  1. Vista Outdoor rejects MNC unsolicited bid. Details at link below. https://www.stocktitan.net/news/VSTO/vista-outdoor-rejects-unsolicited-indication-of-interest-from-mnc-dfecrmg2znfj.html
  2. FYI: The currently accepted deal by the Vista Outdoor board that still needs the approval of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) shows that the Czech-based CSG said it plans to take $1.11 billion of debt financing to fund the deal with Vista Outdoor. https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/vista-outdoor-sell-sporting-products-unit-191-bln-deal-cuts-sales-forecast-2023-10-16/
  3. MNC Capital Group is bidding to keep Vista Outdoor a USA based company given that the vast ammunition brands used by the public, law enforcement and our military is under the Vista Outdoor company. In my opinion, the fact that Mark Gottfredson is one of the principles of MNC Capital Group and was on the Vista Outdoor board of directors until he resigned in January is an advantage to the viability of the purchase of Vista Outdoor. https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/vista-outdoor-gets-29-billion-takeover-offer-wsj-reports-2024-03-01/ https://vistaoutdoor.com/brands/
  4. UPDATE 5/25/2023: The three brothers who own the Franklin Gun Shop received no prison time at their federal sentencing on Wednesday for forging documents in an attempt to cover up more than 100 weapons missing from their inventory. U.S. District Judge Aleta A. Trauger sentenced brothers Alan, Brian and Michael Hassler to two years of supervised release and ordered each to pay a $20,000 fine at the hearing at the federal courthouse in Nashville. The Hasslers pleaded guilty in November to making false entries on an official document with the intent to obstruct a federal investigation and making false entries regarding the disposition of firearms. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert E. McGuire wrote that the missing weapons were likely sold to lawful gun owners, but the brothers failed to fill out the necessary paperwork. Faced with a federal investigation, they chose to forge those documents to make it look like other customers purchased them. In short, the brothers "committed a federal crime to cover their own negligence in following federal regulations," McGuire wrote in a sentencing memorandum last week. "This case puts the truth to the adage: 'It’s not the crime, it’s the cover up,'" McGuire wrote. "Though in this case, the cover up was the crime." The charges stem from a 2016 Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigation into the Hasslers' family owned business, Franklin Gun Shop. A follow up investigation in 2020 found that hundreds of weapons were missing from the store's inventory with no record of their sales. By July 2021, the brothers were able to find records for all but 144 weapons, court records show. Then, "in perhaps a desperate attempt to keep their family business open," the Hasslers "exercised extremely poor judgment," McGuire wrote. The brothers forged federal records known as Form 4473s by adding the missing weapons to other Form 4473s for previous sales to make it appear the guns had been legally sold, McGuire wrote. ATF agents contacted the individuals on those forms, all of whom kept their receipts to show what they had actually purchased, which didn't include the missing weapons. In December 2021, the ATF served a warrant on Franklin Gun Shop. Shortly after the men were charged, they admitted their wrongdoing to federal prosecutors and moved to enter a guilty plea. Several of the missing guns have been located by the ATF in unrelated investigations, and none indicated any criminal activity on the part of Franklin Gun Shop, McGuire wrote. Franklin Gun Shop's license was revoked in May 2022. The men have also lost their federal firearms licenses. The Tennessean left a message with the Hasslers' attorney Ben Russ seeking comment Thursday afternoon. 5. This is merely a FYI for those people that encounter the issue of the slide not locking back on the last shot which may be caused by the Echelon's slide stop lever placement is further back on the frame towards your hand verses where the Glock's slide stop lever is located on their guns. This is surprising given the amount hard work HS Produkt put into the ergonomic design of the Echelon. At the 7:50 time in the video below, he explains the issue of the slide not locking back on the final round leading to a dead trigger. The probable cause being people with large hands having their grip likely depressing the slide stop. I watched another video from Pew Pew Tactical by the same shooter for the Glock 47 MOS and he did not experience the failure of slide lock on the last shot using the Glock. Just my observation. YMMV.
  6. I am glad your daughter survived that accident and that no passenger was in the car. I am not a doctor or medic, however keep your daughter under observation for signs of concussion that can start anywhere from hours to days later. https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/basics/concussion_symptoms.html https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/basics/concussion_danger_signs.html
  7. Wishing you and your wife a speedy recovery from Covid along with your recovery from surgery.
  8. Excellent news! Thank you for the update.
  9. @Jeb48 Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery!
  10. Any comedic guesses to what the piece of paper she is holding is about?
  11. Curiosity and Google searching based on historical data of gasoline prices and the OPEC oil embargo which began in October 1973, I am guessing late 1973 or early 1974. https://www.energy.gov/eere/vehicles/fact-915-march-7-2016-average-historical-annual-gasoline-pump-price-1929-2015 The embargo ceased U.S. oil imports from participating OAPEC nations, and began a series of production cuts that altered the world price of oil. These cuts nearly quadrupled the price of oil from $2.90 a barrel before the embargo to $11.65 a barrel in January 1974.
  12. I am still experiencing the same problem that Garufa is reporting on my Windows 10 Pro PC using Chrome browser with ad blockers.
  13. See my post regarding how I setup alerts to detect fraudulent activity on all my credit cards, my financial institutions and each year I renew the fraud alert to the credit report companies. The key is to activate both text messaging and email alerts for any type of activity. The sooner you can notify yourself to fraudulent activity, the quicker you can contact your credit card company or financial institution to proactively stop as best you can the fraudulent activity. In my case, during three different years they first tested my credit card with a small transaction. Due to my text and email alerts, I contacted the credit card company to avoid the criminal's being able to make more expensive purchases, close the account and send me a new credit card. I have the customer service phone numbers saved in my cell phone for all credit cards and financial institutions in case I am not at home if I receive an activity alert that I did not perform.
  14. I prefer Culver's burgers and milkshakes. For me, the unique favor of Culver's burgers paired with a Vanilla milkshake with fries tastes great to me. I have not eaten a What-A-Burger nor In-n-Out burgers in order to compare with Culver's burgers.
  15. Where Doc left out the keys to the time-traveling DeLorean for Marty McFly to once again travel back to 1955 in order to....
  16. Correct. Mickey Rooney and Carolyn Jones in the movie "Baby Face Nelson" from 1957. https://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/news-photo/mickey-rooney-as-lester-m-baby-face-nelson-gillis-and-news-photo/526895974 The exact picture that Jeb48 posted is in the link below about half way down the in website. https://twentyfourframes.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/where-are-they-baby-face-nelson-1957/

  18. I agree. My post is offering an alternative if you are not willing to spend time listing the firearms for sale, getting contacted by people who try to lower your price or want to trade you something for the firearm, the dangers of selling to strangers, getting payment and possibly dealing with shipping the firearm legally.
  19. Are there any middle TN gun shops that either buy guns or sell on consignment? Bass Pro or Cabela’s buys guns. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s do not purchase modern muzzleloaders, black powder or air guns. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/we-buy-guns
  20. Thank you for answering my question regarding the walkability of the sporting clay courses at Cross Creek Clays.
  21. I have had my credit card information stolen three different years. Each time they tested my credit card with a $1 or $1.50 small transaction. One time they charged my credit card with a small transaction to test that the card was still valid and then issued a credit for the same amount. Since both of those transactions were pending transactions, I would have not known about the test if I relied on seeing the transactions on my statement. However, I have text and email alerts setup on my credit card which alerted me to the test transactions. I have text and email alerts setup with all my financial institutions. Each year I renew my fraud alert with one of the credit report companies which gets shared to the other two credit report companies to make it harder for someone to open a new credit account in my name.
  22. I shot sporting clays at TCTC many years ago and I enjoyed the variations at each stand. I always had problems with the "rabbit" clay disk rolling and bouncing at high speed on the ground. TCTC only has one sporting clay course, but at the time I went to TCTC, they change the clay machines and difficulty frequently so the course is not the same. One time I went on a weekend after they had a tournament for the sporting clays and the stands were still setup for the tournament. Needless to say, I did not score well. I think my score was 20's or 30's out of the 100 clay targets. I still had a good time. I noticed that the Cross Creek Clays website said you can get golf carts. Is the distance from the clubhouse to the various courses very far away or very difficult terrain that would prevent walking? I would think the distance between stands on a given course would be easily walkable. I would prefer walking and talking with the group as long as the terrain was not like a difficult hike in the woods with steep inclines and declines. EDIT: For those new to the middle TN area, Nashville Gun Club (TCTC) offers more than just sporting clays. https://www.nashvillegunclub.com/
  23. Thank you for the information of this facility. Which course did you shoot at Cross Creek Clays? Red, White or Blue? Have you been to TCTC (Nashville Gun Club) and shot their sporting clay course?
  24. I watched this PBS Frontline Tuesday night and thought the program did a great job explaining how we got this point of bank failures. There are many reasons that caused the financial crisis we are currently experiencing today. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/age-of-easy-money/
