  1. There is nothing wrong with DPMS lower kits. Almost all the big AR company's purchase there small parts from outside vendors then assemble them in their own kits. Most of the time it is the same supplier ie springs, hammers and roll pins.
  2. Starting a family at my age. Motorcycling, restoring milsurp rifles and reading.
  3. A wholesaler and a soldier in the Reserves
  4. Love my wheel guns,Ruger, S&W,Colt and Dan Wesson!!!!
  5. I have had a Glock 19 with night sights for years. Great first gun.
  6. I stopped by today and purchased some reloading supplies. They had a new guy working there and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I might have just went on bad day. I know how important it is to support the local gun shop. I will just purchase my firearms elsewhere.
  7. Some people use Windex on the first couple of passes to kill off the salts in the corrosive ammo. I use a product call Sweet's 7.62. It contains ammonia in it. But do not leave it in the barrel more than 10 minutes. Also I do love my bore snakes.
  8. Belgian made Hi-Power. I really miss this gun and can't find one like it
  9. I have a three year old girl. I know exactly what you are going through.

    Building new AR15

All mine are DPMS. I have no issues. The fit and finish are great.
  11. They have decent prices on reloading gear. It's just when trying to buy hardware. Three times I have been told items could not be had. Every time within two to three days Rabbi at East Side came through.
  12. Thank you for the offer. I made headway using a cut-off wheel and tin snips.
  13. Thanks for all the tips. Will try the grinder or snips method mentioned. I don't want to waste ammo and out of gas for my torch.
  14. Has any one used this shop? I have purchased ammo and reloading items. I have purchased one gun. Customer service is spotty. It is different every time I go there. It has cost them quite a few sales. I live close to this place and now drive all the way across town to do business.
  15. Thanks everyone. I stopped by and got one from Rabbi at East Side Guns. I also got a case of ammo. So soon as I can it's off to the range. Any ideas on a sight mount?
  16. It won't fit over the lip. The larger one won't either. Thanks
  17. Any ideas on how to open a spam can of ammo? I was not furnished a tool.
  18. What are you asking for your rifle?
  19. That is the rifle I am thinking about. The one I am looking at has a side folding stock. How do you like it?
  20. My DPMS 308 was just little above your stated amount. I love it. It was voted rifle of the year for 2006 by American Rifleman (NRA) magazine. I got mine from Rabbi at East Side Guns. He is a member of this forum. Knights Armament and DPMS were both considered for the new Army SASS platform. The Knights got the contract. But my cronies at Ft. Benning told me they were both equal and rumours of the good ol'boy network. A lot of guy's in the AMU use RRA in 223 and DPMS in 308.
