  1. Lost my two mini longhair dachshunds a month apart last year. Really blessed to have had them but still hurts a lot even today. My deepest condolences.
  2. Dave, thanks, didn't realize they had a self delivery option. Their deliver and pickup option was 139 each way. I'll run down there today and see how long the trailer is and how high of a ramp I'd need if it doesn't come off the trailer (which it probably won't). This may work, but since I'm loading myself I'm trying to find the easiest solution without a ridiculous cost for 3 days. Thanks for the idea. Henry
  3. Thanks for the replies - checked the Lowes prices - think they use one of the pod suppliers I checked before and prices are even higher - though I can get a veterans discount. The pod guys kill you in the Delivery and Pickup charges - they're more geared to longer term storage. A 12 ft truck may be the best option except the lack of a loading ramp makes it problematic. I would like to plug the refrigerator in while locked up in the storage unit. Ease of use is a big priority. When we moved in a while back, movers had a truck with lift gate on it and it leaked hydraulic fluid. Not good on concrete. Also, we have a short driveway so just trying to be efficient. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm sure I'll come up with something.
  4. Yeah, thats kinda how I felt, too. Thanks Henry
  5. Sorry, meant to say the following - a pod (checked two vendors of pods) were $350 to $400 with most of that the charge to deliver and then return to collect. A truck (with lift gate) rental was over $300. Just looking for options at this point - still have a couple of weeks till I have to have it, but the items are heavy and bulky and I'm old and bulky.
  6. Am having garage floor coated and I’m need of an enclosed trailer to rent for two or three days. The ones from uhaul are only around 4ft 10in and I need about 6ft interior and maybe 8 to 10 ft long. Have a refrigerator, toolbox and couple of other items to put in it in my driveway while coating cures. Anybody know of a solution. Renting a truck with lift gate or a pod are much more than I need for three days. Any ideas Thanks Henry Murfreesboro
  7. Tennessee allows veterans to have the veteran status on your drivers license. Just take copy od DD214 to local drivers center and they will process for you. Worked for me.
  8. Welcome to California http://www.breitbart.com/california/2017/12/22/ammunition-sales-surge-in-california/
  9. Another very good option is Snapper Pro - S200 series. Very well priced and good quality. Very good cut.
  10. The Woodlands evening menu is really good. Another good one is Taj on Nolensville Rd neat the Zoo. Very good lunch Buffet (best in Nashville) but Evening off of menu has very good items. Woodlands would be my pick, though
  11. Just doodling around on you tube and vevo tonight and sort of wound up with this. Saw them live at Municipal Auditorium in early 70's. Started out with Marshall Tucker band, then Charlie Daniels band end headlined with Black Oak. I still have most of their albums - really liked the hard southern rock they did then. Saw Jim "Dandy" Mangrum at Daytona Bike Week around 2000 - his daughter was singing as well - she looked great. He looked like the next video. Oh how age catches up with us. Memories are best.
  12. Thanks to all that replied , someone is letting me borrow a Wheeler.
  13. I appreciate all the suggestions, I have an inch lb I've used on auto and m/c but they are larger and somewhat bulkier than something like the Wheeler or a more compact tool. Thanks for the suggestions but I'd really rather borrow one for a little bit that spend even more money on something that I'd use very infrequently.
  14. Anyone in the Franklin Tn area have an inch lb torque wrench I could borrow to mount scope? Thanks in advance
  15. Wrap dove breast in thinly sliced bacon, place in pyrex dish and cover with white sauce (similar to Béchamel) and bake in oven or on Green Egg. Very Rich tasting and takes lots of wine and/or beer to eat all of it. First time i had it this way was in east TN while in college and stayed at a friends house in Johnson City and ate all we shot that day. Our wives got mad that we didn't bring any doves home. Drank scotch then. Next year brought them home and wives were very happy.
  16. I've had a large egg for many, many years and got a Joe Jr last August at Costco. Have hardly used the BGE since as we're empty nesters. However I decided to do a clean burn to clear out the egg after several months of non use. What a mess oozing out of the egg. Was really ugly surface, so egg will absorb moisture from atmospheric humidity and the high heat drove ugly unburned stuff along with the moisture out through pores in the egg. Looks fine now but was pretty obnoxious looking at the time. Use the egg somewhat on a regular basis and no problems. Did ribs on the egg last Monday - very good. If anyone in this area wants to get together and share recipes or just cook on the egg, let me know. Cooking is always a good excuse to get together.

  18. Don't forget the grilled cheeseburger or cheeseburger on french bread at Rotiers.   Also, long time favorite (been going there since mid/late 70's) is standard Cheeseburger with everything at Browns Diner.  They've been using same griddle the whole time.
