That was is it. I just start going back to old posts and deleting one at a time...takes awhile, but that's ok. I can't delete old posts that have been locked though. But I think I can get enough of the older stuff deleted to post some new photos. Thanks OS and Daniel!

Too much science OS for this non computer guy...but yes, I was wanting to post a photo on classifieds. It let me post them a couple weeks back...same camera, same card, but now some photos off the same camera card are not loading, saying file too big. I've messed with it and still can't figure out how to get them 'small enough' to load them onto the TGO classifieds.

I see its at 49K. I've cut my photos down to 4x6 at 72 res but that still only reduces them to 55K and I can't post them. I have posted before from this same camera for the past six months but now it doesn't take them. Any ideas?

I'm talking about the court case of U.S. (BATF) vs Thompson Center, makers of singleshot rifles and muzzleloaders (at that time). If they took the company to court (I would like to read those details) for the concern of the possible violation of people assembling their single shot rifles/pistols, stocks and barrels incorrectly, I can only imagine they really have a headache now with so many manufacturers of AR rifles, parts, barrels, etc. Lots of people today are building their own rifles. I doubt there was a lot of that going on 20-30 years ago.

US vs Thompson Arms, really? Heh, heh ... if the ATF was worried about switching around stock/barrel combinations on a single shot rifle back then (I seriously doubt a Contender was ever used in a crime scene), I bet they're really concerned about those shorty AR barrels!

Was at the Bill Goodman show yesterday and saw a guy with a Thompson Center Contender slung on his shoulder. What caught my attention was that he had a carbine stocked receiver with a Super 14" barrel. Would that not be a no-no within ATF rule? With the swapping ability of these and even more so, those cool 'pistol' AR uppers, to rifle lowers, I'd bet some folks do it, not realizing they'd be in deep kimche when an ATF agent taped on their shoulder.

Always thought about getting one ... but I heard they can blow up too! Have they remedied that yet?

This is exactly why I feel at ease with TGO. There's a profile for each member, with feedback from people who've actually made transactions with the individual. Every FTF I've made in TGO has been a good experience. I don't, and won't do Craigs List.

I really don't understand those who want to open carry, get a CCW and carried concealed. One of the first steps in self defense is have the surprise advantage. Not much surprise to a thug when he can see you're carrying. You'd be his first target, as you'd be his immediate threat. I think some people just like to stir it.

Just an idea, how about TGO setting up at a Nashville gun show this summer and having a meet & greet all day long? It would give those a long window of time to show up and the scenery (guns & ammo) would be appropriate. Could sign up some new members too.

I hear what you're saying Smith, my .243 is also a good, mild shooter for kids and has taken a fair share of whitetails. Like Dolo though, I kind of like the 'odd' off the wall stuff when it comes to interesting firearms. I just think his idea is pretty unique. But in reality, they all work with the right shot placement!

Very cool Dolo.. I'm anxious to hear the results. That might make an awesome whitetail round too. I have two grandsons who will one day be deer hunting, and we know how recoil shy those little guys are at first...heck, I'm still recoil shy now that I think of it...LOL. That's why I sold my .300 Weatherby Ultra Light and bought a Kimber in 7/08!

Hey Jaysan, I've bought, sold, and traded guns all my life...glad to see some go and sorry about letting others get away, but probably none so then the new S&W mod 16 I bought when they first came out. One of the most accurate handguns I've ever owned. Punched a lot of paper and even killed a couple ground hogs with it. But years later when I was offered about $100 more than I gave for it, I let it go and replaced it with a .38 Smith L-frame. I had no hindsight as the .38s are plentiful, but if you find a clean 16, it's got a hefty price on it. Anyhoo, I just moved to Old Hickory 6 months ago, but when I finally pick up the rest of my reloading stuff in Ky, I'll pass on some of my favorite load data I kept on the .32. I've got one with Bullseye and a swaged 98gr HBWC that was very sweet. I may even have some .32 components left that I'll PM you on.

Agree Greg, 223 is a bad example, as would be 7.62x39 or 9mm as these are about the cheapest rounds you can buy. In fact, as a reloader, these three calibers I just mentioned are the ones I DO NOT reload for but instead I look for gun show bulk buys. However my rifles, such as my 6.5x55 or 7mm/08 will yield a much higher savings. I look at the accurate, custom loads I can 'roll' versus what I pay for a premium factory load (like $37 for Hornady Superfomance 6.5s for a box of 20) And as mentioned throughout this thread, we don't figure in labor as it is ...IMO...a relaxing pass time to crank out a box in the evening and admiring the finished work. Just something about those shiney bullets you hold in your hand before seating. I believe us reloader are really akin to someone who ties flies. Bet they could buy them just as cheap at Bass Pro, but when you catch that trout on a fly your hands tied, well, that's how I feel about dropping a nice 8pt with a bullet I loaded, as well as punching a bullseye down range with the same. And thats all I have to say about that (Forrest Gump)

Ok...they still have steel in them and some ranges won't allow them.

The bullets used are thin copper plated steel cored, even the .380s I used were (try the magnet trick). They're cheap but some indoor ranges won't allow them because of the richochet factor. I know the Gun Room in Lebanon will not allow them. I won't use them again. I'm a reloader, but not for my .380. I'll probably find a supplier of CCI Blazer somewhere, I've had good results with them in the past.
