Oh...uhm...I dunno...concealed carry then. I don't care if it shows a bit but I just really want to be well made and last forever...emphasis on the word forever so good quality is definitely a plus. Does the Super Tuck allow for 360 degree rotation?
-
lol sorry...not laughing at you but rather I reported the 2 duplicates and they removed one of the duplicates and the other one that I had edited with more information. So....here we go again. P226 Paddle Holster Sig makes a Paddle Holster that states it will rotate the full 360 degrees to allow you to have it at any angle. I've been looking to see if other holsters do this but they don't actually state it. I don't really know of the quality of the Sig holster either. Some people were saying the Blackhawk Serpa was better but it doesn't actually state that it will rotate like that. In fact, when I searched for the Serpa rotating 360 degrees it popped up about some kit that you could buy that would sorta let you do it but it costs extra instead of just being with the product from the beginning.

lol well, if there were any other walmarts closer to me or the places I frequent, I'd check them out as well but there's not really. I'll be dropping by the one in Turkey Creek and HOPING they still have the 100 round boxes of Winchester for $28.97 since I'll be going shooting on Thursday anyway at CCA.

I'm not 100% sure on how to really describe what I want but I'll do my best. I want a polymer holster (I don't really like leather) and either OWB or back holster. What I really want is for it to be able to tilt in either direction 90 degrees. This way I can have it on side facing straight down or on my back facing to the left. I'd also love it if it had the button on it to remove your gun from the holster that releases the friction. Does such a thing exist? If so, please tell me about it because right now, I'm at a blank. This holster will be for a Sig P226 as well.

I do know that the 45 ACP rounds went up as well but I don't remember the price. Also, I made one mistake in my earlier post. The Winchester JHP 50 round packs are now $24.97 for a 50 round box and the Winchester 50 round of target ammo is now $18.97 for a 50 round pack. I saw the TulAmmo was still at $12.99 for .40 box of 50 rounds. I went to the Clinton Hwy Walmart as well to see if their prices had changed as well and they are pretty universal except that the Winchester 555 round box of JHP .22LR went down $0.50 at the Clinton Hwy Walmart to $18.97 from $19.47. All the Federal Ammo prices are unchanged and the box of 100 rounds of .223 is still $39.97. It really seems as if only the Winchester ammo prices have changed so it looks like I'll be shooting a lot more Federal now. The 45 ACP of TulAmmo is still the same cheap price at the Clinton Hwy Walmart though. I didn't see any on the shelf at the Gallagher View. The Federal is also the same price.

I like CCA for their range and knowledge but their prices aren't the best and really, I only go there for their range and everything else is just after that fact. I will say they are super nice to me (now anyway) and that's always a good thing.
-
I went to Walmart on Gallagher View last night to pick up some bullets for shooting on Thursday and the price has jumped up $5 a box on .40 Winchester. The strange thing is that all of the Winchester boxes prices have jumped up at least $4 each but all the other brands (Federal, Remington, etc) have stayed the same. So Federal 50 round boxes are still $14.97 while Winchester 100 round boxes are $33.97 and 50 round boxes are $23.97 (yeah...I said the same thing about the price of the 50 round boxes.)

Wow that's a long drive. I guess if I'm ever that way, I'll check it out.

Where is the Knoxville store located?

USAA does cover it. I think up to $2k. The NRA insurance is only like $1500. Who is your home owners insurance through? https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/insurance_home_value_items That personal property is included in their Home Owner's Insurance by default as well. Also, if you go through them to get ADT, they drop your Home Owner's insurance premium by a lot for paying less than $20 a month for ADT.

Well, I actually ended up finding the exact model I wanted for $1099 + tax and bg check and I asked them how low would they go out the door and their price was $110 more than I wanted to pay. I can get it through Sig's IOP for $1084 + $30 FFL/BG fee so I've been weighing anything more than that. Now I've just been looking at them some more and I really want the DMR version with the 21" barrel. I want the option to make it multi-purpose and Sig doesn't sell the barrels for their rifles solo.
-
Sorry...those are Sig's IOP prices for last years model without the E2 grips stock. The new prices are a bit higher on some pistols, lower on others and lower on rifles. If you're retired/active military, first responder (EMT, Fireman etc), or law enforcement, you can get them for pretty amazing prices vs retail.

The Sig P226 is awesome. I absolutely love mine. I will make one very good recommendation though for it. Buy the 22LR Beavertail model and then buy a Caliber X-Change kit to get the caliber you want as your EDC. Doing it this way gets you a .22LR conversion kit for cheap shooting and if you don't need it, you can sell the slide and magazine (because that's all that's in the kit anyway) to recoup some of the costs and the Caliber X-Change kits come with nightsights and 1 Magazine so you're only missing 1 Magazine from buying it new and you generally come out cheaper. For instance, if I had done it for mine, I would have paid $402 for the gun and $250 for kit so a total of $652 + $30 for the FFL and background check to make $682. Instead, I paid $655 + $30 for the FFL and background check and $250 for the .22LR conversion kit for a total of $935. Big difference there of almost $300 bucks.

I went yesterday and saw something I wanted, went back today to get it and the price had gone up and the guy behind the counter was not at all interested in lowering it back down to make a sale. However, I did find the exact Sig Rifle I wanted there at the show but it was about $110 more than I'm looking to pay for it. I can get it now for $1084 + $30 for the FFL fee and background check so no sense in paying almost $1200 just to have it today.

Welcome The more from Knoxville, the better

Meh that blows about not switching stocks but I could live with that.....I think I want this rifle though badly. In fact I'm going to head back to the gun show tomorrow morning and if they have this rifle for 900+ tax, I'll be walking out of the gun show with it.

lol you two are funny

My first gun that I bought a few months ago is a Sig P226 chambered in .40 and I just got my .22LR conversion kit for it and I love this gun. It's amazing to shoot. The accuracy is good on .40 barrel. The only bad things I'll say about Sig pistols is that their magazines are super expensive. Around $50 for a new magazine and $29 each if you qualify for their IOP. Other than that, you've got a great plan. Generally speaking, buying the .22LR version of the Sig model you want and then the caliber X-Change kit for the other caliber you want is wwwwwaaaaayyy cheaper than doing it the other way around for the .22LR conversion kit.

lol well I'm getting ready to hit the shower now....ugh.....oh well...there's no way I'm going a day without a shower . Thank you.

I've been looking for one for a bit now (I think I seriously have the gun fever) and today at the gun show, I saw a Sig556 and fell in love. At first, I was going to try building my own AR-15 but not anymore. Can anyone give me their good experiences on this rifle? Are the accessories (i.e. scopes, sights, stocks, and the front guard that you can put under the barrel to make holding it up easier) super overpriced or pretty reasonable?
-
Well, I'd like to meet all you guys as well just to say hello I'm heading back there tomorrow though to pick up a couple things and get the exact model numbers on those Sig556 rifles. Also, do you know if you have to pay the fee again if you went the day before?
-
Well, just got back from the Gun show and honestly, no one is missing anything at all. Found a good Taurus Judge and it was about $70 more than it should be and they weren't willing to come down at all in price. Found an MP5 and got excited and then saw the price ($500) and got really excited and then saw it was a .22LR (still not bad but I'll never pay more than $400 for anything in .22LR) and then had to walk away. Found a couple of Sig556's that were less than 1k (I think they were around the $899 region) which is a good price. On a good note, I picked out the rifle I want to buy Sig556 here I come .

Lucky CCA doesn't have them yet and I haven't had a chance to visit any others. CCA is more just convenience though as I go to their range.

Craig, I'll tell you of my Sig. I have a P226 .40 with night sights and I love it. I can't really give you any durability responses as I've only had mine for a few months and I've only shot 450 rounds through it so far. However, every round has been amazing to shoot. I absolutely love this gun. I've shot the P220 in .45ACP and .22R and honestly, other than the recoil, I can't tell the difference. They both shoot pretty well and very accurate. The only bad thing about the .22LR is that you will have to adjust the bloody sights because for some reason, it always shoots low using the stock sights and once you align it, it's perfect. After that, your .45ACP Caliber X-Change kit should take over the rest. Just remember to get everything shiny lubed on a Sig and it should last you forever.
