  1. .40 s&w?? I've seen a lot of law enforcement using the .40 recently...I use .40, 7.62x39, and .22lr
  2. Work in the Gulch M-F...I live 45 miles away from there....I need friends in my work area
  3. I'd kick a ape straight in the butthole!
  4. Although I would NEVER wear flip flops, I still carry a extra pair of Bates side zip boots in the trunk. Normally I wear western boots and guarantee I can out run anyone in flip flops, sandals, and probably tennis shoes too. The Bates boots are for when I need to be extra fast. Grown men should not wear flip flops (even tactical ones)!!
  5. That is awesome. I recently changed jobs to get weekends off. I went 11 years of working EVERY Sat and Sun and decided it was time for a change. We are trying to get into the same pattern. I'd live outdoors if I could. For his birthday we had a "outside" party complete with campfire and tent. The funny part is when we were inside, some of the boys wanted to play video games and my son was the worst at them. But when we went outside to light the fire, he was eager to show the boys what he was good at! I treasure all these moments! And now my 6 year old daughter has expressed interest in fishing too!
  6. Sweet! I like the ruffle one too. I have an older kershaw my father gave. It is fixed blade with a leather sheath, and I keep it in my bug bag. I say carry the big one and open those envelopes with authority!
  7. Hmm...I have a 35 and haven't had issues like yours...could be the rod but i am baffled. I'll be curious to see if that fixes it. Best of luck!
  8. He's 10 and wants to know everything about outdoors and survival. Looks like we will be going this weekend armed with my new knowledge. If we get a fish, I'll post pics...
  9. Yea...I know you can't always catch a fish...but I imagine if I had had the great advice from these gentlemen here we would have got one. I have no clue about fishing, but I gonna try again using some of these techniques.
  10. If something looks out of place, it might be. It also might not be. Paying attention in case it is, makes good sense to me.
  11. I took my son fishing last month and did not catch anything. I need a formula to guarantee we catch a fish. We are fishing off the banks of the lake and he doesn't care what kind of fish it is. I need a no fail bait. He said he had fun, but I imagine he would have liked to catch a fish...Thanks!
  12. My dad and uncle took me on my first squirrel hunting trip. I didn't shoot any squirrels and my uncle went back to the car after a scare from a opossum (thus the nickname "uncle chicken"). I had a great time!
  13. Heres one I made from an old butcher knife i had. Still needs a little finishing, but i like it. http://
  14. I'd like to think it's not as "crisis like" as I've been hearing, but I took all my cash out of savings and filled up my gas tanks. Just in case...And I put on my tinfoil hat....
  15. I agree with Fallguy, if there are signs up how do I know if they are outdated or current...I went to a state park last weekend and saw the signs and carried anyway. I was 99% sure I was right, but carrying concealed like I always do makes it not matter much either way.
  16. Personally, I don't like the military compound idea. That scenario forces me to take orders from someone else, who just like me, wants to survive. I'm sure my best interests would be a distant second to theirs. I guess I will have to hole up at my secret spot and hope for the best.
  17. I picked some of this up on special at Gander Mtn. Haven't shot any yet, but glad it got good reviews. I paid $5 a box for it so I wasn't expecting too much.
  18. +1 Sticky Fingers- Def Go! -1 College Park- Def Avoid
  19. If they taste like every other "ready made" sammich I've ever had, I'll pass. I did see some bacon in a can on that website. That actually might be good if it's like pre-cooked bacon. And yes, I said sammich.
  20. they do kinda look the same...but i like em' http://
