Winchester 1894 but from 1907 chambered in 38-55. I cleaned up and re-did the oil finish on the wood. This was the dirtiest rifle I have picked up yet. It made me wonder if it had been cleaned in the last 50+ years. I had to get oil in it just to get it to cycle. I did a complete tear down, cleaning and such. The rust was removed from the metal parts for the most part and then cold blued. I like them to still have some of their character, not to look like a Turnbill gun. I picked up an old Lyman peep sight for this one.

  10. On that note, there’s not a bridge structure on earth that can withstand the force of impact from a 300M/97,000 ton vessel.

  12. It seems the fellow WAS doing business without a license. At least, what he was doing was very sketchy. That said, ATF once again proved that they love to turn a simple arrest into a firefight. If it was about enforcing a (patently unconstitutional) law, then just asking him to come into the office, or having the local police do a traffic stop would have sufficed. "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." - George Washington

  14. At some point I discovered I would sleep better without it so I quit using it. I had lost some weight and my Doctor said that can actually cure sleep apnea. I did quit with my Doctor’s approval.

  15. Quite a valid point. FIx it and sue the at fault. Should be a slam dunk with the history of that ship. My thinking is the fed dollars will never be returned, prices will increase due to using other ports, the shippers and ports will make a profitt and any money recouped from the ship owners will be diverted to the companies who take a "loss" over the whole mess. In essence, we will pay twice to rebuild. Also, I'm totally untrusting of anything coming out of Joe's mouth.

  16. We had an 18 wheeler hit the bridge abutment of SR171 going over I-40 in Mt Juliet and severely damage it. I don’t know if you can imagine closing My Juliet road, but it was a disaster. I tell you this to say that no one haggled over who paid to repair it. The state picked up the tab, and later went after the trucking company, insurance company, and whoever to recoup the money. Priority one was to reopen the bridge to traffic. That may not make sense to you, but it does to me.

  18. I just picked up this Springfield Armory SOCOM 16 at my FFL I made a trade deal for it off another forum I belong to. I'm thinking of a new project just got to figure out what. I am going to get a wood stock for it, I just prefer them to the "plastic" ones. Here's one pic I took after I got it home it came with the orginal Box, web Sling all the paperwork, some manuals, and one 10rnd. mag and three 20rnd mags. I'll post some more once I figure out what I want to do.

  20. Hate to break it to ya, but that page of history has already been written. Our kids and grandkids will get to live it because we gave away everything in search of cheap crap to buy at cheaper prices and the illusion of always fleeting power. The locus of global power has shifted eastward already and we are doing nothing but continuing to impoverish ourselves with our foreign and economic policy and focusing on an irrelevant European continent. China, Russia, and the Islamic world doesn’t have to do anything to destroy us other than not get in our way.

  21. Surely the wisdom of our legislators managed to not include bridge building in that bill....just sayin'. n:

  22. I saw Buttgig in a news conference say they will likely have to seek funding from Congress (aka taxpayer dollars) to replace the bridge. I call BS on that, they can use some of that $1.2 trillion they just got a couple of years ago: "The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), aka Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, 2021. The law authorizes $1.2 trillion for transportation and infrastructure spending with $550 billion of that figure going toward "new" investments and programs."

  23. My first question is WHY don't you use it anymore. I'm hoping because you got a better one or some alternative vs simply "I quit using it". Sorry/Not sorry about the health challenge, but I couldn't imagine being without mine. Total game changer.

  24. Had my shoulder scoped (3-18-24) on Monday, and really feeling it today. Bone spurs. Removed 2 large ones and cleaned up rotator cuff where the spurs damaged. Very sore this morning. Go for bandage change tomorrow and set P T in motion. Been dealing with much pain for over a year. Was on blood thinner for 4 heart stent insertion last year. Looking forward to improvements.

  25. Why would that be wrong? I’ve got all manner of stuff that belonged to my grandparents. This includes several guns I’ll likely never shoot again.

  26. Why would it be bad? People keep all kinds of things for purely sentimental reasons. At least guns have a use and overall normally increase in value. My Dad has a very heartfelt request I get my Papaw's police sidearm. I remember that chrome Model 19 riding on his hip when I was a kid. Same as my Dad's .444 Marlin Lever gun. It is the association of each to them that makes them more than wood and steel. Once gone you can never get that back.

  31. As the old saying goes, "Show pictures or it didn't happen." You sure made yourself believable, @Defender I've got a plate and some screws in my right ankle from an old tib-fracture, but that's penny-ante compared to your hardware. I pray that God gets you back on your feet in record time.

  34. I've got my grandfather's 12 gauge bolt action shotgun and S&W model 18. The shotgun is the first I ever shot. The S&W was the interest I paid him on a college loan - he wouldn't agree to interest so I gave him the gun when I made the last payment. He said he didn't want it, so I told him to toss it in the lake. He passed away years later but still hadn't made that trip to the lake... Both are priceless to me.
