  1. There's a guy on Armslist that travels all over TN selling them. I'm waiting until he comes to Knoxville but he's pretty much the best one I know of at a good price. The only local guy here, that I know of, sells them for $30 each
  2. Nice. I've only seen them at Academy here in Knoxville and they are $19.99 a box of 20 which is the same price as the critical defense.
  3. Wow...big benefits to retiring as a cop.
  4. I laughed and now I feel bad I avoid them like the plague as well but I just don't like stopping and being harassed. If I'm breaking the law, by all means pull me over. If I'm not, leave me alone.
  5. Awesome! Thanks for that...I thought almost everything had to be done by a Sig certified armorer to keep my warranty in tact. Now all I need is for CDNN to put the SP2022 .40 mags on sale for $10 each like they did the 9mm and I'll stock up and buy the gun all at once So anyone know of any other places around Knoxville other than Predator customs shop that can install night sights?
  6. I'm going to buy a Sig Pro SP2022 soon and will be in need of getting some night sights installed on them so it can become my carry gun. I would say EDC but unfortunately, I can only carry 2 days a week . Anyone know of an armorer that can do it.
  7. Awesome! I hope I never have a problem with my Sig's but it's good to have some knowledge of how their customer service takes care of things just in case.
  8. Awesome! How did it shoot for you? I've been wanting to buy both the Sig522 and Sig556 but I haven't convinced myself that $1500 is worth it yet.
  9. Definitely not for the trooper Maybe the Sheriff will promote himself to "Ultra Sheriff"
  10. Okay! Thank you all for the responses. I almost bought a box today at Academy but then I remembered that they just looked like the Personal Defense loads with green inserts so I decided against it but I've got to head that way again on next Tuesday so I figured I'd double check.
  11. Welcome to the site.
  12. At a really high price...his "The Answer" starts at Regular price: $125.00. I wish I could help you out more but I've never used that brand before.
  13. Am I correct in stating that the ZMax ammo is just their personal defense ammo with a green plastic insert instead of pink/red?
  14. The worse part of this entire ordeal is this Fired State Trooper Will Not Face Criminal Charges - NewsChannel5.com | Nashville News, Weather & Sports I guess professional courtesy only goes one way but I agree with the termination but there should be 3 people terminated and a new election for a sheriff in Rutherford county. We lost one good trooper and got to keep a turd....how's that fair?
  15. Take a look at these http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearm-accessories/64502-review-advance-holsters-brent-fernandez.html http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearm-accessories/64331-hybrid-holsters.html
  16. That Ruger 10/22 looks fun but only if $200 or less. Let's see what else looks fun XD9 Taurus PT92AF XD45 M&P40 - they can be had brand new for around $385 with 3 mags... H&K USP 9mm - I want that one Baretta 92FS S&W M&P 357C And a whole crap ton of Sigmas's and Hi Points.
  17. GEARHOG | 50% - 70% off your favorite outdoors, hunting and fishing gear The current deal is actually decent for once. It's $40 gift card to OpticsPlanet.com for $20. They've got a pretty decent selection on holsters and gun belts and I'm sure everyone else can find something else they want there as well. Enjoy it while it's available. I haven't purchased one yet and if they are still around after I get off work tonight, I'll buy one and then get myself a new gun belt and hopefully something else.
  18. I've been checking out some stuff and here's the best of the crop so far. ALL ammo at Dick's Sporting Goods will be Buy one Get one 50% off. It doesn't sound like the greatest of deals but I know that for 40 S&W, it comes out to $15 a box or less depending on the brand. With Remington UMC, it's exactly $15 a box after the special. If they have Winchester, it's cheaper than that. This could also work out even better if they will price match Wal-Mart on their 250 round boxes of Remington UMC but that's a big YMMV. If they did, it's $77.97 for the 40 at Wal-mart and B1G150% would be $116.96 for 500 rounds which is $0.23 a round for 40 S&W. For you AR-15 guys, Cabela's is putting .223 Ammo on sale for $89.99 for 300 rounds of Federal American Eagle (brass cased) with a storage can. It doesn't really go into detail but here's the link for it. Cabela's: Federal American Eagle Bulk .223 Remington Rifle Ammunition with Dry-Box All it says is Dry Box and there's no pictures so I dunno. However, here's some of the others that are on sale. The only bad thing is that I don't know if it's in store only or not. Hopefully, it will online as well. Federal American Eagle .45 ACP Ammo 350 Rounds w/Ammo Can - $149.99 Federal Champion .40 S&W Ammo 50 Rounds - $14.99 Ferderal Champion .22 LR Ammo 525 Round Value Pack - $15.99 Winchester USA 9mm 115-Gr. FMJ Ammo 50 Rounds - $10.99 Also, Cabela's is putting an AR-15 on sale for $599 with a redot. It's the one at the very bottom of the list. Cabela's: Bushmaster Firearms AR-15 Rifles Bass Pro Shops doesn't seem to have any ammo on sale and only 2 shotguns and a gun safe and they aren't really the best of deals. I'll post more as I get to them on the list.
  19. The on Clinton Hwy now has the Sig 522 for $478 and some guy was buying one while I was there and they had another Sig M400 or something like that and of course the Bushmaster for $878. I would just love to see them selling pistols. All they really need now are decent gun loving folks who are knowledgeable back there selling them.
  20. Knoxville 1-Day Deals A new living social deal for an HCP course for $40 from On Target Training Center. I didn't take my course with Doug but he does all my FFL transfers for me.
  21. Honestly it depends on you...have you ever shot that pistol? Did it feel great in your hand?
  22. Okay, so a couple of days ago, Wednesday, I got my holster in from him and I took some pictures and have been breaking it in since them and here's my initial review. The packaging was great. I had taken the holster out before I wanted to take pictures but it was completely covered by the packing peanuts so it was really safe and secure and made sure the kydex didn't break or anything in transit. He also stapled his business card in for that personal touch and I rather like that. It looks pretty good out of the box and the side where your gun goes in is pretty smooth. The kydex is a tight fit and I mean tight. I had a bit of time getting my gun in it initially and let me tell you about ruining the finish on your gun. A good 40 times of inserting and removing will have that kydex putting some wear on your firearm's finish. I solved that problem with a bit of electrical tape and so we're good now. The backside of the leather is pretty normal for hybrid holster's that I've seen but the top of it comes over my boxers and rubs on me a bit. Thankfully I'm pretty skinny so it's not a lot but lord knows it can get old if you wear it every day so I would suggest an undershirt. The kydex also does a good job of covering everything on your firearm that's important. It covers the magazine release button, your decocker, trigger and trigger guard. The draw is really nice and smooth as well. Other than that, I wore it around from the time it got here around 4pm until I woke up to go to work the next day. That's right, I slept in it and it was still golden. It's still going to take a bit of time to break in but so far, it's well worth the $50. The draw is pretty decent. The clips are strong and I mean really freaking strong. It's actually easier to put it on my pants and then pull my pants up than it is to try tucking it in with my pants already up. His site says you can adjust the cant and ride height and I'm guessing you can by moving the clips but I liked the initial setting myself. It's just slightly more comfortable to me than the Crossbreed Supertuck. So keep in in your minds when you want an IWB holster but don't want to pay a lot. Also, he made it and shipped it within 10 days which isn't bad at all and definitely beats the extreme waits from Crossbreed and Mtac. Pics
  23. BBBIIIIGGGG Maybe there....I wouldn't chance it at all. Especially with all of this fuel going on about allowing carrying on campus, they'd be liable to make an example out of you and get you for everything they possibly can.
  24. This isn't liberal propaganda...it's anti gun toilet paper that isn't fit to wipe my butt (what I'm saying is that it shouldn't be about which way you lean...there's anti gun on both sides of the fence). I'm a liberal and these "tests" aren't even remotely scientific in any way. They decide to recreate an event but not actually do it the same way the event happens and then skew it so the people were doomed from the start. First of all, if these people had HCP's, they would have their OWN GUNS and OWN HOLSTERS that they've been getting comfortable with for quite sometime especially when they would have been carrying their EVERY DAY CARRY WEAPON. Taking 6 random people and handing them a Glock and a holster and then saying you've got about 2 days to make this work doesn't count. What if these guys don't like the feel of Glocks. What if they rather like Sig's or XD's or M&P's or any other gun and the Glock doesn't feel good in their hands. What if they don't like the holster they are given. Real results are the only way to do it and to get that, you need a potential tragedy and not a training exercise.
